Born and raised in New York,
Jeanne considers herself a citizen of the world. Her
career path in business was unexpectedly interrupted
when, at the age of 35, she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins
Lymphoma. After a life-saving bone marrow transplant,
Jeanne left the business world to become a social worker.
Upon receiving her Master’s Degree from Columbia
University, Jeanne went to work with children in the
public school system. Currently a Program Director of
Counseling In Schools, Inc., a non-profit community
based organization, Jeanne supervises counseling programs
throughout New York City.
Jeanne’s creativity has
taken many forms including visual art, jewelry design,
chocolate lollipop centerpieces and writing. She believes
the creative process is an expression of one’s
deepest self and is happy when her work finds a more
public voice, touching others’ lives as it has
hers. Her recent story about a dot’s search for
true meaning in its life was inspired by a friend who
had shared a one sentence revelation after a session
with a therapist. The story wrote itself and lived in
Jeanne’s computer for 5 years before it was brought
to life by co-author Nancy S. Mure and illustrator,
Alexander T. Lee. It is a story that, in some ways,
mirrors Jeanne’s own journey and reminds us that
life is full of changes and endless possibilities…
or not.
The choice is ours.
