George LoBuono grew
up amid the rivers and hillside of the Midwest, then
moved to Northern California at age nineteen. There,
he planted redwood trees amid clear-cuts and was stunned
by the damage done to the few remaining slivers of ancient
forest. After a few false starts at writing, he returned
to college to study history and did free-lance reporting,
then began to write poetry and short stories.
"My life has been one of unexpected surprises,
sharply defined by the before and after of travels to
other countries, the beauty of love, and a rigorous
introduction to the seemingly impossible. In all that
we do, there is much more than meets the eye. Ultimately,
our limits are self-imposed, often illusory."
