Beverly hadn’t
known her gardener’s thumb was so green until
pretty weeds began growing in profusion. Her backyard
soon becomes a jungle. Eventually, she accepts the fact
that her prize plants can not survive on water alone.
They need moist flesh. Failing to kill them, terror
gradually changes to compassion.
By ancestoral decree, a colony of Norahs had traveled
through the Universe to planet Earth. They must use
hosts in which to grow, until such time as there is
no doubt they will be successful in the total annihilation
of the humans.
Yendor sincerely hopes it will not be necessary to make
Beverly his first solid meal after he emerges from his
host weed, since the grotesque insect has fallen in
love with her.
