Toward the end
of September 1924
a mold was formed
then summarily broken

a spark of light
a dash of clay
an infusion of hope
mystery set in motion

…a bright boy
with earnest bearing
punctuated by bouts
of mischievous play

a young man
distinguished by charisma determination
and substance—who understood
and practiced chivalry

…a loving husband
who captured
a young girl’s heart
and never let go

remaining ever faithful
to her—such that
their entire being and
souls became interwoven

…a loving father
a pillar of strength
who sacrificed all
for his children

an exemplary provider
who provided so much
from so little—
with nary a complaint

…a dedicated worker
for whom employers
realized that their prayers
had been answered
a genuinely unique man—
your spirit and memory
shall abide with us
forever

…the immense void we
now share is thus
attributable to our
great love for him.

Bread

…the staff of life

MORAL CONVICTION

Whenever
one is inspired
by moral conviction
they constitute
a presence
unbeholden to
nor deterred by
forces other than
their own
personal suppression

we should not
confuse this with
moral righteousness
since all humans
perpetrate moral digression
until the
very last breath
permitted of us
within our
terminal abode

…lest we deter
too far from
our subject…

moral conviction
warrants one
to stand upright
on both feet
defend justice and
depropagandize propaganda
the very qualities
obligatory to initiate
an endeavor
to seek truth.
