Writer Online Books is pleased to announce the launch of “One-Shots,” a new series of online writing workshops taught by award winning author and script coverage consultant, Christina Hamlett. Because they are offered throughout the year and do not involve participation in a chat room, learners can sign up at any time they wish and receive professional feedback on the three mini-assignments that accompany each course. In addition, learners who complete each class will be invited to submit the first 5 pages of their book, theatrical script or screenplay for professional critique..

Course Title: PERFECT PITCH: HOW TO SELL YOUR WORK IN TEN MINUTES OR LESS

Instructor: Christina Hamlett

Content: Now that you’ve just finished writing the next LORD OF THE RINGS, how do you get someone to read it…and buy it? In this one-session class, you’ll learn how to pitch your hot idea on paper as well as in person. Whether you plan to write novels, theatrical scripts or screenplays, knowing how to present your concept in a compelling, succinct and entertaining fashion can make all the difference in getting your work over the transom and into the right pair of hands for a sale.

Requirements: The ability to read, write and understand English. Access to the Internet. The ability to submit assignments in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat.

Duration: Learners work entirely at their own pace to complete the three assignments included with the lecture.

Enrollment: Continuous.

Cost: $25
