History of the Orcs - Honor of the Minotaur

What the histories forget to mention is that before his death the Minotaur gave life to ten offspring, seven females and three male Minotaurs. And that after his death, these creatures hid themselves away from the world for many years. It is then believed that through another series of strange occurrences, similar to that which occurred to the humans now known as the Redlings, they too were mysteriously transported to the world of Coroleya. Where they have flourished under the four suns, and birthed a powerful new nation called Τη σφα?ρα των ονε?ρων, which roughly translates into The Realm of Dreams. A proud warrior race, that holds their traditions in high esteem, the Minotaurs live alongside their neighbors the Trollkings in an uneasy peace, that has frequently broken out in war from time to time.

The longest and greatest of the wars to be fought by the Minotaurs however was not against Trollkings of Tarstone, but with the Fae'lon that reside on the large island, not far from the mainland. For many years the Minotaur Lords desiring the lush green forests of Neeven have fought a exhausting war to try and lay claim to these lands. A war that would have continued for a hundred more years, if not for the arrival of Ice Eyes a great Minotaur warrior, who disliking the greed of the Minotaur Lords, led a rebellion against the Lords of the land.

His followers called the Honor Blades, were taught to respect all life to guard the weak and the helpless and to never fight for greed. These warriors trained to wield the great sword by Ice Eyes himself were some of the best fighters this realm had to offer and their beliefs brought thousands of Minotaurs flocking to join his cause. The Minotaur Lords threatened by his growing power declared war upon him and those who followed him, calling them outlaws and bandits. The Lords killing, torturing and murdering anyone that supported Ice Eyes or was even related to the Honor Blades.

Ice Eyes sick to death of the needless bloodshed of so many innocents, gathered an army and attacked the Capital Cratus. There he fought the Minotaur Lords in a great battle called War's End, a battle that was turned into poem that is passed down from generation to generation.

  War's End

Ice Eyes his arms still strong

Looked out across the fields of green

At a sea of enemies and friends

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

A dull ache throbbed inside his chest

At the sight of so many of his kin

Oh how his heart ached to turn away

  And return home

  And leave all behind

  But he could not

For beside him, waiting to hear his words were his long cherished friends

Their faces shining with so much light and so much hope

  Their faith in him unshaken

No matter all that they had lost

He gripped his blade and called forth his banners

  He could not fail today

For the sake of his people

For the sake of his friends

For the sake of his homeland

  He must win this day

  Horns blared to life

  His warriors surged forth

Ice Eyes his great sword lead the way

In a thunderous crash of swords

  The two armies met

  Blood is spilled

  Friends are lost

  And still he fights on

  For all their sacrifices

  Would be as dust

If he failed to take the day

  Fearing all is lost

  As night draws near

  He roars his defiance

Birthing new life in his men

And together they battle their foes

  Until the day is theirs

  The day won

Ice Eyes his heart torn from so much suffering

His hands stained with so much blood

  Stands tall upon the battlefield

  His eyes weeping tears

For peace has come at last

The Battle of War's End signaled the end not only to the civil war, but an end to the age long war with the Fae'lon of Neeven. Before his death a few years later, Ice Eyes had all Honor Blades swear upon their lives to keep the peace of the land, safeguard the realm from any threat and serve her people with justice and honor. These words engraved upon the hearts of all Honor Blades, are taught to all new recruits wishing to join their illustrious ranks.
