Chapter 89. Where false kings lay. Part 3.

Fara walked slightly ahead of the group, leading them forward while explaining the rules and some of their history, glancing back at them from time to time as if checking whether or not they are still with her and listening, or have they maybee gotten brazen and decided to just wander off somewhere. She also noticed that the only man of the group was not explaining anything to the girls as she could see only Eve talking with the two pointy eared blondes. The third blonde with wolf ears was relaxedly hooked to the man's arm, the two walking like this was some sort of a courtship and she was nothing but an entertainer of sorts. That ticked her off a fair bit to be honest, she was a warrior and a hunter damn it. And then, as if to add an insult to injury, the wolf girl spoke their language.

"Come on little bunny, move those hips more. You look stiff like all hell." The words elicited a chuckle not only from the man, but the rest of the group as well, ticking Fara off even more. So much so that she was close to exploding. With a twitch in her eye, and one of her ears, she turned around and walked towards them slowly, teeth grinding as she spoke.

"I am no courtesan. I am a warrior of Naara and you will show me the respect that I deserve or I will put you in your place. Do not assume you are some big shots just because we have welcomed you in our town for the trial. Know your place!" she almost seethed as she spoke the last sentence.

"Eve is dying to pet some of those fluffy ears." the man said in Naara's tongue, his eyes locked on hers like a predator eyeing his prey "And she feels barely mid to high tier B rank. Want to show her 'Her' place? There is a difference between spunky and foolishly arrogant."

"Was just about to say the same. Thanks babe." Danica nearly purred as she spoke in Faras language as she let go of Rex arm and slowly walked forward, rolling her shoulders a bit in the process. "Come now little bunny, show me what you got." she grinned from ear to ear, a true grinn of a predator adorning her face. And Fara, for whatever reason, for the first time in her life felt like an actual prey, a shiver running down her spine. Of course just a moment later, the bunny girl seethed at the mere notion that she had felt that way, the group ahead of her did not feel all that much different from her, even slightly weaker in the aura they exuded.

"Is that so?" Fara's ear twitched even harder as she was slowly reaching her boiling point."Guess I will show you why they call me 'the little demon'." she spoke, her knees slightly bent and she shot towards the advancing wolf girl. Just a few moments later, Fara was right in front of Danica, delivering a side kick to the blonde wolfkins side. What would have ordinarily be a sight of the recipient of said kick falling over and holding their bruised, possibly filled with cracked bones, side, was entirely different sigh all together. Danica had simply braced herself and blocked the kick easily with one arm, a smirk on her face as she looked at the bunny girl.

"Is that all? You can surely do better or I might just make you my personal pet. Where I come from, wolves hunt rabbits, so being my pet instead of food would be the best case scenario for you."

"Come now Danica. She is decently looking and all but I have no desire to see you 'eating' her just yet, or at all for that matter." Rex quipped from the side, his joke sliding over the poor rabbit, thought the same could not be said about Danica.

"S-shut up Rex! That's not what I meant!"

"I know, I know. You have better eyes than that, besides you already have Eve." he snickered as he watched an escalating number of kicks coming from Fara to try and take Danica down, each and every one of them being blocked by his magnificent blonde with ease.

The flurry of kicks was becoming more and more vicious, aiming towards more vital areas with each next strike, clearly the bunny girl was getting more and more desperate in her attempts to show who is the boss. Unfortunately for Fara, the difference was just too vast in their might. Not only was Danica a true A ranker, both in her skills and mana capacity, but she also had a much more powerful body as well, the body refinement runes having done their job in strengthening Danica considerably, something Danica did not try to hide one bit as she laughed while dealing with the incoming strikes.

"Damn Rex, I can barely even feel the impact, let alone any sort of pain. I fucking love you!" she laughed as suddenly, blocking yet another kick, she put more force in her own movement, the impact creating a much louder sound, earning a proper wince of pain from Fara as she felt she had kicked a super dense and hard shield. Danica disappeared from her place, escaping Faras senses for just a moment, only to face plant the bunny girl in dirt the next second.

"Is that all little bunny?" she whispered playfully in Faras ear, the girls hands already held behind her back and gripped by Danica, a slight pain assaulting Fara as Danica squeezed just a bit harder, showing the difference between their strength "Or is there more you will annoy me with? Come, come. Show me my place! OR are you all bark and no bite?"

Danica's words were like arrows stabbing at both the girls pride and confidence. She had been crushed, there was no other way around it, and that too after boasting of putting the wolf kin in her supposed place. But look at her now- face first in the dirt, pressed down and bound like a helpless prey animal, waiting for its hunter to deliver the killing blow.

"I-I'm sorry." she whispered stuttering a bit, tears forming at the corners of her eyes.

"Good girl." Danica replied, letting go of Faras arms and reaching for playing with the bunny girls ears a bit, with Fara freezing as Danica enjoyed the softness of said ears.

"Fu fu fu." Danica almost giggled "Damn that feels nice." she had barely managed to finish the sentence as Eve was before the duo, almost lunging at their heads, taking Danica's actions as the go signal for her to partake as well, she had been holding back quite a lot till now.

"Thanks sister!" Eve spoke as she enjoyed the fluffiness and softness the ears offered "Damn." Eve cooed "It's so similar to Wari and Sidsal, yet different at the same time. But this is good too."

"Of course it's different." Danica replied "You can't half disappear in her fluff, unlike the falcons. But yes, it does feel good regardless."

"M-mind if we try as well?" suddenly asked Pyra, who was right next to the trio alongside with Emanai, both of their eyes gleaming with desire.

"Sure thing. Enjoy." Danica replied, providing plenty of access for the sisters.

Almost ten minutes later, the girls had had enough of the fluff, finally allowing Fara to get back to her duties and guiding them forward, though the bunny girl looked exhausted. It could even be heard how she muttered that she had been defiled and could no longer marry, an exhausted expression maring her face.

"Sheesh. A quick and cruel way to tame a wild creature. You sure as hell did a fine job of it." Rex praised his girls, earning a questioning look from Eve and a proud one from Danica.

"Be happy that my girls are only fluff enjoyers and just a bit mischievous. Had you been as foolish with someone else of a similar level, you might very well have been used in much worse ways. You are fine enough looking for that." Rex said to Fara, the woman flinching, but a sudden question came into her mind. Why did her fellow people did nothing to stop them from going as far as they did? There were plenty of other bunny people around and in a relative vicinity.

"You must be wondering, why no one came to help you?" Rex smirked knowingly. "It's because they were afraid. Tell me, little bunny, if my wonderful wolfkin is so powerful to deal with you like a child, what would it say about the man who she is with? Do you think that some weakling could earn her attention?"

Rex words were calm, yet they sent a deathly chill down Fara's spine, cold sweat forming on her forehead as numerous horrific scenes flashed in her mind, courtesy of horror stories of the savage creatures and what they would do with those that were captured.

"You are a warrior, not a scout, what makes you think you could ever hope to evaluate people from afar? Foolish little girl." Danica snickered as she held onto Rex, humming happily as she did so. Rex was the best. Not only did he want along with her games, but he was more than happy to let her run wild when she wanted to.

"Don't blame the poor thing too much." sighed Eve "It is the elders who assigned her that should take the blame. Rex had already proved he is more powerful than their mind mage and yet they sent her to work as a guide, without even warning her of the possible danger. The fault lays sorely with them. There is no way they were not aware of the girls character or temperament." she added.

"Hmm, I suppose you are right there." Danica just shrugged, forgetting the whole conversation just moments later.

the group kept on moving forward, with Fara once again back to her explanations about the places of import they passed by. The humbling she experienced, as well as realizing just how dangerous the group besides here were, she had grown much more demure and grounded, almost like a diplomat doing their job. The group could feel numerous gazes on them, some wary, some even openly hostile.

"My, my. It seems our little bunny has some secret admirers." Danica laughed, an evil smirk spreading across her face.

"Let's leave them be for now. At least until they make a stupid move. I dont care to go on a murder spree here. The place is undeniably beautiful. Would hate to spoil the sight with too much blood spilled."

"Too much eh?" Danica smirked "Meaning a bit is fine?"

"In a way, yes, but those fools will present themselves a bit later, I am sure."

  ---------------------

"So, you don't actually know what happened to that king of yours, is that correct?" Rex asked as the group sat around a table filled with all sorts of food, courtesy of his space storage.

"Y-yes. The lord himself headed out one day during his rule, but he had left behind both his wife and the children they had together. Their descendants are our royal family now, leading us for almost a millenia, or so the records say." Fara replied, carefully eyeing the food.

"So, what's with that test then? You have spoken little about it so far."

"It's a gauntlet of sorts, used to test the skills and potential of our very best, rewarding those with outstanding skill and talent. It is said that our king left some sort of inheritance there, stating that only a true genius of our people could obtain it, or more likely that just like him, strangers to our lands would arrive to earn it."

"And what of this royal family of yours?"

"They are in the capital." Fara lifted her hand, pointing towards another island floating in the sky, barely noticeable from their spot. "Only a small portion of our people stay here all the time. That and those either training to undertake the trial themselves or already doing so."

"I did wonder, but there is some sort of a natural barrier set up here isn't it? That's why the top of the mountain, and the capital in turn, are shielded from one's sight if they don't come up all the way here."

  "That is indeed true."

"Now, back to the topic at hand. How strong those royals of yours are? Maybe they have some special techniques passed down from that ruler of old of yours?"

"Y-yes. Their weapons are always incredibly sharp, unreasonably so. Those who have had the chance to see it in action even say that the best of them in this art defy all logic."

"A certain kind of weapon or does not matter?"

"There is no certain weapon that is talked about, only genius descendants."

  "Interesting."

"Did you figure something out Rex?" asked Eve, having paid a lot of attention to their conversation.

"I believe that king of old must have been a LORD candidate, comprehending the concept of metal, reaching ever so close to the world's limits at the time. And he must have been quite the badass if he had managed to figure out a way to pass on at least some of his understanding. That would explain why their weapons are so incredibly sharp."

"And that inheritance at the end of this trial would be the most complete of whatever he had left behind?" Eve added.

"Could be. Might as well be nothing of significance. You know how it goes with A rankers. S rankers are the same, just multiply the scale." Rex just shrugged.

"Oh, we know." Danica added as well, her gaze locked on Rex, a mischievous smile on her face.

  "Indeed you do."

With their meal done with, the group went back to the tour so to say that lasted for another hour, ending with their party having reached the supposed entrance of the trial grounds.

"I am supposed to tell you that we would have to wait for at least a few other groups who would come to challenge the trial, but...." Fara nervously spoke, her eyes shying away from their group, clearly both uncomfortable and slightly scared to tell them the news.

"Two days. We will wait no longer than two days. I have yet to find anything that would be worth wasting more of our time than that. You may pass that along if you need to. Now, show us where we can find some lodgings in the meantime." Rex spoke, his tone calm yet it was obvious that he was not happy about it.

  --------------------------------

"Sheesh! That was a disappointment and a half." Eve sighed, a rather weird orb of rainbow colored metal in her hand. They had waited the two days and as luck would have it, by the end of the second, a rather large group of other outsiders had appeared, having reached the summit as well. Their early arrival had shocked many of the newcomers, some of whom had even tried to find them and have a talk. Needless to say, each and every one of them failed.

"It is better than I expected, truth be told. And besides, you should be able to utilize that knowledge to sharpen your arrows as well, so there is truly no reason for you to be that upset." Rex replied, slightly confused regarding Eve's disappointment.

"It's not the rewards that disappoints me so Rex." Eve rolled her eyes, going into a tirade about how the trial itself was rather monotone and uninspired. "Where are all those things a proper trial is supposed to have huh? Give me back my time damn it! I Deserve better!" she was throwing a tantrum, though only half seriously, the other half joking as she was venting.

"Now, now." Danica patted Eve's shoulder, as if calming the other woman down. "We will find another one somewhere that will fulfill that promise, I guarantee. Rex is a magnet for weird shit after all."

"Wait! You are indeed right!" Eve suddenly exclaimed, her gaze beaming with joy, looking hopefully towards Rex, totally agreeing with Danica. "By the way, how long do you think till someone else reaches that room? And did we loot everything there?"

"Everything of value, yes. Yes we did. As for a time frame for someone else succeeding? No fucking idea." Rex answered, adding something else that had his group looking towards him with raised brows "Though I have to take back my previous statement. With this level of concept comprehension, while qualifying for S rank, there is no way he was an actual LORD candidate. There has to be more than just mana liquifying for that to be the case."

  "So?" Emanai questioned.

"This might as well be the tomb of a false king. At least we saved Emanai and had some fun in the process, so it's not all bad." Rex just shrugged. "Let's go on girls? There has to be something more interesting for us to than just this. Right, you must have some cool dungeons in mind for us to run through, right?" Rex looked towards the elven sisters.

"There are a few that comes to mind." Both answered near instantaneous, giggling just moments later at their won identical response.

"Well, at least know we know for sure that those two are indeed sisters." joked Danica.

"Though, if we are to suggest some dungeons, the first for said list that comes to mind is right besides sect's headquarters. Say Rex." Pyra innocently blinked multiple times, trying to create a cute sort of look for herself, clearly working on some sort of a devious plan.

"Would you be interested to come along and maybee help me in messing with a particularly old bat?"
