In the gentle baptism of dawn, the previously dim dormitory walls and furnishings seemed to come alive, awakening from their nightly slumber.
"I hope I have better options besides mental magic," Lanqi muttered while feeding his animal friends on the balcony, though they probably couldn't understand him.
The Great Poet, as a magic card, while involving rhythm magic, essentially belonged to the [Mental] system since it directly or indirectly affected enemies' minds through rhythms. In fact, most rhythm magic fell under the broader category of mental magic.
Now that Lanqi had reached the third rank and passed the intensive entrance examination, he had some free time after completing the Shadow World trial. Today's pn was to ask Talia to help test if he had better compatibility with any magic types other than [Mental] magic.
"Oh right, I need to buy some potted pnts for home too," Lanqi remembered suddenly, while spreading his palm to feed the chirping birds that kept nodding and pecking at the food.
The Great Poet's would-be pleasant time at the Demon Realm Academy had been disrupted by the cultists. After returning to the real world, Lanqi had summoned her briefly to apologize. Surprisingly, the Great Poet hadn't made any unreasonable demands, only requesting to be let out occasionally to tend to flowers, which Lanqi readily agreed to.
But now thinking about it carefully, with one growing flowers and the other feeding birds, Lanqi felt his dormitory was turning into a natural ecological park.
After feeding the animals, Lanqi returned to the living room, sitting on the sofa and contempting where to have breakfast.
After clearing the fourth-level Shadow World, students were granted two weeks of free time to recover from their extreme exhaustion.
Now Lanqi had almost too much leisure time.
At least two weeks without having to endure the torture from the Sage Academy teachers in the cssroom.
"Maybe I should just go see Master early in the morning," Lanqi thought. He was pnning to visit Talia anyway, not only to consult her about magic compatibility but also to have an enthusiastic discussion about the important research project of "hairstyle transformation magic."
Whenever choosing restaurants with Talia, although she never explicitly stated her preferences, Lanqi could tell from the subtle changes in her pupils whether a pce was "acceptable" or "not quite interesting."
And the pces Talia approved of were always excellent!
Lanqi had basically turned her into a human food detector.
But Talia probably hadn't realized how Lanqi was using her in this way.
Lanqi went to the mirror and took his coat from the wooden standing coat rack, preparing to leave.
The st time they parted, Talia had told Lanqi she would be moving to a new pce.
Since she pnned to stay in the royal capital long-term, staying at an inn would be wastefully expensive, so she had found a new residence.
Lanqi remembered the address was just east of the school, about a fifteen-minute walk away.
"Knock knock."
Just then, someone knocked on the door of Room 101.
"Coming!" Lanqi quickly ran to the entrance.
He wasn't sure who would be knocking on his door so early in the morning, but it was fortunate he hadn't left yet, or they would have come in vain.
He figured once his dormitory address became known and spread around, there would be quite a few people coming to see him even during these days off from csses.
Yesterday when he returned to school, though it wasn't fully light yet, many students had greeted him on the way, making him feel like a celebrity.
It seemed his positive and proactive performance in the Shadow World had earned his cssmates' recognition, and they were also very polite, knowing he needed rest and not disturbing him yesterday.
Lanqi thought about this as he pressed down on the door handle.
As the door opened, he saw a tall, dignified elderly man with silver hair and a white beard standing outside.
"Hello...?"
Lanqi didn't recognize this elderly man, but judging from his attire, he appeared to be a high-ranking professor from their Sage Academy.
Although the old man's high bridge nose and refined facial features were marked with the traces of time, this only made him look more wise and authoritative, with an unfathomable magical aura about him.
If he was a professor, it made sense that he would know which dormitory room was Lanqi's.
"Student Lanqi, don't worry, I just came for a chat," the old man said gently, clearly noting Lanqi's confusion.
"I am Vice Dean Roen of the Sage Academy. You'll be seeing me in css."
Although Lanqi had skipped Vice Dean Roen's st css on the first day of school, which prevented their intended first meeting, and they hadn't met in person until now, Vice Dean Roen had already witnessed many of Lanqi's "brilliant" performances in the Sage Academy's conference room.
"Professor Roen, please come in."
Upon hearing this, Lanqi seemed about to csp his hands behind his back and give a slight nod, preparing to discuss important work matters with the Vice Dean.
But he quickly realized this was Icerite Academy, and he was no longer a principal. He hastily switched roles and very politely invited the visiting Professor Roen into the living room to sit on the sofa.
Lanqi felt a chill, sensing he might be experiencing some Shadow World aftereffects, as he had almost triggered his "principal" mode upon seeing an academy leader.
In the living room.
Roen briefly surveyed the yout of Lanqi's dormitory, which was kept very neat and tidy.
Clearly, Lanqi was a student with excellent living habits who took good care of his dormitory, quite unlike those slovenly and willful students.
However, Lanqi's gentle and courteous demeanor gave Vice Dean Roen a somewhat surreal, science-fiction-like feeling.
It was hard to imagine that this seemingly peaceful, well-mannered young man before him was the same great demon lord who had dominated the demon realm, whom all the Sage Academy teachers had watched in the conference room yesterday.
Roen couldn't help but feel it was fortunate that during the third round of the entrance examination, examiner Fete had encountered the real-world Lanqi who was bound by ws. If it had been the Radiant Demon from the Shadow World instead, Fete would probably have vanished without a trace by now.
Lost in thought, Roen felt as if he was in a different world. He couldn't understand how one person could possess such a perfect duality of light and dark.
But he had to admit that Lanqi was undoubtedly their Sage Academy's most outstanding new student this year.
Perhaps a bit too outstanding.
And accompanied by a level of unpredictability that normal people couldn't fathom.
Of course, the real danger y with those who had yet to understand just how dangerous this student was, and even pnned to provoke him.
