Chapter 91: Lanqi’s Talent Type

Lanqi followed Talia into the room and realized it was her bedroom.

Talia turned on the floor mp on the plush carpet beside the bed, and the soft light reflected off the white walls, making the entire space instantly bright and spacious.

Standing by the door, Lanqi could see an oak cabinet filled with sealed food containers. Under the transparent lids were various pastries like cream puffs, crispy cheese, and mango pancakes, seemingly her companions for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even te-night snacks.

Just a gnce was enough for Lanqi to feel Talia's murderous gre.

  "Don't look around."

It seemed that these sweet treats, so contrary to her personality, were not something she intended for Lanqi to see.

Talia pulled out a small suitcase from under the bed.

With the sound of metal hinges opening, she opened the suitcase, revealing a set of high-end portable card-making tools. Talia then retrieved some card-making materials from the storage cabinet.

  "Sit down."

She pointed to the desk on one side of the bedroom, indicating for Lanqi to take a seat.

She herself sat on the other side of the long table, on the edge of her bed.

"Next, I will create the most basic first-tier semi-finished Magic Cards of various types. I'll teach you a universal spell principle. You just need to complete a very simple step, and I'll complete the rest. From the deviation in the final completion, we can see your affinity with this type of magic."

As Talia spoke, she had already begun working with some of the card-making tools.

"Uh, what if I blow up the card?"

Lanqi seemed to be gncing around the room for fire safety equipment.

If he damaged Talia's bedroom, he wasn't sure what the consequences would be, and there was a shop downstairs to consider.

  "Try it."

Talia lifted her head to stare at Lanqi, her eyes as bright as a cold moon.

Lanqi felt a chill run down his spine; this time, Talia was serious.

"…I won't blow up the card."

Lanqi assured confidently, tightening his grip on the card-making tools.

Despite Talia appearing more stern than ever, Lanqi always upheld the traditional virtue of respecting the elderly, treating the hundreds-year-old dy with kind words.

Talia then ignored him for a while, focusing on her preparations.

Demons treated their apprentices like this; if she was going to teach, she would teach seriously.

Although Talia didn't have much experience as a teacher, she felt that teaching Lanqi, being a human-registered demon, in this way shouldn't be wrong.

Since Lanqi first attempted card-making, she had been observing him, naturally knowing his issues and how to train this talented individual into an excellent card maker.

The biggest problem with this young master was—

Aside from his unusual talent for detonating Magic Cards, his previous card-making state had been too x, which was abnormal.

While a rexed mindset during card-making was enviable among card makers, maintaining such a state indefinitely would lead Lanqi into another trap—being too id-back, with persistently low success rates.

In Talia's view, the "challenge target" and "card-making technique" were the main factors affecting the "card-making state." If the challenge target was too high, the card maker would ck control over themselves and the Magic Cards, resulting in anxiety or frustration; conversely, if the target was too low, the card maker would feel bored and lose interest, making card-making too casual.

The best state of "complete immersion" in card-making mainly occurred when the challenge target and card-making technique were banced.

Since Lanqi liked to stay in a stress-free state where his skills and talents exceeded the challenge, it indirectly led to his nonchant attitude towards card explosions.

Therefore, Talia intended to train Lanqi in the demon way—do it well or die, even beyond death, to pressurize Lanqi's card-making state into a banced one.

Talia showed Lanqi the first semi-finished Magic Card of the "Mental" type she had made.

"I've inscribed the most basic mental influence magic structure for you. You need to embed an additional spell in the array, which can be understood as a supplement or magic identification, to enhance directionality or friend-foe recognition."

As Talia taught Lanqi, she demonstrated how to complete it in front of him,

"This card is for demonstration; the next ones will be entirely up to you to complete."

  Lanqi nodded solemnly.

Talia's patient and gentle expnation was based on the premise that he would absolutely follow instructions and orders.

Any mistakes ter, and he might really be done for.

  Simultaneously.

Lanqi gradually grasped the essence of the demon teaching method he hadn't fully understood at the Demon Academy—

To stimute students' potential in a highly pressured state between life and death.

If he ever needed to guide other students in his school or elsewhere, he could certainly apply this method.

Lanqi was certain his principal duties had become more refined.

  Next.

  The room became silent.

They no longer exchanged words, focusing solely on their tasks, but when passing cards to each other, there was a tacit understanding.

When a person concentrates fully on one thing, they forget the surrounding environment and time, gaining high satisfaction, enjoyment, and experience.

Talia occasionally gnced at Lanqi, confirming that his card-making state had changed from before.

It seemed she'd have to keep a close eye on his teaching in the future.

  ...

Outside the room, the sky was subtly changing.

The bright morning sky had somehow been covered with a faint orange-red, with clouds like torches ignited by the sunset.

The sky's color gradually shifted from azure to violet, then to deep indigo.

The sun slowly sank below the horizon, leaving a twilight.

Until night fell, they continued card-making.

And at this moment in Talia's room.

  Accompanied by gentle breathing.

Lanqi was already asleep, lying on the table with a face as innocent as a baby's.

Whether it was due to intense focus or the pressure Talia exerted, he dared not rex, not even realizing he had reached his limit. After completing the final card and handing it to Talia, he lowered his head and fell into a slumber on the table.

Talia looked at the stack of Magic Cards on the table, which were also the test results—

Besides the "Mental" type magic, the "Healing" type was also retively good. Among all elemental magics, only "Light" was barely acceptable, but not particurly outstanding.

The other minor types of magic, their affinity was mostly as pessimistic as Talia initially observed with "Curse" and "Poison."

However, there was one Magic Card inscribed with a colorless rune, shining brightly and distinctively.

This was proof of excellent affinity.

After Talia tested all the magic types that could be categorized, she indeed found the one magic type with which Lanqi had exceptional affinity.

Talia picked up this card, her expression somewhat complex.

"This guy's best suited for 'Sealing' magic…"

She looked at Lanqi's naturally sleeping face, feeling that his novice level would greatly improve after the registered card maker exam.
