Chapter 0 Prologue

  {{Kingdom of Zaidi is a small Kingdom in the desert continent. Rainfall here is minimal and ground water sources are scarce. People here are in poverty. Only the 4 main cities are relatively well of. The Kingdom is ruled by his highness King Avdi of Huss Family. The king is a generous and honorable man but his sons the princes are desperate for the crown. The first Prince Azzam is most likely to win the power struggle as he has the nobles supporting him. The second prince Mozzan has indulged into poetry and arts which led him to loose favour with the nobles. The third prince is battle hearted warrior who has the support of kingdoms military. If he wanted he could have taken the throne right away. But he chooses to avoid bloodshed.

  Kingdom of Hosam is also a small Kingdom to the south of Kingdom of Zaidi. Although they are a smaller nation, they have the natural resources. After discovery of gold mines in Kingdom's eastern districts the neighbouring countries as well as internal politics have weakened their power. But their king, King Guhouy of renfir family has somehow consolidated his position and power by forming alliances with a few countries. They are at odds with Kingdom of Zaidi and mostly indulge in border skirmishes with neither side getting a upper hand.

  Our story begins in..

  Shauk Village, Kingdom of Zaidi near the Border of Kingdom of Hosam.

  Laud cries fill the air, fire set in storehouses and fields. Hosam's cavalry have raided the village. A mother is seen hiding her 2 children( both are male, one is 6 years old and the other is 2) in a barrel behind the house. It seems like children are drugged to induce sleep. They don't wake up to the noises and cries outside. The drum looks like an old water tank made out of wood.

  Before leaving them, the mother takes out her locket around her neck, breaks it in half and puts it over the neck of her older son. Saying " Hope you find a way out of this mess, my loved ones. Please go as far away as possible, Here's something to remember me by. Don't ever come to look for me."

  The elder son Janed hears it. It's like a dream for him. But he is unable to move. He's just there half awake-half asleep, unable to understand why his mother has forsaken him and his brother.

  All during the night, the Hostile armies have ransacked every home, killed every man and took all women and children as captives, probably to sell as slaves.

  Next morning, Kingdom's ace forces* arrive at Shauk village.

  General Dali "Such atrocities committed against civilians. Why did they send their elites* to this small village? Find out how were they able to get in avoiding border petrols. Make a report of all the dead. It's hopeless to rebuild here"

  Such was the case for this small village. It's very far from the capital city of Assaf. It was mostly used as a resting spot for people travelling between kingdoms and for petrol squads. But as war began people had started to flee fearing their lives. Just a few dozen people had remained here.

  Soldier"General we found someone living. There were noises coming from that barrel, upon inspection, we found these two"

  General Dali "How did you survive? I will need you to tell me what happened here."

  Janed crying " All I heard was cries and mother saying to stay silent. She then feed us some wierd tasting water and put us in that drum."

  General Dali " Both of you are coming with me. I'll take you somewhere safe."

  * Ace forces are regional forces under generals. They are first line of defense against enemy mostly positioned at key locations along the border

  * Elites are group of military specialising in abduction and assassinations.
