“Nyx, you have everything you need” Mom said when I got into the carriage.

  “Yes, and if I don’t, there is nothing I can't buy if I need it” I say.

  We were on our way to the academy district. With me I had a suitcase with the basic things I needed before school started.

  The strange thing was that I was wearing the uniform for men. Mom had bought both of them for me.

  I was going to use school as a time to think about some things, including this.

  Mom and dad were understanding.

  As the carriage went through the streets of the capital, I could see several other students in uniform going into the academy district.

  This was a very exciting time for me.

  I had been looking forward to starting school for a really long time.

  The first day today only had a few things. We moved into the dorms, had a homeroom css, and the entrance ceremony. After that, anyone who wanted to check out some electives, they had the chance.

  Real csses started tomorrow.

  Quickly, mom and I made our way into the academy district, and she dropped me and Rose off. Rose had been with us the whole time, but she never really talked when I was with my parents.

  I jumped out of the carriage and went into the back to grab my suitcase. Inside mainly was my training uniform and my other school uniform. I also had the books I had already bought for my main csses.

  The way csses worked was that everyday, you had three main csses with your whole homeroom, then you had one with your sub-css, which was my combat css. Then you had a few choices of electives.

  You could take as many electives you could fit into the day, or you could do other things during that time.

  In the game, there was no day system, just the story. The electives were things like alchemy or weapon smithing, things that were the side skills in the system. You could take these csses as much as you wanted in between the story events to level up those skill trees.

  I never really cared about any of those things in the game yet, but now that it was my life, I thought about giving them a chance.

  As for other csses in the game, you could do them as well. The combat csses could give bonus skills if you did them enough, some of which I wanted before going hunting.

  The real problem was that they didn’t give Pyer EXP, and they gave a set amount of weapon EXP. This just made hunting far more efficient to level up.

  “Ok, Nyx, please remember to write. I know it's going to be hard being away from home” Mom said. She pulled me into a hug, and continued, “But you can do this. I believe in you”

  “I know mom” I said, hugging her back.

  With that, we said our goodbyes and Rose and I made our ways to the dorms.

  Like the csses, the dorms were split into 6 buildings, one for each css. The buildings held the dorms for all 5 years of students for each css, so they were quite big. Since Rose was in the A css, she was going into a different building. I said bye to her for now and headed into my own building.

  “Welcome to the S css dorms” A woman said to me as I walked in. She was a tall woman with a rge build. “I am the dorm mother, you can call me Mama Mia. Can I have your name?”

  “Nyx von Blut” I told her.

  “Oh, yeah. Lilith's younger… Lilith said she had a younger sister?” Mama Mia said.

  “Oh, well… it's complicated” I responded.

  “Well, anyway. First years are on the top floor. Your room is beled. Welcome to the S css Dorm” She tells me.

  From there I head up the several flights of stairs to the top floor. I could see several other people with staff putting things into their rooms. I didn’t have anyone helping me, so I just looked for the room with my name on it.

  When I found it, I opened the door and pced my bag inside. I then grabbed my book bag, deciding to head right over to the cssroom.

  Looking around my room as I leave, I see how nice it is. There were several amenities in the room, including a small kitchenette. There was also a magical washing machine and dryer. These worked the same as the ones I knew from earth, but with magic.

  There were a number of things like that in Starcross Adventure.

  I had nothing else to do here, so I left quickly.

  The dorm was close to the school buildings. When I came for my css assignment, I learned where the cssroom was for Css 1-S so I headed right there.

  And I was the first person to the css as well.

  Picking a random seat, I sit and wait for the rest of my css.

  ∴

  It was a decent amount of time before the rest of the css started coming into the room.

  I didn’t know a lot of these people, but I did recognize a few from the game. Some random characters with interesting side quests, or who you could romance. A few characters in the game story. But for the most part, there are a bunch of people I don’t recognize.

  This was expected. There was only a set like 7 or 8 named people in the css and they're all here.

  This was so you could always have your pyer character in S css if you made it here.

  I can already see a few interesting side quests I might want to do, like dealing with the Elf succession war with the prince and his older half sister.

  But when I pay closer attention, I notice that there are three elves in the room. There shouldn’t be that many elves, since only nobles were sent here and the elves don’t have children that often, since they are a long lived race.

  So two extra elves were strange.

  Other things I noticed was an extra prince for Stardom, which was also interesting.

  I knew I wasn’t the only person from earth in the world, but having possibly three this close to me was strange.

  It made me think about how to deal with a lot of things going forward.

  Eventually, Emily also came into the room.

  She looked around the seats and found me.

  She then rushed right over to me.

  “Nyx von Blut, why are you already here? We could have walked over to css together” she said loud enough we drew the attention of the entire css. She looked me up and down, and spoke again. “And what are you wearing?”.

  I just shrunk down into my seat while everyone was watching me.

  ∴

  “Allright students, it's time we make our way over to the auditorium. Our css is right up front, so I expect you all to behave yourselves.” Ms. Stormviel said to our css.

  From there she led us out to the auditorium.

  She was right, the front of it was meant for the S css students. The entrance ceremony was only special for the first years, but the rest of the grades were there as well.

  We filled the first row. After we sat down several other students sat down behind us and eventually this filled the whole auditorium.

  Only when that was done, did the headmaster, Elenda Ganodel, come out and start her speech.

  There were three main speeches during the entrance ceremony, including one from the headmaster, one from the css representative and one from the current student body president.

  The headmaster started her speech about the tradition of the academy and how happy she was to see so many different nations represented in her students again this year.

  Based on the game, there should be around 5 different princes or princesses represented, minus the ones from this country, most of them in my year.

  From there, Aric came out to give his speech. He gave a speech about how excited he was to study in such an excellent academy, with so many people to challenge how good we are at everything, stating that this is a pce devoid of your status. The only thing that matters is how smart and strong you are.

  He also spent a long time alluding to someone specific who he saw as his rival already.

  When he was done, he came off the stage and joined our css.

  At this point in the game, it would zoom out to the title screen and start Chapter 1 of the game.

  As the student council president was called forward, I heard something interesting.

  “Now for the student council president, Lilith von Blut”

  It was Lilith. I knew she was running for the presidency, but I had not heard if she had won yet.

  She walked onto the stage and when she saw me in the front row, gave a small wave.

  This was the first time I had seen her in 4 years. She looked mostly the same, but was somehow more mature. She had grace as she walked. And somehow, her hair shone.

  She gave an easy speech about responsibility as students. It was simple.

  Hers was the only speech not in the game, since the title screen came before this, and the student council didn’t matter in game until chapter 2.

  As she finished, the csses were dismissed and we were allowed to head back to our csses.

  But when we left the auditorium, I got a message from the status system.
