My day with mom was a lot of fun.

  We went through a lot of the noble district. She showed me all of the cool parks and outside gardens. All of it was so beautiful.

  But the houses also drew my attention. THe noble district was mostly houses for the affluent. But they were also beautifully designed. The buildings you couldn’t enter in the game weren’t given that much time, but now that the game was real, it was a world of difference.

  After going through the noble district, mom told the coach driver to take us to the merchant district.

  THis was what mom had always pnned on us doing.

  Not only did she need to buy some things for Lilith’s time at school, but shopping with me was one of moms favorite pastimes.

  She took me to several different clothes stores. There she had me try on a myriad different outfits.

  It was a bst.

  We ended up buying a bunch of different sets and set them to be delivered to the mansion.

  IN between the several clothing stores, we also stopped at a few book stores. Mom was picking up books fot Lilith, for the basic csses she would be taking. During that time, I also checked out the story books they had.

  My nguage tutor, Mr Swartz, recommended that I read while I was in the capital.

  He didn’t care what I read, but I would need to summarize the books to him when I got back.

  He wasn’t the only tutor to give me work on the break.

  Ms. Bennet gave me a few historical texts I needed to read and answer some questions on.

  And Mr. Cameron had given me a few books of problems he wanted me to solve.

  It did really remind me of being back in school in my past life.

  Looking through the books, I found a few that seemed good and asked mom to buy them for me.

  THe other pces we went seemed boring to me, so I stayed with Mr. Brentwood during those stops.

  He was a very sweet man.

  He also knew a lot about my father, and loved telling stories about when he was younger.

  Thanks to him, I learned a lot more about what my father went through when he was younger.

  I came out with a much deeper respect for my father. Not that I didn't respect him before.

  And much like Lilith did st night, I started calling Mr. Bentwood grandpa, since he was the closest thing dad had to a father.

  ∴

  Later that day, Mom had us stop at one more clothing store.

  “Ok, Nyx, this is our st stop for today” she told me, guiding me out of the carriage.

  It was already te in the day, nearing dinner time. Walking into the store, It was a much fancier store than the others.

  But what really drew my eye was that they had a dispy in the front window.

  The male and female uniforms for the royal magic academy.

  The male uniform was a jacket and a dress shirt and tie. THe jacket was a dark color with the royal magic academy crest on the back. It had a pair of pants and shoes.

  The female uniform was a knee length dress with long sleeves. It was the same color as the jacket from the men's uniform, with the crest on the front breast pocket instead. The uniform also came with stockings that went to the mid thigh in the same color as the dress. It also had a pair of heeled boots for shoes.

  My guess was that this is where you bought the uniform. Mom most likely sent in Liliths dress measurements and came to pick the uniform up.

  “Nyx, why don’t you go look at some other clothes while I talk to the matron” mom told me.

  The store did not have any customers at the counter, so mom went to talk to the women behind it.

  While she was doing that, I looked around the store. They had manikins in several different outfits on dispy.

  All of them looked very nice.

  While I was looking at a dress, I caught something in the corner of my eye.

  Or someone.

  I turned to look at her.

  She was about the same age as me, something I knew for a fact. She had light blue hair tied into a side ponytail, a childish form of what she would eventually style as. And I couldn’t see them now, but she had sky blue eyes.

  She was standing next to a woman who must be her mother, based on her hair color.

  While I was staring, my mom came over to me.

  “What are you looking at so intensely?” Mom asked, looking over at the mother and daughter as well. “Oh, if it isn’t Sharon” mom said. With that, the mother looked over at us. When she saw mom, she came over to us.

  “Cordelia, it’s been years!” She said.

  “Yes it has, how have you been?” Mom asked her.

  “I’ve been fine, how about you?”

  “I’ve been great. And let me guess, this is your daughter?”

  “Yes it is”

  “Oh, and I should introduce you. Sharon, this is Nyx, and Nyx, this is my old friend Sharon Frost, and her daughter…”

  I didn’t need my mother to tell me the daughter's name. She was one of the main characters of Starcross Adventure.

  The empress of Ice.

  “Princess Emily von Stardom”

  Emily was the strongest character in terms of ice magic in the game. If you didn’t add her to your party, she was the only party member/pyable character who would reach a proficiency of around 70 during the base game.

  “It’s good to meet you” Emily said to me.

  This terrifies me to the point I try to hide behind my mom.

  “Hello” I was barely able to say. The reason for this was simple.

  On top of being one of the best party members in the game, she is also the main yuri route in the game. She was super easy to date as long as you spent time with her, and were a girl.

  In fact, she was the only romance my character Nyx had when I pyed the game.

  I hadn’t thought of what I would do if I ran into other characters from the game, and the first one I see is the one I dated in game.

  “Oh, you’re quite shy aren’t you” mom said, rubbing my head.

  “It’s alright, it’s not everyday you meet someone as cute as my Emily” Sharon said.

  “Or even a consort of the king” mom said.

  This pulls me back out of my head after meeting Emily.

  It reminded me of who Sharon must be.

  “Your one of the kings wives”I say without thinking.

  “That is a very nice way of putting it” she said with a mencholic smile.

  In all honesty, what I said was very insensitive.

  Polygamy was a completely acceptable thing in the world. This was so the game could have harems without any weird implications.

  But in the lore, the king had several wives. They were all for either political or military reasons, except for one.

  The only wife he loves is the queen. This also means the only kids of his he loves are the queens kids.

  But, most of the other wives did love him. This would include Sharon.

  Sharon was chosen as one of the consorts for 2 reasons. One was her knowledge of magic. Before she was a consort, she had become a court mage.

  The other reason was the bloodline trait, which made her, and by extension Emily, very strong ice mages.

  She fell in love with the king, but he would never love her back.

  After making my comment, I hid behind my mom again while she and Sharon spoke. When I was hiding, I could see Emily trying to look at me.

  Eventually mom said, “well, we should be heading home. It was good seeing you Sharon. And you, Ms. Emily”

  “It was good to see you, Cordelia. And nice meeting you Nyx” Sharon said.

  And then as we were walking away, Emily spoke up, “Bye Nyx”, she said in a cheerful tone.

  This made mom giggle as we made it back to the carriage.

  ∴

  Hadron was in a conference in the castle. Looking around the room, he figures that this meeting is not in fact about him, or his territory.

  There were several other noble in the room.

  And when he asked them, they had no clue what this meeting was about.

  Eventually, three new people entered the room. It was the king, the queen and one of there twin sons, the prince Micheal.

  When he entered the room, the king spoke up.

  “I am sorry for calling you all here, but there is something that you all must know.” The king started. “You are all the nobles who were set to be in the capital today. But you are going to be the first to hear this. This is not the formal announcement, but my intentions. My son here, Micheal, is my choice for the next king. And the reason for that is a special ability he manifested 2 years ago. Micheal you can expin from here”.

  The room was deadly quiet with what the king said.

  The normal right of succession is based on a few things, but it was normally one of the older siblings. But that was not Micheal. In truth, the twins and one other of the king's children were all much younger than his other children.

  But if what he said was true, and Micheal did have an unknown ability, then it could make sense.

  “Thank you father.” The child starts. “Two years ago, I awoke the ability to see the future”

  ∴

  After Nyx and Cordelia had left the clothing store, Sharon had spoken to her daughter.

  “Well well, I have not seen you like that before” Sharon said.

  “What do you mean?” Emily said, embarrassed.

  “You have meet how many people, and have you ever cared to say bye to them”

  Sharon was right. Emily had lived as the unloved princess. She was used purely has a political piece by her father, and because of that, she did not like people.

  “She was just so cute” Emily said with a huge smile. “She was shy and embarrassed. She could barely say a word. I thought it would be fun to bully her”

  “Well, maybe I should have a conversation with Count Blut about a engagement”

  This gets Emily to frown. “Mom, I can’t. We're both girls. I know my role in the world”

  “Well, I think you need to understand two things. Two girls could definitely get married, and Nyx there was not a girl”

  This gets a stare from Emily.

  “You see. The Blut house does have a daughter, but she is 15 this year. Nyx is their son. Cordelia just has a thing about girls”

  With that, the conversation ended. Emily had gotten excited about what would come next. She knew that most likely she would not see Nyx again until their debut ceremony, in 2 years.

  But, it would be almost exactly 4 years to the day that the two would meet again.
