Ten thousand strands of light erupted from his body, crossing space faster than a bolt of lightning. Every ship they struck, every E Rank fighter they touched, were obliterated in the blink of an eye. That was not enough for Sam, however, and with another howl, he lost himself to Dao Juggernaut. His body swelled with might, and his mind diminished with it. For the next few seconds, he lost himself to his rage. When he came to, he stood on top of a shattered mountain range, a rain of blood falling all across the surface of the planet. His entire body was coated in the vital fluid, and when he sniffed at the air, it was all he could smell.
Gazing out at the desolate ruins of Earth, devoid of life save for his own, Sam learned an important lesson. If you were going to make an example, it had better be a good one. Had he just been a few days earlier, he could have saved everyone. But that was not to be, and his only hope was to prevent that from happening in the real world.
The vision faded away, but its effect did not. When Sam awoke in the real world, he felt tears coursing down his face, tears of sadness, but also of rage.
You have upgraded your Dao!
Dao Seed of the Avenger(Third Step)
You are the bulwark that stands between your people and the reaper. The shield, and the sword that prevents the hungry tide of evil from devouring them. Not only this, you are the one who reclaims their honor when all else fails. Such strength and conviction merits the accolade of the Avenger. Take your new power in hand, and hunt those who dare to attack you and yours. However, vengeance untrammeled is the surest path to one’s demise, and in your pursuit of righteousness, you must know when to stop in your path lest you become worse than those who you punish. Nevertheless, sometimes, the transgressions of your enemies are too egregious for anything but a response in kind. Make an example of those who dare to oppose you, and ensure that it never happens again.

His body swelled as power from his Dao entered it, and well over a thousand points were allocated into his stats at once. Sam smiled as new power filled his body, mind and soul. With an even wider smile, he opened his stats. His layer quest updated, sending a smaller, but still significant boost to his stats. There were only two more left on Prax, and he intended to complete them all.

Sam’s new power filled him to the brim with boundless energy. He felt like he could break a mountain in half with a single strike of his hand, which in all fairness, he probably could by now. The best part of it all was that he still had almost five hundred points to allocate, which would turn into over a thousand once all of his titles were taken into account.
This state of arrogance only lasted for a moment, though, as he remembered his task. To face down a D Ranker, and somehow survive. Although he knew that the final boss of the Tower was a D Ranker, and that if he ever reached that layer, he would have to face it as an E Ranker, he was far from ready to do so now. Besides, Granthar was not a newly ascended D Rank cultivator. He had lived for thousands of years with that level of power, and was dozens of levels above the minimum for his Rank. Just avoiding death from a single strike would be a herculean task.
Sam decided to wait until he got a better look at the king’s fighting abilities before he allocated his stats, but he was most likely going to use them for Resilience. None of his other stats would help much against someone so much stronger than he was. The only way out was to survive.
