[Kim POV]
We got to the cafeteria and got our food without anything happening. My pte had a lot of food on it because of how my appetite works now. Other than some odd looks I got, breakfast was quiet. The Doctor told us that tomorrow she had other tests or patients to deal with so Gale and I would be on our own. The rest of the day was more of the same as we tried to get my esper ability to show on the orb again. I had another dream about not being In control of my body, but this time I saved a man in one of the green uniforms here.
We are now back in a boxing ring only this one is not in the b, but in the gym which is empty for some reason. We go for a few rounds and I still haven't managed a good hit on him yet, but he seems distracted so it's now or never. I throw a left hook trying to catch Gale off guard and as it is about to hit I only catch air. After my failed attempt I now have a good look at the ceiling and Gale holds out a hand to help me up.
"I thought I had you that time."(Kim)
"No it's still too early for you to get a hit on me even if I'm distracted."(Gale)
"And you said I was making progress."(Kim)
"You are it's just I have way more experience than you, but I have something I want to ask you Kim."(Gale)
"Ok shoot."(Kim)
"How do you ask someone out?"(Gale)
Why am I the one they are asking about this?
"Hate to tell you I've been single all my life."(Kim)
"Sorry."(Gale)
"It's fine, so who do you want to ask out?"(Kim)
I have an idea but I want to hear him say it.
"Lily."(Gale)
"Who's that?"(Kim)
I ask genuinely confused. It could only be one person, but in my mind her name is Doctor.
"The Doctor."(Gale)
"Oh, I didn't know her name."(Kim)
"I forgot you wouldn't know"(Gale)
"So why not just do it and ask her out."(Kim)
"What if she says no!"(Gale)
He shouts embarrassed. Back to this train of thought. Seriously why are they both like this?
"So you are going to wait around for someone else to ask her first?"(Kim)
"No!"(Gale)
"Ok then when are you going to ask her out?"(Kim)
"I don't know, can't I just hope she asks me out"(Gale)
"And if she doesn't?"(Kim)
I know she will, but a retionship is a two-way street I can't let him be only on the receiving end. He is in deep thought over my words before speaking again.
"I don't think I could take that."(Gale)
He spoke in a quiet voice only audible because there was no other sound.
"What was that? I can't hear yooou."(Kim)
I say while holding my hand to my ear.
"I can't take that!"(Gale)
Finally some confidence. I smiled at the progress he had made.
"So what are you going to do?"(Kim)
"I will ask her out!"(Gale)
"Good."(Kim)
"You know for someone who cims to have always been single you are good at this"(Gale)
"I get that a lot. so how are you going to do it."(Kim)
"I don't know, but I will start to think how."(Gale)
"Well besides today I think she will be studying me and helping me unlock my esper power so I can help"(Kim)
"Thanks if I need your help for whatever I do, I'll let you know"(Gale)
"What other tests does she have going on?"(Kim)
They had to be important as she was forced away from me and Gale.
"Just some basic tests on live monsters she has to be there in case one tries to escape"(Gale)
"Wait there are live monsters in a training base?"(Kim)
"Yes we have espers fight them to get them used to it."(Gale)
"I get that, but isn't that too dangerous for someone who just got their powers?"(Kim)
"We don't just throw them in we make sure they have a way out and someway to restrain the monsters."(Gale)
"Well if you're sure."(Kim)
"I am. Now let's continue for a bit longer I have to help with one of those live combat tests and I don't want to be rusty."(Gale)
We started to spar again and combat-mode Gale wiped the floor with me Am I really making progress? maybe my transformation would help if I ever figure it out. As soon as I thought that a bell rang.
"And with that time is up."(Gale)
"If you have to go what should I do?"(Kim)
"You could try to access more of your ability. All you have to do is remember how the orb made you feel when you touched it."(Gale)
"The Doctor told me to be careful about trying to rush it."(Kim)
"You probably don't have to worry about that this is just the next step in the bigger prosses. But if you don't want to you could explore the base.
"Will that not be a problem because of pces I'm not supposed to be?"(Kim)
"There are but someone will stop you if you aren't supposed to be there and if you get lost just ask for directions to the Doctor's b. I will pick you up for lunch."(Gale)
"Ok."(Kim)
"With that, I'm off."(Gale)
Now alone I decide to look around the base and familiarize myself with the yout. As I'm looking around I find myself in a courtyard and can see a mountain in the distance that I recognized. It feels like someone is following me. I turn around only to see two guards standing at attention. Maybe Gale has someone keeping an eye on me just in case.
[Brick POV]
That was close she almost spotted me. But it looks like she is alone. The blood witch and little soldier boy are both busy for the rest of the day so now is by chance for some payback. I pull out the shard of the cocoon broke it in half and make a small monster beetle eat one. Then I throw it in the courtyard. soon enough the monster is now the size of a bus and nds next to that blue-haired vermin.
[Kim POV]
What is going on!? A giant bug that looks like a cross between a stag and Hercules beetle is now in front of me, but before I can do anything I was thrown away by the guards I just saw. As I get up to compin about the rough treatment I'm met with a sight I have only seen from movies and shows. One of my two defenders is now missing an arm below his elbow.
"DAMN MY ARRM!"(Guard 1)
"Damn use this belt to stop the blood flow!"(Guard 2)
But before he could get the belt to his friend something pulled him towards the monster bug.
"Hey what's happening nonononononono!"(Guard 2)
He was then run through by the horn of the now charging creature the one-armed man did not fare better. With my would-be defenders now dead I look at the monster with shock only to be broken out of it by ughter and turn to see Brick with a crazed look on his face.
"HAHAHAHA they didn't st very long, did they!"(Brick)
"Why are you ughing they're dead!"(Kim)
I said with anger in my voice.
"I know and soon so will you. Teach may be dumb but he is good at keeping people away."(Brick)
As he said that in a sadistic tone, I look to see the 6'5 man blocking one of the exits. Now it was obvious this was all Brick's pn.
"Why did you do this!?"(Kim)
"Why that's obvious payback for that humiliation you gave me yesterday! If you or that wimp gave me the cocoon this wouldn't be happening!"(Brick)
Two people are dead because his small ego was hurt! My brain was trying to get over that people had died to protect me. For them, this was now the new norm for this world but for me, I had not gotten used to people fighting and dying in an instant. The truth of the world hadn't stuck in my mind yet.
"Now it is time to end this before any more people show up."(Brick)
I look to see the beetle start to move again like it was being controlled by Brick. The bodies of the guards are tossed to the side like garbage and the beetle charges at me. All I can hear is Brick ughing at the dead and I snap.
"HHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA LOOK HOW THEY FLY NOW YOU CAN JOIN THEM AND DIE!"(Brick)
HE CAN'T GET AWAY WITH THIS I WON'T LET HIM GET AWAY EVEN IF I HAVE TO CHASE HIM DOWN HE WON'T GET AWAY! I DON'T CARE HOW LONG IT TAKES HIS DEATH WON'T BE EASY! My body starts to transform and I stop the beetle with one hand and use the cws that are longer than before to cut off its head. Now time for the real insect!
[Jill POV]
As I try to read this complicated map that has lines all over it I feel Kim through the connection stronger than before. Oh no this isn't good. The loss I felt before was still there, but this burning hot rage is completely overshadowing it. I decide the map was a loss and made a beeline in the direction of Kim's presence.
