Haran faced the projector and started,
" As you all know Beast Hunters are Ranked between 1 to 9 , similarly Beasts also have ranks from 1 star to 9 stars "
He clicked a button and the slide changed showing a classification.
" We divide these ranks into three stages
Low : from 1 star to 3 stars
Intermediate: from 4 to 6 stars
Advanced : from 7 to 9 stars
With each transition from one stage to another the strength and ability of a beast increases immensely "
He again changed the slide
" Finally beasts also have talent divisions.
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Dark gold and Platinum there are above platinum too but even Dark Gold beasts are too rare in our region "
" G-1 hunters can only contract with Bronze Beast cards, untill they upgrade that bronze beast card to Silver and finally earns qualifications to contract other Silver Beast cards....
......
And like so G-3 hunters can directly contact Gold Beast cards which is a major advantage as 1-star Gold Beast Cards are as strong as 2-star Bronze beast cards "
Teacher Haran went on with his lecture and a low commotion broke out in the class on the difference between talents.
Ryuu also sighed " It is a lot easier to become stronger with a good talent "
One by one the classes ended and finally at 12 noon the ending bell Rang, The schedule was kept short from 8 to 12 to give the students a chance to focus on their strength increase.
" Do you know any place nearby with good Beast Researchers " Han Ryuu asked Ren as they were going out from the academy.
The three cards he had were not normal Bronze Beasts they were genetically modified by him to gain good abilities.
He had produced their zygotes carefully and finally got them into this world inside a rift from similar monsters belly, it was a very tiring and dangerous task he had to hire two guards for a long time.
But something was wrong.
Despite the enhancements embedded deep in their genetic code, the modifications remained dormant. The beasts showed no sign of the abilities he had designed for them. After weeks of frustration and study, he finally arrived at a chilling realization: the alterations required a catalyst. A trigger. And in the end, he found the answer in a simple but precise mutation—just enough to awaken the sleeping power within.
"I did check one out for my future upgrades," Ren said after a moment's thought. "But they only had prints for some of the more common Bronze Card Beasts."
He paused, glancing at his companion with growing curiosity. "Anyway, you haven’t shown me your Card Beasts yet. Did you buy something cool?"
Ren's eyes lit up with genuine interest. Despite being limited to Bronze-tier Beasts , he knew that Han Ryuu had money and some of the rarer Bronze Beast Cards could rival even lousy Silver Cards—especially if someone had the money to dig deep.
"Well, they’re special… even if they don’t look like it," Ryuu said casually, as he reached out for them.
A dark green seal shimmered beside his hand. With a smooth motion, he reached in and drew out three cards, passing them to Ren.

Ren squinted at the cards, trying to make sense of Ryuu’s cryptic comment. But the moment his eyes landed on the beasts, his expression twisted into disbelief.
"Holy crap, dude—did you get robbed or something? Even I have better ones than this!"
He snatched up the cards one by one, waving them in mock outrage. "For god’s sake—a White Wolf? A Desert Scorpion? And what the hell is this—a goddamn Pot Vine? Bro, it’s all trash! You got scammed!"
Ren stared at Ryuu, eyes wide, like he was witnessing a tragedy unfold. "I told you to study more. You should’ve listened!"
His shock was absolute after all Pot Vine was used as a fkn decoration and bug reppelent in some gardens.
Ryuu flinched inwardly. What do you know… how hard I worked to get them? Ren’s words hit harder than they should have, but Ryuu kept his expression neutral.
"You’ll understand their worth when the time comes," he said coolly, patting Ren’s shoulder as they stepped through the automatic glass door into the shop.
The Counter was a bit rugged but totally clean of dust and dirt, there were many materials one the shelf for sale, finally Ryuu caught the sight of a middle aged guy at the Counsultation table.
He was deep in discussion with two girls, both dressed in academy uniform , probably negotiating a mutation deal.
"I brought you a rich kid this time, Old Ma," Ren declared with , voice lowered but still just loud enough to be heard. "Make sure I get a discount later".
Ryuu was speechless this guy was brazen even more so then him,
' well that is the reason we hit it off so good ' he smiled after all even including his past lifes 29 years this guy was his first best friend.
The man known as Old Ma looked up as the soft chime of the door faded.
"Welcome," he said with a nod, his voice calm but carrying the subtle authority of someone who had seen a thousand customers before them. "What can I do for you?"
The two girls at the table were now deep in discussion, likely deciding on what print to go with, which gave him a moment to turn his attention fully to the newcomers.
Ryuu stepped forward and gave Old Ma his Beast Cards. "Do you have a mutation print for these?" he asked. "Even a basic one will do."
There was no hesitation in showing the cards. In this world, Beast Cards were bound—imprinted directly to their owner’s consciousness. No one else could use them, and Ryuu could recall them instantly to his conscious world if needed. It was safe…
Old Ma took the cards and gave them a quick, glance. Then he looked up—not at Ryuu, but at Ren.
The look in his eyes was easy to read. This is the ‘rich kid’ you mentioned? Why does he looks poorer than you?
Ren scratched the back of his neck, suddenly feeling awkward, he was innocent he had seen Ryuu spend big money with his own eyes, who knew this guy would choose such cards.
Old Ma gave a light chuckle, shaking his head.
"You’re in luck. I do have basic—and even some advanced—mutation prints for these. Not surprising, really. These are among the most common local types."
Ryuu’s eyes lit up. So there were perks in picking up weaklings afterall!
"Excellent," Ryuu said, nodding. "Please use the print that takes the least time for all three."
Old Ma raised an eyebrow, glancing at the cards again. "I can do that—but just so you know, the strength boost from these prints won’t be much. Are you sure you want to go ahead?"
Ryuu met his gaze. "It’s fine. They’ve already undergone a mutation once. This time, they just need a little push."
That caught Old Ma’s interest, as in his eyes there doesn't seem any mutation on them though he didn’t pry. He gave a short nod, then turned and disappeared into the back lab, the cards in hand. "Give me about two hours," he called over his shoulder.
With nothing to do but wait, Ryuu and Ren sank into the cushy sofa.
Ren leaned in, eyes narrowing. "Wait a sec—when did you mutate them before? I didn’t see any changes on the cards."
"It’s… complicated," It was all Ryuu could explain, but he was also nervous for all his hard work after all he wasn't sure how it will turn out for safety he had prepared three cards.
Just then, a fragment of conversation drifted over from the two girls still seated near the consultation table.
"Let’s go with the fire one," one of them said. "It’ll be useful against the Brown Back Spiders."
Ryuu and Ren exchanged a glance.
Ren leaned forward with casual curiosity. "You joining the City Union’s raid in the Qinglin Rift this time?"
The girls turned their heads, sizing them up. When they noticed the same academy uniform and the Class B badge pinned on Ren’s chest, their guarded expressions softened.
"Yeah," the girl on the right said with a nod. "They’re paying a decent amount this time. And whatever cards you earn in there is Yours to keep."
Ryuu was also interested, he was finally ready to take up some practical practice.
Soon a conversation broke out they all introduced themselves, the girl who spoke mostly was
Zhao Yuning and the other one was
Lin Qianyu, they were both from the same class.
Finally it was decided that they will all form a team to hunt together, after making a chatting group the girls left.
Ren and Ryuu anxiously waited for the results.
