Chapter 13

  Cordelia

The teacher chose the students that will fight at random, meanwhile Zariah will stay on the side as the medic of sorts.

I know she's a magical genius... So I probably should have expected she's in charge of healing and all.

Oh right. Practically both of them are 'magic.' However mana is the only thing used in the magic subjects... Potions as well but that's a different topic.

Aura meanwhile is earned by honing your body... It improves endurance, stamina, strength, and I think proficiency with their weapon?

Okay the people does not need that information Cordelia.

Alright moving on, let's get back to the scene alright?

A student got hurt from one of the fights, but Zariah was quite quick to action... Actually I'm only noticing this now but that stupid prince has been staring at her this whole time.

Thanks to a student getting hurt, I expected the teacher to stop this madness, but no. He just had to call my name— WAIT WHAT?! I'M NEXT?!

Shut it Cordelia if I die you die.

Shut it. Since when do you joke around?

  Hahhaha.

  "—and Prince Viktor."

  ... Oh for fucks sake.

I just have to be fighting against the Prince huh? Why him?! This is so... Expected.

"Goodluck Cordelia!" Zariah yelled. You should be supporting your cousin! I mean you hate him but yeah.

"Goodluck Lady Cordelia... I'll try not to harm that pretty face of yours." The Prince winks at me before taking a stance.

  Ew bro what the fuck.

What? No no no no, you know we can't. Your mental health really is deteriorating with how long you've been in my head...

And there she goes again. Yep.

Of course I told her everything I read in that mysterious book. She's my only ally! She did keep most of it to herself... But I guess since there's a chance to harm the prince she jumps at the opportunity.

Huh. She really is going crazy.

Anyways— I grab a wooden arrow from my back while preparing myself. Viktor stares at me with a smirk, an annoyed smirk. Is he still mad about the student council thingy?? Or something else?

Oh whatever. Let's just try not to die!

  "Begin—"

As soon as the teacher said those words, Viktor immediately leaped infront of me. I immediately aim the bow at him and draw the arrow. It hit him on the cheek, but that didn't stop the advance.

Alright! Running like a headless chicken it is!

I began to distance myself from him while shooting arrows. Most of them graze his skin because he keeps evading...

It's because he's moving too fast! Shit too close!

I swear I'm at a disadvantage here! Why did that damn coach have to pair us up?!

He's closing in again! Quick arrow arrow— NO MORE ARROWS?! FRICK—

Quickly doing as she said, an arrow of pure magic appears on my bow... OKAY SINCE WHEN CAN I DO THIS?! I THOUGHT CORDELIA UNLOCKED THIS LATER ON—

—no time for questions he's out to kill me.

Firing the magic arrow, I managed to hit his stomach. However he hit my head with the sword.

  Haha another fainting accident!

Where are Zariah and the teacher? Well everything happened so quickly that they didn't have enough time to react!

"Cordelia? Cordelia! Are you alright?!" Lady Zariah yells. She held my head gently and immediately casted a greater healing spell.

Isn't that too much? Oh whatever. Amelia did say we were bound to be together or something... So maybe that's why...

"THAT BITCH SHOT ME IN THE NUTS!" An obnoxious voice yells out. Oh this little shit. Heh. At least he won't have his next generation—

"Just heal it up you brat. You act like that'll make you infertile or something. I know you're proficient with healing magic." Lady Zariah said with annoyance, still holding onto me.

"You're so cold cousin. You should be taking care of me, the prince and your retive, instead of that girl who almost killed off the next royal generation." He pouted while healing his crotch. "This won't go unpunished—"

"Professor I'll take Cordelia to the healer." Zariah said, carrying me while ignoring the stupid prince.

  "Hey don't ignore—"

"Go ahead." He said, cutting his royal highness Viktor off.

Huh. Do they not care about royal authority— ah. Maybe he's in that faction.

Despite being only fourth in line to the throne, a lot of people are actually supporting Lady Zariah because of her power... I mean she is the daughter of two geniuses.

Meanwhile the First Prince is an...well... He's the First Prince so I guess that's that!

The Progressives support Lady Zariah, while Traditionalists support Prince Viktor... I don't know if people support the second prince but he doesn't have much cim to the throne anyways.

The only reason Zariah has a chance on being the next ruler is because the previous King changed the w that the heir will be chosen instead of the usual line.

However according to Amelia, Lady Zariah loses... It really doesn't make sense.

"I know you're conscious, what're you thinking so hard about Cordelia?" Lady Zariah said softly, pcing me down on a bed— wait where am I?

"I thought you we're going to bring me to the healer Lady Zariah. Where are we?" I ask. It looks like a very luxurious bed chamber. Not as luxurious as the one I have back at the manor, however there shouldn't be anything like this here...

  "You're in my room—" WHAT?

"apologies but I don't think I should be here—"

"Don't cut me off darling... Anyways. You're hurt so of course you should be here! The healer will be the one going here so you don't have to worry. The bed at the office is hard as rocks so you should be here instead." Lady Zariah said, shushing me up with a finger.

"Still" I said, moving my head away a little to speak. "This is royal quarters—"

"Don't worry about it Cordelia, you are my friend after all"

Friend... No no I can't be her friend it would mean I'm on her side at the battle on the throne— not like I pn on going to Viktors side... But still! I can't exactly escape if—

Wait why do I need to escape again?

  Huh?

  I can't remember...

"You look very exhausted. You hit your head after all. Sleep, now." Lady Zariah whispered, casting a sleeping spell on me.

Wait no— I can't sleep yet! I have questions—....

  ....

  ....

  Ugh. What was that dream—
