Carriage

When Rinaye woke up again, a small amount of sun was peering from the window through the frilly curtains. She didn't want to get up. Her body hurt from the criminal use of accessories last night, she was tired from the lack of sleep, and the sun hurt her eyes. Despite all that happened, the bed was really comfy and soft. The blankets were heavy and warm compared to the cold morning. The room actually looked rather nice with the lights off. You could barely see the monotone disaster. None of the ostentatious decor was visible, only the vague shape of their shadows. All the jagged edges of the furniture looked soft with the light gone. It was quite pleasant.

Then it was all ruined with the entrance of a maid and the return of the bright lights. The maid didn't say a single word as pulled the covers off the bed revealing Rinaye to the cold air. She picked up Rinaye with ease and placed her on a plush chair in the corner of the room. She then started rummaging through the wardrobe finding a less ostentatious dress than the one Rinaye destroyed the previous evening, it looked more comfortable too.

The maid took the dress and shoved Rinaye's head through the hole in the top. Grabbed her arms and pulled them through as well. Now Rinaye was wearing an actually fairly comfy dress, the guy from the night before actually kept his promise about the clothes. Her hair was then brushed and styled into a braid. Cute. Soft shoes were placed on her feet and the only thing around her waist was a ribbon. Everything was a forest green that matched her eyes. The maid then picked Rinaye up and tucked her underneath her arm as she carried her out into the hall.

The maid carried Rinaye across an entire country. Or, at least that's what it felt like. She was carried around for so long she ran out of profanities to call the maid. Did you really think that she would go a whole morning without swearing at someone who didn't treat her like a person? Of course not. The entire time she was getting dressed and about halfway through the travel time, Rinaye was blasting out curse words left and right. Everyone she passed looked at her very weirdly. Even the Duke heard it from his office. The brothers Rinaye didn't know she had, started to believe what their father told them when they both heard and saw a three year old cursing like a sailor. Eventually, Rinaye arrived via maid transportation to the area right outside the main house. Apparently where she woke up was the main house. Something Rinaye had only admired from afar since she had been born. Waiting outside those huge doors and behind a fountain filled with sapphire colored water was a carriage. Something Rinaye had never seen in person before. Only in fiction in her old world, and only in pictures in this one.

The carriage had a silver body with purple trim. Pink gems decorated each ornament and the whole thing was carried by two majestic black horses. Not the normal colors she usually saw in her home. This was probably the other duke's carriage. Normally there was only deep shades of blue and red along with a black secondary color here. An aged but fancy man walked up to the maid carrying Rinaye and asked politely if she would be put down so she may be seated in the carriage. The maid complied and walked back to the main house, leaving Rinaye alone with the fancy man.

Rinaye was plopped into the carriage without any warning and the carriage was off. She was still half asleep and had no idea where she was going. It couldn't be any worse than where she was so she just decided to lay back and enjoy the ride. The fancy man seemed nice enough. The scenery was rather nice, trees breezed past as the carriage moved forward. Birds flew outside the windows, black ones, blue ones, red ones. The clouds in the sky were so beautiful it seemed more like a painting than reality.

Rinaye arrived at her destination after about an hour of travel. The fancy man opened the carriage door her and she hopped on out. He then escorted her to the front door of a grand mansion. It was huge. The main house back home was fancy enough but this outclassed it by miles. Even the stones she walked on seemed greater in quality. The fountain in the middle of the courtyard featured a tall lady with a large witch hat with water pouring out of her hands. It was quite interesting. The flowers seemed to glow in the morning light. Rinaye approached the stairs following the fancy man but before she could enter a voice rang out through the courtyard.

  "Rinaye!"
