Reinhart looked pleased with himself for acquiring a good striker without spending much money. He also managed to bring in Koji Yamane for a transfer fee of €350,000, and then signed Ishmael Boukari and Thomas Riedl on free transfers. Reinhart had spent only around €600,000 on transfers.
His mobile phone sat on the desk, the screen lighting up with a French number. With a deep breath, he answered the call.
"Lucas," Reinhart greeted calmly, "I'm gd you finally called."
The voice on the other end sounded uncertain. "I... I don’t know if this is the right decision."
Reinhart stared out the window. The training field appeared silent, but he saw potential that had yet to be awakened.
"No club has reached out to you, has it?" Reinhart said bluntly.
Lucas was silent. Reinhart continued, his voice ft but cutting.
"I know why. It's not because you're not good enough. It's because they're all afraid of something they don’t understand: trauma."
He stood up from his chair and walked slowly toward the window.
"After that long injury, you’re not the same. Your movements aren't as fast as before, and every tackle feels like a battle with your own shadow. Your club needed promotion and they failed. And then, all fingers pointed at you."
He paused for a moment. "The media called you a failure. The supporters heckled you at the stadium, even on social media. And your club? They forgot you like you were nobody."
Lucas remained silent, but his breathing became heavier.
"But I see something that they all forgot, Lucas. I see what no one else sees. You're not a 'failed wing-back.' You're a foundation that's ready to be rebuilt. I don't need a perfect version of the past… I need the best version of you now."
Reinhart brought the phone closer to his ear, his voice quieter but sharper.
"You’ll py here. Not as an experiment. But as the core. As one of the key pieces in our game. You may have been discarded over there, but here... you will be rebuilt."
There was a brief silence. Then Lucas' voice came through—soft but certain.
"...When should I come?"
Reinhart smiled. "Soon. The contract is ready. This isn't about giving you a second chance. It's about proving that you're still worth trusting."
He hung up the phone. Two key pieces of his dream had joined.
Lucas Lecir, the fallen wing-back... would now rise again.
In forums and comment sections, debates were inevitable.

Even 2 pyers were discarded by their clubs for being bad." – @ZanderForever "Are they trying to break the team’s record of 0 goals throughout the season by bringing in Matias Alvez?" – @barrowwin "I can't wait to see them lose in the pre-season match." – @TrueTactics "This club is dead." – @OldBloodBradford
