As I stepped onto the train the doors closed behind me, leaving the cool air outside. There was a soft hum as the train began moving again, I moved past groups of people, trying to catch a glimpse of my brother, until I heard someone call my name

  “Mezu! Over here!” I turned expecting to see Chris, but instead was greeted by Ssher’s brightly grinning face. She was waving rapidly as her bck hair swung back and forth excitingly.

  I smiled back pushing through a crowd to get to them “Hey! Long time no see huh?” Before I could muster another word I was pulled into a hug that had the strength of an elephant.

  “I missed you so much! You’ve gotten so old, no fair!”

  “I guess-“ that’s all I could squeak out as the squished me in her arms

  “Ssher you’re gonna kill her and she hasn’t even been here for ten minutes” She pouted as I looked over my shoulder to be met with Chris. He was leaned against the window with a slightly concerned look on his face as he combed through his brown hair.

  “Aw come on! I know you missed her too” ssher responded letting go of me

  He sighed in return “of course, but I don’t wanna smother her all at once” I smiled

  “It’s really no big deal, it’s nice to see you guys again” Ssher beamed with pride, closing the eye that wasn’t blocked by her eyepatch

  “See! This is just how we say hello” Chris sighed in defeat as me and ssher giggled to one another.

  “Anyways, it’s nice to see you too Chris” I smiled towards him, earning a small grin.

  “Yeah, it has been awhile, I honestly wasn’t expecting you to look so, casual”

  “Did you think I’d show up in a ballgown?” He ughed

  “Considering our mother I’m surprised that’s not the norm for you anymore”

  “Fair enough, but I enjoy casual clothing” I adjust my sleeve a little before turning back to Ssher

  “Is Jackson here too? I heard there were two trains” Ssher smiles again, a softer one this time

  “Yeah he’s here, hasn’t spoke much, me and him are…getting used to each other again” she has an awkward expression

  “That’s okay, I’m just gd he’s here” I chimed in. We sat in silence before Chris spoke again.

  “This Alynthi pce, it’s sounds interesting, I’m honestly surprised there’s a school for magic users now, when I was little, we were seen as witches, so I guess this is a little safe haven for people like us” Ssher beamed with excitement

  “It sounds awesome! Imagine a whole town where I don’t have to conceal my powers, sounds like paradise to me” She said leaning back onto a seat. It was true, I had heard tales of it but now i was about to live there, it had definitely peaked my interest, especially with how highly everyone talks about it. Before we could continue our conversation, a tall man pushed through the crowd over to us.

  “Mezu?!” He excimed

  “Heh, hey Jackson” he immediately lit up and he walked over to me

  “It’s been forever! I was starting to think you really did run away for good” I smiled

  “Well I’m here now, that’s all that matters” Ssher perked up, like she had just remembered something

  “Wait! Jackson didn’t you say your boyfriend would be here?” He let out a sigh

  “He was supposed to, but apparently he’s on the other train”

  “Aw man, I really wanted Mezu to meet him” she said sadly

  “He’s still gonna be at the school, just not on the same train” he said chuckling a little

  “Boyfriend?” I asked inquiringly, Ssher perked up excitedly

  “Oh yeah! Him and Jackson met a few years ago, his name is Owen, he’s a total sweetie, I think you’ll like him” Jackson rubbed the back of his neck nervously, some strands of blond a red hair grazing his hand.

  “Yeah, he’s a sweet guy, almost a little too sweet, sometimes I feel like the devil compared to him” Ssher grinned

  “Jackson you basically are the devil” he ughed nervously

  “That’s true, but besides that, he’s on the other train so we’ll have to wait” I nodded my head in acknowledgment.

  “Oh my gosh, is that Mezu?!” An unfamiliar voice rang through the train. I turned towards the sound, only to see a tall woman eagerly walking towards me, she had long pink hair and wore a short sundress with a pair of heart shaped gsses, she seemed familiar but I couldn’t pin point it.

  “It’s so nice to meet you! You probably don’t know me but I’ve heard so much about you!” She swung me into a hug and pushed back her gsses as she pulled away.

  “I’m Ivy, I must say, you’re much prettier than I imagined, you’re glowing” she says with an enthusiastic smile.

  “Ivy-? Like the pop idol?!” My face twisted into shock

  “I didn’t know you were a magic user!” She giggled

  “Oh please, you think this much charm is natural?” She smirks and the little hearts in her eyes glow a little. A succubus, that made more sense.

  “Wow, wait how do you know them?” I said, gesturing towards the others.

  “It’s a long story, but in short, Jackson stumbled upon me and my brother and we gave him a pce to live” Jackson smiled meekly towards the woman.

  “Brother?” I said inquisitively. She let out a sigh

  “Yes, my twin brother Ivan, I don’t know where he is”

  “He probably found another woman that’ll put up with his shit” Ivy snickered

  “For sure, although he’s definitely better than he used to be that’s for sure” a man pushed through a group of people,

  “There you are! You just left me” the man huffed looking at Ivy

  “I wouldn’t have left if you didn’t take so long” Ivy retorted

  “I wasn’t even taking that long-“ the man stopped in his tracks, his purple eyes darting over to me

  “Oh, is this your sister that you told me about?” He questioned with a smirk. Chris shot him a gre

  “Yes, don’t do anything stupid..” the man chuckled

  “Now why would I do that?” He walked up to my, lifting my hand up a leaving a small kiss on it.

  “The names Ivan, pleasure to meet you” as if he could feel Chris’s eyes burning a hole in the back of his head he pulled away

  “Ah- nice to meet you Ivan-“ I rubbed the hand he had previously kissed

  “Sorry about them Mezu, that’s how they say hello” Ssher replied, giggling

  “No it’s fine, it’s very nice to meet both of you” the twins smiled, nodding in agreement

  …

  A half hour passed of saying hellos and meeting one another before the train came to a halt, a voice rang over the speakers.

  “Stop, Alynthi, if this is your stop please make your way to the exits”

  “Damn already, I was just getting used to the train” Ssher said getting up

  “I’m gd to be off the train..” Chris replied.

  One by one all of us got up and went out the exits to grab our things from the bottom compartments.

  “Hey guys!” A smaller man ran up to us

  “Oh Owen there you are!” Ivy replied excitedly.

  “Yeah, apparently human borns go on separate train-“ Jackson walked up next to him

  “Well at least your here” Owen smiled, looking over at me

  “And your Mezu right? I’ve heard lots about you!” I rubbed my neck nervously, he seemed very energetic

  “Yeah, that’s me”

  A small woman appeared infront of us

  “Hello everyone! I assume all of you are apart of Alynthis academy?” All of us nodded

  “Alright then! Please follow me!”
