Chapter 1

Mina sat cross-legged in her bed scrolling through her friends social medias. Each one a display of their wonderful lives; fresh dinner dates, and cute kissing photos with their boyfriends. All of these posts dreadfully reminded her of a breakup she had not too long ago in November. And now with the looming threat of the holidays things were only going to get worse. Her phone pinged, a notification shooting down reminding her of the imminent party. ‘Christmas Party at my place, it's going to be a couples night so bring someone around!’

‘Hopefully Mina can find somebody in time LOL.’

“Yeah whatever, at least I can have the last laugh and just bail. I don't need to attend some stupid party to validate my love life.”

Mina muttered throwing her phone to the side. She stared out her bedroom window watching the snow fall gracefully down, she wishes she could be so lucky to fall gracefully. She reached back for her phone reluctantly and answered the group chat,

“I don't think I'll be able to make it sorry.”

Almost immediately the phone dinged with a reply,

“Don't flake out on us now hun, I bet we could find you somebody for the party. You know how crazy dudes are for goth girls these days.”

Mina groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose, “Crash and burn Alyssa. I'm not looking for crazy people. I just want somebody who understands me.”

She clicked her phone off and threw it to the side, it dinged again but she wasn't at all interested in a reply. Instead her focus was drawn to a small book she bought at an occult shop for novelty and decoration, it was something to browse through and hopefully take her mind off the situation.

“Beginners Guide to Summoning Demons. What was I thinking when I bought this shit.” Mina shifted through the pages of the book reading the various demons you could ‘summon’ and how to do it, some with oddly in detail specifics.

Her attention seemed to be caught by one demon in particular, Asmodyr, Prince of Lust. ‘Master of fulfilling personal desires.’ Her cheeks flushed red with the idea of what a demon of lust could do.

The idea tickled her brain, more so the raunchier sides of it that were infected with cheesy rom-coms and wattpad stories.

Mina shook her head side to side throwing the thoughts out, “I think doing all that raunchy stuff with a demon is the last thing on my bucket list.”

She sighed and got up from the bed not bothering to get dressed, it's not like staying in your underwear in your own house was a grave sin.

“I'll give this a shot for a joke, not like this bunk is real.” She walked around the house collecting the necessary materials; chalk, candles, and a wide open space. Mina moved to the living room where she shuffled around furniture to give room in the center and began drawing the circle. The idea this was real made her laugh, but the off chance that this could be, unnerved her.

Mina began, one line after the other making sure to keep everything as straight as possible and that every tiny detail was absolutely flawless. With the circle finished she moved on to the candles, placing them exactly where they were said to go and in line with each other, no exceptions. The book warned that any deviations and the ritual would fail. Next came the incantations, you didn't have to be a Latin professional to complete it as long as it sounded similar, intentions and all that.

Mina performed to expectations, setting the circle, lighting the candles and trying her best with the incantations, as goofy as she felt mispronouncing almost everything. At first, nothing happened besides an occasional flicker of candles and a small breeze running through the room. However, or perhaps luckily her hopes were dashed when the breeze passed over her now. A small fan in the corner of the room was oscillating back and forth.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“I probably shouldn't have left the fan going during this.” Mina muttered to herself moving towards it to turn it off.

She bent over to the fan on the floor pushing the off button when a voice behind her shook the room.

“What a sight to behold on first introductions.”

Mina yelped, spinning around and covering what she could with her hands, “Who the fuck are you?!”

The figure standing in the center of the circle smirked, his face framed with his jet black hair and piercing eyes; one red, and the other yellow.

“Did you expect theatrics? Smoke and fire? Sorry to disappoint.”

Her face flushed red and her eyes locked to the floor, “Well I mean, I expected some kind of warning, I didn't even expect this to work I thought it was a book full of novelty and nonsense. But are you him, are you Asmodyr?”

Asmodyr slowly approached from the center of the circle, the click of his dress shoes against the floor triggered Mina to raise her head. His attire was nothing like she expected. His suit appeared to be a normal black three-piece suit. A black coat with a dark red undershirt, tied together nicely with a black tie. His pants were pressed finely and tapered perfectly to his ankles.

Asmodyr lifted Mina's chin with his finger and looked her square in the eye, “Yes, I am Asmodyr. Now what is your wish girl?”

Mina was frozen by his gaze like it were a trance. Her mouth opened but closed soon after, as if her voice didn't exist anymore. The silence in the room spanned an uncomfortable amount of time.

“If you have nothing to ask of me then I guess I'll make my leave. You couldn't have summoned me for no reason.”

Asmodyr dropped her chin and turned around walking back to the circle, Mina's body reacted on its own jumping to grab the back of his coat. “W-wait! I didn't think you'd actually come and I didn't know what to say!”

He continued his stride practically dragging Mina behind him as she clung for dear life, the circle below him began to glow a deep orange signaling his departure.

“I wish for you to be my boyfriend!” She blurted out her brain on autopilot.

“Your—boyfriend? You summoned a demon for companionship?” Asmodyr questioned, his voice trailing up with amusement.

She let go of his coat and stepped back, “I know, I'm sorry. I said that without thinking I didn't mean to summon you for something so stupid I apologize a thousand times, I'll never do something like this again, I'll do anything to make it up to you I promi-”

Asmodyr's hand shot up his finger pressing against her lips shutting her up instantly, “Enough, you are rambling.” She looked down to his finger and then back to him, her face flushed red. “Is that truly what you desire however? You desire, a boyfriend?”

Mina slowly nodded, her heartbeat thumping in her ears. Asmodyr sighed however a smirk crept across his face.

“I guess I can do that for you, I normally wouldn't do this if somebody looked unsightly but you are certainly very attractive. As if your curves were sculpted by the gods.” He chuckled, his comment only further embarrassing Mina.

“How can you make comments about my body so easily?” She stammered attempting to regain control of the conversation.

Asmodyr laughed low and rich placing a hand over his face. “I am a demon, dear. And one of lust, if you expected anything less you are in way over your head.”

“For a contract like this it requires a binding mark to bind me to your coil. It's very simple really.”

She looked at him, raising an eyebrow, “And what's that going to be? A blood pact or like a high five? I don't know how these things work.”

Asmodyr smiled, his sharp teeth showing in the front, “I'll show you, it's nothing to fear.”

He held her face in both hands, and before she could understand what was going on or protest their lips were pressed together. Her cheeks flared red and her hands raised to push him away but her body and mind were in protest.

For what seemed like forever he finally moved his face from hers, staring deep into her eyes still holding her face. Mina’s face was inventing a new shade of red unable to speak, only ghosts of what she wanted to say escaped her lips. A symbol appeared on the back of both of their hands creating their eternal bond. Asmodyr’s smile was large and filled with joy,

“You are too easy, I'm going to have a lot of fun with you.”
