Chapter 15: Total Control

  Chapter 15: Total Control

After the match with the orge, I was taken to a room in the coliseum where a healer examined my body.

The room was not too big but not to small either.

All around me where medical utensils. There was also strange objects that appeared to be medical tools powered my Mana.

"There appears to be nothing wrong with him." said the Healer

Igor's eye squint slighty before relaxing.

"I see. Well thank you for checking up on him." Said Igor, though there was still tension in his face.

The corners of the healers mouth twitched.

The healer thought to himself 'It's not like I have a choice. You're he fucking boss here! If I refused you'd just fire me, or worse'

Igor didn't notice the healers irritation because he already turn to face me.

Igor exerted a pressure that seem to freeze the air in the room.

  "LEAVE." Igor said

His voice wasn't that of anger or irritation, it wasn't filled with arrogance or pride.

His voice was coated in a authoritative aura that made anyone hear it obey his every word.

The healer scurried out of the room, leaving me and Igor inside.

Nothing but Slience permeated the room as Igor stared me down.

His eyes glowed a deep crimson, he didn't look at me with anger or disappointment.

He looked at me as a scientist would look at an unknown creature. He study my entire body, scrutinizing every detail.

  Sigh

"I'm only going to ask this once" Igor said

Breathing in and letting out some smoke from his body he began to speak.

"What are you hiding?" Igor stared into my eyes emotionlessly.

I was going to say that I was hiding nothing before I noticed something.

'He asked "what am I hiding" instead of saying "IF I'm hiding something" .'

On the outside I was composed, I had a relaxed expression.

But on the inside my head was spinning.

'How does he know I'm hiding something, how! Did he realize I can't die after watching my fight. But that impossible! That machine rebuilt my body everytime I'm destroyed. Does my Mana Still lingered after my body's destroyed? But if so, others would have noticed. How does he know I'm hiding something '

'Just looking at him I can tell he's acting differently. It's like all his previous eccentric emtion and flair was a lie, revealing the cold calculative nature beneath.

My voice shoke slightly I opened my dry mouth.

  "...I have a trait."

Just hearing this made Igor's eyes twich slighty

  "What is it" he asked

  "..." I stayed slient.

I didn't want to tell him, I knew I had no choice but I refused to open my mouth.

Igor stabbed his hand through my chest.

I watch in horror as he ripped my heart out.

"Wha-" I tried to speak but I coughed up blood instead.

  I flopped to the ground.

The pain was unbearable, slowly I felt my body grow rigged as I felt something coursing through my body before slowly making its way to the gapping whole in my chest.

When it finally wriggled its way there, a new heart began to form.

Slowly I watch as a tar like substance molded itself into a heart. After that the gapping hole in my chest slowly began to close, only instead it was replaced with a purple like flesh that fill the missing muscle.

Finally as the whole was filled, Grey skin began to form on the surface.

With that my eyes slowly began to gain focus again, my body seem to be healed.

"Alright, let's go" Igor said as he stood up and left the room.

My body got up against my will. I tried to stop walking but I couldn't. I fought as hard as I could against this unknown force controling my body. I strained my muscles to stop moving, but in the end it was futile.

  My body refused to listen.

  My body followed behind Igor.

"What did you d-" I was cut off by him

  "Slience" Igor ordered

With those simple words my mouth clamped down.

I tried to speak but even my vocal cords refused to move.

I followed Igor in unwilling silence.

  I stop trying to talk.

'I'm not going to be able to say anything right now.'

It felt like the veins in my head were about to burst when I fought for control.

'I think whatever it is that fill the hole in my chest Is what he's using to control me'

As I walked down the long hallway I watched as people greeted Igor. Some people looked at him in fear, others in joy, and other in reverence.

Slowly we exited the hallway and entered an opening.

The open lead to a large balcony overlooking the entrance of the coliseum.

Slowing down slighty, his entire demeanor changed.

Artificial life filling him once again he went towards the edge of the balcony where everyone saw him.

Someone below shouted as they noticed Igor's presence.

"Look, it's Igor. He here!" He shouted

When everyone looked up and saw him the entire room was in an uproar.

People were shouted him praise and shouting

  "We love you Igor!!"

I made my way to the balcony.(unwillingly)

As the people saw me, the reactions were different.

Some people gave me the same praise as Igor just received, but unlike before, there was people that shouted profanities and hatred towards me

  "You cheated"

"I lost all my money cause of you. You damn bitch"

  "I'll gonna kill you asshole"

"I put all my money on the orge. You made me lose my money"

  My mind slowly grew dark.

'How can all of you find this entertaining? I felt how it was to be inside a stomach and be digested and this is what they say.'

  'This world is messed up.'

Putting my hand on my stomach I clenched tightly.

'How can all of you watch things like this regularly. There have probably been people that weren't as lucky as me and....'

Thinking about all the people that were unlucky made me frustrated.

Slowly composing myself I thought solmeny to myself

'This isn't earth. Damn I didn't think I would miss earth but seeing how things are here, I just can't stand being here'

Slowly my eyes tinged in pain before growing cold again.

'Damn. Why can't this world be different. Why can't there be peace. Why does everyone here enjoy hurting others. Damn. I'm not stupid, I know that's just how this world works but. Even if I don't want to, I have to become like them. I have to harden my hear bit by bit if I want to survive.'

Thinking about the people I killed backed then my mind became strained.

'It wasn't even necessary to kill them. They could of lived '

My eyes grew watery before a small tear rolled down my check.

'The only life that matters is mine. I'm not a good person to sacrifice myself for someone else. Even if this guilt is driving me crazy. I know I'm not strong enough to make the choice of sacrificing myself if it means I will face pain. '

I stared down at the people below. My eyes slowly filled with hatred

'I'm going to become stronger, I'm going to become ssomeone that will not just survive but thrive in this world.'

At this moment I forgot about the Assistant, I forgot about the Phoenix, I even forgot about the Eldritch God.

The only thing on my mind was how I was going to make it out of this city alive.

  Igor perspective

I watched the fight in a room overlooking the arena.

'I hope he shows that same fighting spirit as when he tried to fight me'

Remembering the look in his eye as he rushed at me before was exciting.

A smile crept up my face.

"I really hope you finish the orge off before the crowd gets bored." I muttered softly

The artifact that kept bringing him back was not something that I wanted to be turned on for long. If he can't kill it after 30 minutes and the audience gets bored of him, I would have turned off the artifact and let the people watch as he gets brutally crushed.

'You have potential kid. Please don't make me end you' I thought

I plan on making this kid my pawn. I could tell that he would become stronger in the future.

My eyes glowed as I pulled up his status window to check for anything new.

For someone that just got here he's doing pretty well.

I squinted my eyes in confusion.

'But what I don't understand is how he acquired the self immolation skill'

That skill seems to have more to it than meets that eyes

'And considering that i didn't sense any Mana from the flames during his previous escape attempt, that means it doesn't require magic'

Which means it's a soul skill.

'But for him to even have something like that in the first place should be impossible. Many people have tried to attain a soul skill their entire life and are never able to achieve it.'

The sudden screams of the crowds caught my attention, I looked out to see Colt being eaten by the orge.

  Disppoment dyed my face

'If he's just some lucky bastard that somehow learned that skill but can't fight, then he isn't of much use to me'

I could probably still use him but if he can't learn to fight, then when I make him my puppet, his body will be untrained and his body will move less efficiently, making him less useful.

Looking back at the arena I watched as the orge started to write in agony.

I watched as Colt cooked the orge from the inside out.

I watched as the orges charred body fell to the ground.

As I watch the match finish, I left the room.

I made my way to the arena.

Going down the stairs and into a long hallway, I instantly appeared at the end of the hallway where a door was.

Exiting, I swiftly made my way towards the orge.

I couldn't help but grin slighty.

'He doesn't know how to fight, but he makes up for it in adaptability. '

I was surprised that he was In the right state of mind to come up with a plan to kill the orge while he was in its stomach.

While it seems obvious what to do, when your In that situation where you were just eaten, you would panic.

Even if he turned on the skill on accident, he wouldn't have kept it actived for so long.

I watched as even though the orge was dead, he kept on burning him from the insideout.

'If it was a fluke, he wouldn't have the determination to endure the pain from burning himself for as long as he is now. Even now he still hasn't turned it off. '

Deciding that letting him burn any longer would do nothing for me or the entertainment of the crowd I cut the orges stomach and ripped out the kid.

I threw him to the ground as I saw his state. His skin was gone and his flesh was next.

  He looked hideous.

I flick my wrist to heal him again.

But unlike before, I sensed something, something that shouldn't be possible.

I saw a flicker of a white light inside him that burned faintly. It seem to sway with the wind.

The light didn't stay longer though, just as fast as it came, it left.

It was something I've seem only once In my life. The power of an angel seem to appear briefly inside of him.

It was gone now but it was undoubtedly the power of an Angel.

My expression remain the same, I couldn't let anyone notice my discovery.

But in the inside, my mind went into a state of calculative thinking.

I need to make sure I don't do anything that can make anyone notice anything off.

I planned what to do to entertain the audience and what to say.

'I think I understand why this boy was able to get ahead of the rest of the other humans'

'I need to make sure I can get him under my control NOW'

With this thought, I slowly formulated a plan.
