The Fall

There was a flash, then an explosion. What was heard next was a huge thud and a loud splash. One of them fell in the water, another in the sand. After swimming for a while, he got to the shore. He was a middle-aged man. He had a well-trimmed mustache and dreadlocks and wore a black suit together with goggles, giving him a warm detective look.

The other one sat on the beach. He wore a uniform. His athletic body and boots showed he was a soldier. He appeared to be older than him and had long golden hair and blue eyes.

“Bro,” Arthur II said, panting as he crawled on the beach. His clothes were wet and his body shivered with cold. It was evening and the triple star appeared to be setting. He looked to the other side and saw the huge shiny planet they came from. Behind him tall ruins could be seen. This was once a city? Why was it deserted then?

“Are you hurt? "We used too much force, we are lucky we didn't die,” Alpha said as he sat calmly cross-legged in the sand. His back faced the setting triple star.

The strange thing about the planet is that it has no traces of life in it. Even the water that he just got from didn't smell any fish. The shore had no palm trees. Far away, caves with traces of mangrove could be seen, but there was no single plant on the shore. Even a trace of a single shell on the shore couldn't be seen. What really happened to the planet?

“I'm just fascinated with how you fought those guys earlier,” Arthur II gave his compliment after calming down. They all sat on the sand cross-legged as they watched the waves in the sea.

“These are just common skirmishes, but there's one great one ahead of us,” Alpha answered. Arthur II's eyes widened in surprise. Who was Alpha? How many battles did he fight? And what was the battle ahead of them?

Alpha saw his amazement, so he decided to add more to it. “When I look at you, I can see past lives. "But for me there's no single past life,” he said. Arthur's eyes widened until they almost dropped. How did this guy see people from past lives? Was he a magician?

“Why won't you tell me who you are and why we are here? ""I miss my family,” Arthur II said in despair. He was really missing his family. He thought when his mission was over, he would get back to his home, but, there they were, on a planet that smelled no life.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Alpha chuckled and then went on saying, “You are all here because of the mistake I made ten thousand years ago.” He took a deep breath. The air on the planet was dense. Arthur II felt as if it was choking. He went on, “The upcoming battle will be so great. All the other 500 universes in the 1082 cluster of universes are against us.”

Arthur II froze in fear. He didn't say anything. The people Alpha had fought were strong. It was a sweaty job. Will they fall?

“If we lose the Core, they will cut us from the power and they will kill us. We have to fight for the Core!” he added. Arthur II remained silent for a long time. He was lost deep in thought. Alpha noticed it and held his back.

“I'm sorry I did all this. If it weren't my fault, you would be enjoying life back on earth with your family,” Alpha said. It appeared as if he was in a monologue. Was Arthur II listening? Did he pretend not to hear? After all, he had ears and no one closed the ears, Alpha assumed.

“Let me tell you a brief background of me. At least you'll know why you are here. I'm a guardian of the 1082 multiverse, so you are. We will have to fight the oncoming war. Odds might favor us,” he said to the statued Arthur II. Finally, Arthur II nodded.

Alpha paused for a long time. Arthur II appeared trying to swallow what he had just said. He took out some snacks from his pocket and handed them over to him. He was really lost in thought. He also admired Alpha's fighting skills, but that was 10000 years of experience.

Alpha didn't wait, he began narrating his story right away. He remembered everything. When he messed with the time cogwheel, every memory of his childhood just after his conception was forced into his head.

Why were they there? Was the oncoming battle that fierce? Was it a must they fight? Which scene did he commit that led to such wars? With these questions in his mind, Arthur II slowly held his right ear, ready to listen to his story.

Ten thousand years ago, a man named Rajel and a woman named Miya expected a son.

In her second month of pregnancy, she sat on the veranda outside their two-bedroom house. They were middle-income earners, and therefore they couldn't afford a mansion.

Rajel rode his bicycle towards her. In his mind, thoughts flowed. For the first time, he didn't notice her fragrance. Her eyes always shone in beauty. He also loved smelling the perfume, especially that of her long ponytail. Today he just passed her by the door into the house.

“Wait, what's wrong?” Miya grabbed him.

Rajel didn't say anything. He shook his head and turned to leave. He was a middle-aged giant who stood seven feet high with a huge chest filled with muscles and huge biceps. Miya had grabbed his arm and insisted that he tell her what was wrong. The persistence landed her in trouble. In moments, she fell with a big thud. She was lying with her stomach.

Rajel sneered as she groaned in pain. He then walked into the house. He wanted to get rid of the baby. He knew she wouldn't accept taking the medicine. So he had to use other means.
