Chapter 3 awakening (I)

The sun shone in the morning sky with its own brilliance, symbolizing hope and peace, painting the sky in shades of pink and gold.

In his room, Xiao's eyes slowly opened as he woke up from sleep. He got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. After finishing, he sat on his bed, deep in thought about the political power structure of the Imperial Family and the human civilization. The Imperial Family ruled the entire human civilization, and under them were the three great noble cns. Following them came countless sects, territories, and influential families.

The Freedom Alliance was formed by loose cultivators. After one such cultivator successfully ascended to become an Apex Existence, he united all the scattered cultivators under one banner and named it the Freedom Alliance. Apex Existences are the pinnacle of the universe the ultimate form a civilization can produce. They are immortal and cannot die unless sin by another being of equal level or if the universe itself colpses. However, it is nearly impossible for one Apex Existence to kill another of their kind. Currently, the Human Civilization officially has eight known Apex Existences.

One belongs to the Freedom Alliance, each of the three great noble cns has one, and three more belong to the Cardinal Royale Family—his sisters. His sisters are all Apex Existences, and even at that level, they are extremely powerful. The one currently beside him was merely an incarnation of her true body.

The upper echelons of many factions and races were aware of the terrifying depth and foundation of the Cardinal Royale Family. Even Xiao didn't know how deep the waters ran in his own family. He only knew that many ancestors were either buried or in deep slumber within the family's Ancestral Temple. Their cultivation seemed to have reached unfathomably high levels of Apex Existence. These ancestors had no interest in worldly matters and remained in seclusion or hibernation.

"When my sister's true body appears during the awakening ceremony, I'll have to ask her about our family's background... just how deep it truly runs. I also need to ask about this artifact. I can't rely on it blindly and end up becoming some old man's vessel for revival, or a pawn in some ancient scheme."

As for why he wasn't worried about being found out for taking over the body of their brother it was because he had reincarnated into an alternate timeline. He hadn't taken over someone else's body; this was still his body, just in another timeline. So, there was nothing to be exposed.

As he was thinking about all this, Elizabeth entered the room carrying a tray of breakfast. She wore a Victorian-era noblewoman's dress. The regal bck gothic attire made her look breathtakingly beautiful.

"Little brother, here is your breakfast," Elizabeth said gently, pcing the tray on the table. The breakfast wasn't anything special just a simple English meal with toasted bread, an omelette, soup, and tea.

"Ah, thank you," Xiao said as he began eating. Midway through the meal, Elizabeth asked:

  [How is it?]

[It's very delicious. Thank you, sis,] Xiao replied with a soft smile. Seeing that smile, a warm expression appeared on Elizabeth's face.

After he finished eating, Elizabeth snapped her fingers and the tray vanished. Then she said:

[Today is your awakening ceremony, but you don't have to worry too much. You have the blood of the royal family flowing through your veins. Awakening a low-level talent isn't even a possibility you should be wondering what kind of high-ranking talent you'll awaken.]

[Yeah, I was thinking the same. Let's see what kind of talent I get.]

Xiao and his sisters had all been adopted by their grandfather, the Cardinal Emperor. After adopting them, he gave each of them a drop of his own blood, granting them the bloodline of the Cardinal Royale Family.

It had been many years since his grandfather disappeared. When Xiao first learned of it, he had been greatly worried. But ter, his sisters reassured him, saying they knew where he was and why he had vanished.

They told him the reason was because their grandfather had completely surpassed the level of an Apex Existence and entered an entirely different realm of power and existence. They also promised to expin everything in detail once Xiao reached Tier 10 or became an Apex Existence himself.

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Elizabeth reminded him:

[You should get dressed. The ceremony is about to begin.]

Xiao nodded and changed into a Victorian-style white shirt with a bck tie, a matching bck coat, formal pants, and polished bck leather shoes.

After he was ready, Elizabeth took his hand. She snapped her fingers and the two of them vanished from the room.
