Antikythera reviewed his most recent discovery as he waited for Demiurge to arrive. Ninya's talent was well and truly unique, it had exceeded his expectations of what he can gleam from it with every passing experiment and he realized that although it isn't a type of css strictly speaking, talents are still close to them in nature.
They are a trait which helps someone develop in a certain css, which in the nine realms would be akin to a beastman's racial trait or a heteromorph's racial csses. Possibly a combination between the two, however, unlike in the nine realms, almost every single organism in this world is capable of possessing a talent.
There is no discrimination for who would be able to aquire a css and even animals have the possibility of having one.
The tter part of his review came from Demiurge and Sakai, both of whom have been gathering any bits of information that they can reted to talents. And they have found quite a lot in the previous days, such as learning that talents come in multiple varieties and not all of them are useful. Not all of them also show physically and an individual can live through their entire lives without knowing they possess it.
Antikythera has added his own acquired knowledge on top of the stockpile, detailing what he has learned about Ninya's particur talent and the various applications for mana he has found from experimenting with it.
His test experiment, one which involved the girl shredding her hand, has yielded the best result so far. With what he learned, he now knows that spells can be overloaded, and not just that, but an organism can receive high concentrations of magic right as long as their bodies are capable of handling it. Aoi especially found this useful and it has added an extra yer to the project she is currently handling.
Antikythera has only combed through the surface of what he can do using it and the best of his ideas is the fact that overloading a [Tier 10] spell can in fact cause it to become [Super Tier]. The process is often slow and the required mana is so high that it is no different in casting a pure [Super Tier] spell in the first pce. The only difference is that, technically speaking, "super tier" spells can now come in different varieties. Not just the ones they know.
"Antikythera." Demiurge's voice echoed from the entrance of the throne room, "I see that Albedo still hasn't arrived yet."
"She says she will come when she finishes reviewing the official map for the new world."
"Ah yes, that." Demiurge fixed his gsses, "the scouting units have finished their task?"
"Only the surface level of it." Antikythera corrected, yes, they now had a proper map for the new world but this did not mean that they knew everything within it. "We are cking critical information still, the stratosphere, ecosphere, and geosphere are yet to be explored. What we have is a general approximate of the ndmarks."
"It is useful still I do believe," Demiurge paused for a moment before nodding, "yes, it is still useful. We have a severe need for a proper map and the ones which we can get from shops within racial settlements, human or otherwise, are outdated or not up to Nazarick's standard."
"They truly are lesser beings." Antikythera spat, "they can't even do cartography right."
"That just means they need the guiding light of Lord Ainz even more," Demiurge smirks, "such incompetent creatures cannot be allowed to live without being under Nazarick's rule otherwise they would simply go extinct."
"I agree." Antikythera nods, "but lesser races they may be, there are still some exempry members of them no? Renner, Re Estize's princess, how is she?"
"Intelligent." That was high praise coming from Demiurge.
"Truly?" Antikythera looked at the throne, "then she should not be wasted rotting away in that back water kingdom and she is better serving Lord Ainz."
"She already is." Demiurge reassures, "she is working to subvert Re Estize and eventually bring it under our rule."
"How do we leash her?" Antikythera said in consideration, "surely someone so intelligent would recognize our desire to put her people into gilded shackles?"
"She knows that and allows it regardless of that fact." Demiurge's smile implied that the girl is just as cruel as they are. "And if you are worried about her getting out of control, she has a weird infatuation with a boy her age, it is not of romance by human standards but more of like... A pet."
"Fascinating." Antikythera dug through his data bases to see if a simir retionship is there and he found one thing which may give them a clue. "Lord Peroroncino should have left Shalltear something which will help in figuring out how Renner's mind operates no?"
"I'll ask her when she gets back." Demiurge confirms, "speaking of, Lord Ainz has requested for martial arts users to be captured and tested, Shalltear is the one responsible for fulfilling such a task."
"Is that so?" Antikythera checked if a data packet which has information reted to these "martial arts users" has been sent to him and sees that yes, it has. Sakai sent it to him a few hours ago, "I am currently reading about them and they do not seem all that special. Is there any particur reason for why Lord Ainz is interested in them?"
"I have no clue," Demiurge shrugs, "my best assumption of the supreme one's will is that martial arts, a type of spell, did not exist back in the nine realms and thus caught Lord Ainz's eye."
"I see, that makes sense." Although spells are powerful and versatile, adding more weapons to Nazarick's arsenal did not seem like a bad idea. "Give me the data on how these martial arts work when you aquire them. I wish to see if Hana can replicate their effects using items."
"Something simir to a rune, I assume?" Demiurge's guess was spot on.
"Quite so, there is a high likelihood that this is the case and that the humans are yet to discover it." Antikythera struggled to keep the condescension out of his voice, "they even called it martial arts instead of what it truly is if one cssified it through basic description; enhancements."
"Indeed. The humans seem to have focused this "martial art" solely into improving their physical capabilities. They seemed to have assumed that this is the peak of what it can do," Demiurge frowned.
"Then there's the ones that we know the names and effects of, some of these improve a sword's slicing capabilities of a bat's blunt force impact." Antikythera pointed out, "it is clearly capable of influencing objects."
"Hm." Demiurge nodded in agreement, "but that begs the question, which do you think is superior? The methodology of the ones we obtained from the nine realms or this new type of magic?"
"That would entirely depend if these martial arts' potential for multiplying someone's overall power output is high or not." Antikythera answered dully. That is what comparisons ultimately amounted to.
"Hm, that would be an appropriate response to it. Do tell me the results of Hana's project."
"Sorry about being te, cross referencing the maps we got from humans and other races to the proper maps the scouting units have made is a draining task." Antikythera tilted his head, did Albedo sound exhausted?.. "Well then, let us head to my office to officially start our progress review."
