Chapter 9

The blue-eyed fox quickly came back through the tunnel, bringing back two small amber pieces and the white crystal/jewel. As soon as the blue-eyed fox dropped those pieces in front of her core, Teaghan quickly absorbed them, gaining a blue screen.

With this discovery, Teaghan decided to push her domain into the first and second cave that she explored. She pushed and pushed, using up her mana quicker than the last couple of times she expanded her domain. Teaghan thought about it and guessed that it’s because she probably extended her domain passed where she should have it.

Regardless of how much mana and time she spent, Teaghan was committed to making those two rooms part of her domain.

After a day, she finally added those rooms to her domain.

When she added those rooms, she decided to place a couple of kobolds in the first cave and gave them orders to set up camp and explore the first and second rooms.

With that done, Teaghan turned her attention to the ecosystem of the first room. While there was not much she could visibly see, Teaghan was able to sense creatures and perhaps monsters moving around the room.

Teaghan decided that instead of committing mass genocide on everything in the rooms and absorbing their corpses, she decided to make them part of her dungeon. But Teaghan just didn’t know the way to do that yet.

She focused on a beetle in the first cave and started using her mana, and pushed it into the beetle. As soon as Teaghan did that, the beetle exploded.

She focused on a small frog the next time and tried to surround it with her mana. After nothing happening after a few minutes, she turned her attention to another insect, and suddenly, a blue screen appeared.

Teaghan read the blue screen and pulled up the description.

Realizing that this was the ability that she needed to include the creatures of the caves that she claimed in the cave system.

She covered the first cave and activated the “Dominate” ability. The ecosystem of the first cave became a part of Teaghan’s dungeon. In turn, she was also now able to summon the creatures and plants into the rest of the dungeon, which led to a large blue screen.

With everything in the first cave now fully part of her domain and dungeon, Teaghan moved to the tunnel separating the first and second cave.

Using the dominate ability on the hallway, she slowly continued into the second cave.

Teaghan quickly scanned the cave and saw nothing, but something didn’t feel right. When she had a closer look, a couple of the amber pieces started moving. Looking closer, she realized that the moving pieces of amber were creatures. Though it was unknown what type, Teaghan decided to try to see if the dominate ability would work. Teaghan surrounded the room with her mana and claimed more hidden creatures and plants than what she thought there would be.

When Teaghan looked throughout the room, she felt something that nibbled at her mana. Looking closer and following her mana like a fishing line, she followed that pull into a large pile of amber pieces. Looking closer, she found a small hole in the pile that led to another cave. This room was different; it wasn’t a separate cave, but still part of her domain.

This was very confusing for Teaghan. This little cave was different from the other cave. It held a small environment, separate from the original part of the cave. After a bit of looking, Teaghan found a potential reason why. At the very back of the cave was a circular flat stone with a carving on it.

Before absorbing this carving, Teaghan made sure that the small environment was part of her domain, and the unknown creatures, monsters, and plants were part of her domain and dungeon. Once she assured this, Teaghan absorbed the carving. When she did that, a couple of blue screens popped up.

After Teaghan scanned the blue screens, she realized that this was why there was so much amber in the second cave. She was also excited about all the possibilities for not only her dungeon but for the treasures that might be hidden in the cave system.
