Chapter 1: Second Life.

  “J-kins. W-p… Up”

Something distant was calling his name. At first, he thought nothing of it that is until he began feeling stings from a series of slap coming from multiple sources. As he was slowly coming to, he could hear a bit clearer.

  “Private Jenkins. Please wake up!”

Jenkins sprung up to his feet, startling the crowd that gathered around him. Still feeling a bit disoriented due to the sudden blood rush, he put his right hand on his head to keep himself from looking down. He knew something was wrong however he was skeptical if some force of nature was at work. Jenkins quickly recollected the events that transpired before.

Leeroy Jenkins who was supposed to be dead to a virus is somehow alive. He never passed through a reincarnation cycle however the possibly of passing though while unconscious is still there. As if by instinct he pulled up the ‘Inbox’ icon since it has been flashing for some quite time. There he saw one unread message and as he thought about what the content the message was, it opened another window over it.

  [Mr. Jenkins,

It is with deep regret to inform you that you had in fact died in your old world. As for how you got to this new world, I’ll be quick with the details. First off, your soul did go through the reincarnation cycle. The goddess that was in charge and I quote “With all my effort, this soul would not seem to wake.” Your case was then handed to me and I got to say, you are one deep sleeper. I do apologize before hand as I quickly took a glance through your last moments without your consent. Your soul was indirectly mixed up in a hero summoning and time isn’t finite. The cheat I gave you is something that you are well familiar and versed in. Well, I did add some of my own touch to it so it could be easily adapted to the system that governs the world you are currently in. I ask nothing of you but live as you see fit.

  PS.

I also included a journal in your inventory that have all the information you need about this world.]

Jenkins chuckled in self amusement as his wild guess was spot on. As he was about to sling his rucksack over his shoulder, he noticed that he gathered quite a crowd. He decided to hold off the self-inspection. One person walked out from the crowd towards Jenkins and courteously bowed right before him. Jenkins tilted one of his eyebrows as the person the bowed was donned in some sort of outfit that screams, ‘Holy Maiden’. Behind what he assumed is the ‘Holy Maiden’, was an older fella that have quite some time with his age. The older fella spoke first as the maiden was about to open her mouth.

“Thank the heavens! You are alive! Many of the heroes here before you used every ounce of power to bring you back to life.”

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Jenkins rubbed his chin, now recalling the series of slap that was delivered to his cheeks.

“So, I assume the series of slap came from all twenty of you?”

The crowd silently nodded their heads as confirmation to Jenkins deduction.

“I see… That does explain why I am starting to feel both the stings and the redness that’s coming from there.”

The old fella grabbed my hand and yanked it low where I almost lost my balance.

“Goodness Gracious! I forgot to introduce myself! I am Archbishop Havier acting on behalf of Pope Ferdinando of the Church of Light. And this courteous young maiden is the ‘Holy Maiden’ Jeanne, chosen by the Goddess Eline.”

Jenkins managed to get Archbishop Havier grip off from his hand. He opened and closed his hand to make sure there was no internal fracture. He was surprise that the old timer still has that much strength left in him.

“I know you got questions but unfortunately we are short on time since the King is expecting the heroes in five minutes. If you may, place you hand on this orb and don’t be startled if it flashes. That device is a tool to measure your magic power and your status.”

Jenkins placed his right hand on the orb, and it gave off a few odd color flashes. As he removed his hand from the device, he felts a suddenly chill as if someone is staring at him with malicious intent. Unable to locate the source, Jenkins shrugged it off and noticed Havier stroking his chin.

“Interesting. Your magic power is interesting. It might be intrusive of me to ask this, but may I see your status? I would like to confirm a hunch.”

Jenkin tilted his head in confusion since he was never told how to access the so called ‘Status’. Havier quickly followed up as he noticed the confusion on Jenkin face

“Right! You don’t know how to. Just either say or mentally think, ‘Status’ and it should pop up.”

  “Right...”

Jenkins silently muttered to himself and as he mentally though ‘Status’ a window popped up displaying a lot of numbers you could only see in an RPG game.

  [Faction: United States Forces

  Name: Jenkins

  Age: 20

  Gender: Male (Evolvable)

  Race: Human (Evolvable)

  Level: 1

  Class: Rear Echelon

  MP: 100/100

  Str: B

  Int: B

  Agi: B

  Mnd: B

  Luc: S+]

As Jenkin saw his status, he noticed that there is nothing outstanding besides the S+ ranked Luck. Since there is nothing to lose, he told the Archbishop his status. Havier continued to stroke his chin while muttering, “I see. I see.”

“Well now, since everyone has had their status checked. This way please.”

Archbishop Havier took the lead and left the room with the other heroes following behind him. As Jenkins followed behind, he slid his right hand down to his thigh where he had his M1911 side arm holstered. Using his index finger, Jenkins pushed the Slide lock down. He is still cautious from the malicious intent that he had felt earlier.

“Okay, it’s armed and live. Whoever directed that malicious intent is probably still lurking around.”

As Jenkins muttered to himself, the tour came to an abrupt end as the Archbishop delivered the heroes in front of a very large door that is well adorned. Jenkins glanced both sides of the hallway before directing his attention to the door. He let out a sigh as he realized this is probably going to turn into a hero cliché from novel books he had read back in his old world.

“So. This is probably the Audience Hall where the King, his family and his subjects gather. Now let’s see what this country or empire want us to do.”

The door opened and Jenkins with the rest of the other summoned heroes entered the Audience Hall. Little did he know of what he is about to embark will reshape himself and the world.
