Luke noticed his health was slowly picking up but his stamina was for shit. He shook his head, well at least it wasn't going down.
It wasn't long before they reached a creek. Luke looked back from where they had come and realised they were already outside the walls of some medieval city.
Then it hit him. He still hadn't tried the map function, or even tried to see whether he had one. He flopped down in the middle of the creek and let the water flow over him.
For a moment he just let the water cascade over him. It was cold but not freezing yet he could feel his body start to shiver so he quickly sat and removed his rags, using them to wipe of the detritus from what had been a very traumatic arrival to this new world.
He shrugged to himself. It was still better than being dead.
After quickly cleaning himself off he did his best to clean the rags. As he did he marveled at his physique. He hadn't been this fit since before the accident and his skin though lightly scratched and bruised was so smooth and supple.
After cleaning himself and his ragged clothes as best he could he sat by the side of the creek and waited to dry off in the morning light. He had no idea what time of year it was here or what type of climate it had but to him if felt like the end of spring, the beginning of summer.
He lay back and tried to calm his racing mind. So much had happened in so short a time span his head was reeling. One thing he did know, or at least thought he did was that Isekai meant monsters, magic and fighting.
He looked around and other than spying the girl on the edge of the encampment (shanty town) on the outside edge of the city looking back at him there was not a soul around.
Luke took a breath as he tried to visualize .“MAP.”
And almost immediately a screen popped up with a whole load of fog and a tiny patch of clear land. Thankfully because the tiny patch abutted the city it's name was proudly displayed above it.
“MAP”
CITY STATE OF UKRAVIA.
He grinned. “Well at least I know where I am....even if I don't know where that is.”
He sat and tried to think of all the RPG's he'd played in his life. Although he'd played a whole load he hadn't been much good. Fun though, just hope I'm better in “real life” than I was in the computer games.
Pity there's no mods, gaming was always a lot easier and a damn sight more fun with mods. A thought struck him as his mind wandered through all the things he could do if.....there.....were....
Luke quickly focused on the main screen and looked it over and shook his head.
No he needed something like a runscript or player.additem or something and for that he needed console commands.
He shut down the main screen and closed his eyes and visualized a keyboard then focused on the console command key.

He drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Everything around him was utterly silent. Gone was the water slowly lapping past him, the breeze had stilled completely and it felt like he was inside his home on a freakishly quite day. He blinked his eyes open and noticed the world around him was utterly still.
The only thing that moved at all it seemed were his eyes. Even the rest of him was frozen on the spot. There was a slowly blinking icon to the left of his vision and he felt his heart rate pick up.
“Fuck what should I try for?”
Money! cash or gold. Yes gold of course no use getting pound notes or euro's but gold, that was used everywhere. Unless you were in outer space and he really didn't think he was going to need ISK anytime soon.
Luke focused on the blinking icon
“Player.additem gold coin 1000.” ERROR. ITEM “Gold coin” NOT FOUND.
“What!? You gotta be kidding me! Fuck my life.”
He shook his head internally and tried again.
“Player.additem gold 1000.” ERROR. ITEM “Gold” NOT FOUND.
Luke gritted his teeth as he growled inwardly to himself. “Maybe I'm getting above myself having a thousand gold coins would definitely be OP. OK try a few silver and see what that does.”
“Player.additem silver coin 10.” ERROR. ITEM “silver coin” NOT FOUND. “UGH”
“Player.additem copper coin 10” ERROR. ITEM “copper coin” NOT FOUND. “Fuck!”
His stomach roiled and rumbled as he became agitated. “hmmm.. maybe something super simple.”
“Player.additem apple 1” ERROR. ITEM “apple” NOT FOUND. “Ah come on guy! Jesus you gotta be kidding me.”
Luke sat there wanting to gnaw on his thumb nail as he tried to think of another solution. obviously he was doing something wrong. He was close though, he knew it in his bones.
“What if I'm not a player? What if I'm a character, or an actual person?”
“Character.additem apple 1” ERROR. ITEM “apple” NOT FOUND. “Damn it.”
“Lucas.Flint.additem apple 1” ERROR. ITEM “apple” NOT FOUND.
“Fucking fuckety fuck fuck fucking fuck!”
“Additem apple 1”
A firm ripe deep red apple softly landed in his lap and his heart leapt to his throat not quite believing what he'd just witnessed.
Luke quickly dismissed his console command and a light breeze caressed his face as he slowly picked up the apple. He saw movement from the corner of his eye and saw the child edge closer to him. He felt the rumble in his stomach, god knows how long it had been since he'd last eaten. Certainly not in this world and even then whatever he had in his tummy had been hurled at the Atticus lookalike.
He sighed and raised the apple towards the girl. Her head popped up and was across the gap in seconds and before he knew it she was scampering away and chomping on the apple, halfway through it before she came to a rest where she had previously been.
“Wow you were hungry eh?”
SYSTEM UPDATE.
TITLE. MOD MAGE HAS BEEN EARNED.
Luke gasped and grinned. “Huh my first upgrade. Go me.”
Luke felt his stomach rumble. Titles and abilities were great, but food was better. He closed his eyes and focused again on the console command, when everything went silent he opened his eyes and smiled.
“Additem apple 10”
Nothing happened and he growled internally as he looked up at the screen. The order was there it hadn't been rejected as such but it had been greyed out. the item had been found...it was just too many?
He checked his stats and noticed Mana was down 2 points. Nodding He lowered the number and tried again.
“Additem apple 4”
4 apples dropped into his lap and he grinned internally as a wave of relief hit but the instant he dismissed the console command a spike of fire streaked through his head and he wretched trying to vomit up anything left in his stomach. Fortunately his stomach was utterly empty so all that came up were the dregs of acidic bile.
He groaned as he realised his mistake. “Fucking Mana deprivation. Shit.”
Then the world went dark.
When Luke awoke the sun was high in the sky and the heat of the full day beat down on him. He was hungry, thirsty and his head was killing him, he could barely move.
