heres a description of how I am envisioning Arbor as i write. The drawing to be determined.
Imagine a tree of truly impossible scale. Forget anything you've ever seen; this tree dwarfs mountains. Its trunk is so wide it could be miles across, forming the foundation of the city.
The Base and Walls: At its base, the immense roots spread outwards like colossal, gnarled tentacles. These roots interlock and weave together, creating a natural, living wall that encircles the lower part of the city – a defensive barrier made of living wood. Think of tree roots, but each one the size of a large building.
The Lower City: Nestled within the embrace of these roots and at the foot of the enormous trunk are the first levels of Arbor. Buildings, made of carved wood and other organic materials, huddle amongst the roots. These are bustling areas - markets sprawl across the ground, filled with strange goods and even stranger people. Craftspeople work in open-air workshops, the sounds of their activities echoing amongst the massive roots.
The Vertical City: But Arbor doesn't just spread outwards; it climbs the tree. As you look up, you see the city rising into the sky, built into the trunk and along its branches. Imagine gigantic, tiered platforms and structures carved into the living wood itself. The city's districts are arranged vertically, like layers of a cake.

Mid-Levels: Higher up, winding through thicker branches that could be miles across, are residential areas. Homes are built along the branches, and peaceful gardens are cultivated in massive bowls carved from the wood itself. Imagine valleys of greenery carved into the living wood of the tree. This is where the squirrel-like Sciurians live, amongst the Elves, nimble and quick, their homes nestled among the branches.
Upper Reaches: As you look even higher, towards the canopy, the city becomes more specialized. This is where the great libraries are housed, towering structures carved into the trunk and larger branches, filled with the accumulated knowledge of the ages. Grand academies of magic and scholarship occupy the highest levels, their towers reaching towards the sunlight above the canopy. The The Queens chambers and throne room are also up here. But we can get into that later. The air here is said to be clearer and more magically resonant.
Night and Light: And finally, imagine it at night. Giant fireflies, each larger than a human head, swarm among the branches. Their soft, bioluminescent glow illuminates the city, creating a breathtaking spectacle – a city of light woven into a living tree, a thousand moving lanterns amidst the wood.
Arbor is an awe-inspiring blend of the organic and the urban, a city built into a living mountain of wood, a place of impossible scale and fantastical beauty. It's a testament to the magic and the strange realities of the Twilight Lands. The full grown world trees are thought to have planets orbiting them instead of fire flies buzzing around. Arbor is an infant, growing so slow that hundreds of generations have come and gone and she's grown only a few feet.
