Unfought Wars hit 300 followers, which frankly feels like a completely astounding number to me. I wanted to celebrate and thank you all somehow, so I'm posting a bunch of illustrations featuring characters and situations from The Mountain Ride. These were captured by an anonymous portrait painter, who was tasked by the Tenorsbridge council to showcase the important people and situations related to Operation Aurora Device. The illustrations are all by the absolutely amazing artist !
Additionally, I want to run a small poll. The stats of Unfought Wars have been extremely weird for a RoyalRoad story for its whole run, so I’m using this as an opportunity to ask how y’all are doing. My poll options are all over the place, so just leave me a comment if none of these hit close!

"The second Janitor was much nicer to work with. I can see why people like her better. She asked for the clerk to pose with her, but it was really hard to sketch them when he kept squirming the whole time. I sort of understand him, though. She was a looker, for sure."

"Finally, people who know how to pose! I could make a living just painting the elf. The housewives of Tenorsbridge would pay gold for those portraits. The dark guy didn't move the whole time while posing. I wasn't sure he was even breathing. The dirty kid, on the other hand, didn't stay still for a second. I didn't have a single good sketch, but I just slapped some baggy clothes on her. It should be fine. Now, where the heck is my purse?"

"I was so excited to get to paint Corum Nihilm herself, but naturally I ended up getting in the middle of some duel. I hid with some young rural person behind a desk, but the portrait did turn out surprisingly well. I tried to ask what he was doing in her study, but he didn't seem to hear me. The poor guy didn't seem very clever."
