About two decades ago, a tectonic earthquake occurred in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The undersea quake created a giant tsunami, subsequently submerging several small islands and changing the geographic maps of several countries. On the same day, spatial distortions were created along the coastline and gave birth to a mysterious phenomenon called the Gate.
Like fantasy novels and comics for teenagers, mythological monsters began to arrive from the other side. Attacking coastal settlements, they spread to cities and even paralyzed the government system. It's like a flood of chaos, a walking disaster, and a real form of punishment for humanity.
People run helplessly, hide in fear, and can only pray. At least until the moment when they experience Manifestation, suddenly gaining mystical powers and being able to finish off the monsters.
Humanity's strongest moments are when they have a common enemy-
In just a few weeks, the people who managed to awaken their powers began to unite and strike back. Slaughtering the monsters, then closing one of the Gates and restoring the condition of the surrounding cities.
Like a domino effect, several countries followed suit and recovered. In just a few months, the disaster that seemed to be the end of the world was successfully dealt with by humanity.
At least, until the second and subsequent waves of chaos came. Slowly destroying the human world order, replacing it with an absolute line between the strong and the weak. An advanced version of social inequality, a caste that society took for granted.
Moral decline-
Lives began to be made into business, struggles became entertainment, and human value ended up being a mere statistic. The emergence of the gate is no longer a scourge, it ends up being used as a field for some groups.

Just five years after the Great Collapse, people no longer considered it a disaster. Officials in one of the countries in southeast Asia created a new order for countermeasures. The government began to set up special regulations to govern people who successfully Manifested their powers, and a special agency was established to look after them. Supervising, regulating, and guiding people to reduce crime rates.
Just two months after implementation, the UN decided to adapt the regulations and apply them to the entire country. Establishing a special body to manage the Gates and the people who managed to awaken their power, it was named Universal Protection or UP. The organization has several functions with specific specifications, but its functions are broadly divided into two.
First, minimizing the damage caused by the Gate. Whether before or after the event, even to the management of resources obtained from the Gate.
Secondly, it restricts the people who successfully awaken their powers. Giving them an occupational status called Explorers, then sending them inside the Gate so that it can be closed and no monster overflow occurs.
Thanks to the special rights that each country has agreed to, UP can run independently without being influenced by any country. It can monopolize resources, then expand their influence in each country without fear.
At least, until a mysterious overflow event suddenly occurred in the middle of the city. Undetected, without warning, it just happened like an accident.
It reminded humanity of an earlier catastrophe, later known as the Second Great Collapse.
Once again, the fabric of society was forced to undergo a major overhaul. The UP lost their power and were blamed by the people, replaced by autonomous governments in each country.
Yet, once again, humanity managed to rise up and adapt. Get used to the conditions, ignore the fear, and move forward to achieve something. As if they were limited to history, the First and Second Collapses only became historical material for the next generation. Written on a piece of paper, delivered, and ignored.
This is not a story of heroism or the struggle of mankind, but a painful picture of a structured society. Desire always comes before acceptance, which is why they choose to move on and regret it behind. Without considering the consequences or even the next generation.
