Chapter Three: Red Dragon, Doomed Role

Chapter Three: Red Dragon, Doomed Role

Because of this dream, I think I have an idea about the world I live in.

  It is a brutal world.

In short, this is a harsh, merciless world; where a common cold can kill you.

A world where survival is imposed in favor of the strongest, a world where humans are not at the top of the food chain.

A world where the roars of predators echo through the wilderness, and the danger of being hunted lurks in every corner.

A world where natural elements are both beautiful and deadly at the same time—fierce storms, scorching heat waves—capable of wiping out entire communities.

A world where the weak cannot live in peace.

Every day is a battle for survival, where individuals and groups fiercely struggle to secure food, shelter, and water. The weak and marginalized are often left behind, to be condemned to a fate determined by the cruel law of the jungle.

A merciless world, where no one stands in your way as long as you have power.

Whether you are a dragon or a heavenly emperor, as long as you have power… do as you wish.

In this painful and merciless world, where your race or occupation doesn’t matter, there is only one thing that does:

Being able to sense and absorb the energy that exists in this world.

Here, there are two types of energy:

  Spirit energy and mana energy.

Once you sense the presence of either of these energies and absorb it into your body,

you will begin to crawl among the strong.

And if you want to be among those who stand on their feet among the powerful and do whatever they wish,

then you need talent and resources.

Because hard work without talent or resources means you are just a legless ant crawling through a desert under the scorching sun.

If you don’t have talent, you won’t be able to do anything.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

Without it, all you can do is bully those who cannot feel or absorb energy.

  They are helpless people.

And their helplessness is what gives you the opportunity to bully them.

In this world, every day is a battle for survival, where individuals and groups fiercely struggle to secure food, shelter, and water.

The weak and helpless are often left behind, their fate determined by the harsh law of the jungle.

In this harsh world, as long as you have power, you can be whatever you want; whether you become a king or a beggar, no one will dare ask you what you’re doing.

And whatever you desire, with just a signal,

The weak will come to you as you wish, submissive and obedient.

It doesn’t matter who they are—whether a king, an emperor, or whatever their race—what matters is that you are stronger than they are…

Then they will become your servant.

After getting to know this world,

I started thinking about the egg.

Well, it seems my brother or sister will hatch at an odd time.

Anyway, I’ll take this time to get to know my body better.

But there’s another thing that concerns me… the memories of the bloodline.

It’s not that simple; they affect my thoughts and feelings.

These memories I hold now are just a small part of the memories stored in the bloodline.

And this makes me wonder how much energy I’ll need to adapt to the memories of the bloodline,

and what kind of change will occur in me…

Will it be for the better?

  Or for the worse?

In truth, I’m looking forward to it anyway.

These memories will be the cornerstone that will allow me to change my perspective on this world and adapt to its unforgiving nature.

From the information I obtained from the memories of the “bloodline,

It seems that this world resembles one of the novels I was reading two weeks ago, before I found myself in this body.

That novel wasn’t famous; I stumbled upon it by chance while searching for novels on Google.

I remember that the first chapter wasn’t special; the writer began with the death of the protagonist at the hands of his wife and close friend.

The important thing is that I wanted to give books a chance, so I started reading the rest of the chapters, and I was enjoying them.

At the moment, what made me think that this world is the same as the world of that novel,

is the similarity of the power stage classifications and bloodline classifications.

Then there was an arc in the novel called the “Red Dragon Forest.”

In this arc, the protagonist kills a red dragon, then, by coincidence, drinks its blood and obtains the red dragon bloodline.

The rank of the bloodline he obtained from that dragon was of the “Fifth-Grade Calamity” level,

and it was considered extremely rare.

And what’s even more amazing… is that my name matches the name of that dragon,

who was the protagonist’s opponent in the middle stage of the novel.

  It’s truly a strange thing.

  It’s truly a strange thing.

What increases my doubts is that I possess a bloodline of the “Fifth-Degree Calamity” level.

Then there’s another suspicious matter: a crimson dragon egg in the forest, not in the depths of a volcano as is usual.

And let’s be realistic, red dragons are known for living in volcanoes; they are fire creatures that prefer high-temperature environments.

So why, then, is there a red dragon egg in this dense forest?

Isn’t it known that red dragons don’t approach such areas?

Everyone knows that green dragons are the ones who inhabit dark, damp forests, not us.

  It’s a strange thing… even suspicious.

It’s clear that I’m just a supporting character,

In short, I’m a resource meant to serve the protagonist.

  Hah… a resource?

We’ll see who supports whom in the end.

I think he was looking for a quieter place… or maybe he just didn’t like the extreme heat!

Anyway, according to what I read in the novel, the crimson dragon wasn’t the only beast in the forest that possessed a rare bloodline.

In the novel, the protagonist allied with two of the strongest beasts in the forest, and they both possessed rare Fifth-Rank bloodlines.

It seems this forest was like a rare bloodline club, or maybe a hospital for special beasts!

Those two beasts were in the forest before the red dragon appeared.

And they allied with the protagonist to fight the dragon and plunder his resources.

It wasn’t just an alliance; it was more like a “Red Dragon Battle Club”!
