Chapter 5 : Turning to the Adventure Guild

The coin flipped high, tumbling end over end, fshing gold against the dim light. Before it could complete another spin, fingers cmped around it with a faint metallic click.

"Good catch, you idiot." Before Cilly could put the gold coin back in her pocket, she turned to Mica before giving her a pyful smile. "Thanks ehehe." She turned back before slowly rocking her body left and right, her tail swaying to the rhythm of the humming song of the woman washing dishes in the kitchen. In this moment of rexation, there was only the humming song of the woman and Skye who was lost in doubt in front of the mirror.

"Alright," Stevphen said with a sigh before standing up from her chair. "Then Mica Cilly, please take care of Skye's registration today. I have to take care of some errands. "Before Mica or Cilly could even open their mouths, Stevphen turned on his heel and strode out of the shop, leaving them no chance to protest.

Mica sighed. "Oh my, then... Cilly, get up. We're going." Cilly's ears twitched slightly before she made a zy sound. "Ahh, I know." She walked over before flicking a stone and hitting Skye's head as she stared bnkly in front of the mirror. "Stop being a sod and let's go."

"Oh, okay." Skye snapped out of his daze before following the two out of the shop.

"Where are we going?" Skye quickly quickened her pace and turned to face the two.

"The Adventurer's Guild," Mica answered ftly. "Wait, aren't you guys an Adventurer's Guild?" Skye asked with a gasp.

"Nope," Cilly replied in a ft tone like Mica. "I'm sorry about Stevphen. He always gets the cn and guild mixed up." Cilly turned to face Skye before narrowing her eyes and leaning closer to Skye.

"Is there something on my face?" Skye asked, bringing his hand to his face. "Nothing." Cilly turned back before walking briskly after Mica who was walking in front of her.

Along the way, there was the sound of bcksmithing, shops selling strange items, horse carriages passing by, people walking by, both humans and nonhumans, and even people wearing armor and carrying weapons. But they all spoke the same nguage, regardless of whether they were male or female, human or nonhuman. Before Skye even realized it, his feet had carried him to a towering wooden structure. A carved symbol of a compass, its dial adorned with a sword and dagger, loomed above the entrance.

"Umm, this is...?" Skye turned to face the two. "The Adventurer's Guild," Mica replied, walking ahead into the guild. Inside, no matter where you looked, you would see weapons tucked, slung, or carried by almost everyone's sides.

"What are you waiting for? Follow Mica in." The voice was followed by a 2-3 thud in the back.

"Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild. Are you here to register?" A female employee with yellow hair and bck eyes said in a gentle tone, and she slightly bent forward.

"Um," Skye turned to face Mica before he nodded. "Yes, I'm here to register. What do I need to do?"

"Understood. Please wait a moment." The employee went to get the documents from the rge wooden cabinet behind her before taking out the documents and walking back the same way.

"Please fill in the information truthfully and make sure that everything is filled in correctly." She held the documents towards Skye. Although her tone was gentle, she seemed quite serious about these documents.

Even though the letters were characters he had never seen before, Skye could read and write them. "Hm? Name-surname, date of birth, gender, that's all you need?" Skye thought to himself as he turned to face the female employee with a curious look in his eyes. She smiled and nodded in response. After Skye finished filling out the information, the female employee picked up a brown triangur wooden box.

"Please look over here, 3 2 1." The sound of a beeping sound came from the wooden box. After waiting for a while, the female employee handed Skye a card. "Here it is. Registration is complete."

What Skye received was a card made of some material that had a texture like wood but was as hard as metal. Skye's name and picture were engraved on the card. Skye held the card and slowly walked towards where Mica and Cilly were waiting. Before Skye let out a long sigh and banged her head on the table.

"What's wrong, blue-haired boy?" Cilly said with a trembling voice before she covered her mouth to try to hold back her ughter from the new name she had given Skye.

Skye sighed again. "I thought I would be able to test my mana level or get some cool rare power or something. But this is nothing. It's disappointing." Skye grumbled.

"Come on, you'll find out someday." Mica said softly before patting Skye on the shoulder.

"By the way, how do you guys know what skills you have? No, how do you open the menu window to see your state?" Skye looked up and asked Mica and Cilly before they looked at each other and let out a small ugh.

"There's no such thing. If you want to know about skills, you'll have to learn them yourself. No one is going to tell you what abilities or how to use "Your Arkend"." Mica said as he poked Skye's head with his finger.

"Yeah, the more states or things like that, the more ridiculous it is. Your own body, you have to learn it yourself." Cilly said as she put her hand on her chin.

After that the sound of a chair being dragged loudly. The sound stopped in front of the table where Skye was sitting.

"Remember, kid. This world is not like the games or animes you know. There are no menus, no states, no level systems. You have to learn everything by yourself," a man's firm voice said to Skye.

"Sorry, I seem rude. Let me introduce myself first. My name is Jack, but many people call me lumberjack." After the man finished speaking, he ughed out loud. When Skye looked at him, he looked like a middle-aged man with a rge build, bald head, and a yellow beard.

"Lumberjack? It suits you well, uncle jack," Cilly said, chuckling in her throat. "My name is Cilly. This is Mica the puppy." She introduced herself and gave a thumbs-up to Mica, who was sighing and covering his face.

Jack's ughter echoed throughout the guild, causing many people to turn to look. Even though he was talking normally, his voice was still loud enough to catch the attention of many people.

"Speaking of which... do you guys know about Aposliver ore?" Jack spoke softly and leaned towards Skye's group. " Hey, Jack Who wouldn't know? That ore is very valuable, and its properties are quite distinctive." Mica leaned straight up.

Before Jack could partly open his cloak, revealing a shiny silver axe. Mica sucked in a sharp breath, his fingers twitching at his sides. Cilly nearly dropped the gold coin she was flipping, her tail stiffening. Then, in perfect unison, they both blurted

"That axe! It's made of Aposliver!?" As the name of the ore ended, The entire room was filled with silence and gazes staring in the same direction, creating a sense of pressure on everyone present.

"By the way... what is Aposliver Ore?" Skye asked, turning to the people around him for answers. "I'm a newbie Newly," Skye said, pointing at himself.

"Dammit," Mica and Cilly thought to themselves before spping themselves in the face.
