CHAPTER 4

  Dear Diary, I’m OverpoweredEntry #4 – October 19th, Year 10 After War“Water Bombs, War Stories, and a Hokage-Sized Promise”

  Dear Diary,

Today was soaked. And on fire.At the same time.Which probably sums up my friendship with Takeshi.

So apparently, both our parents had a little “ninja council meeting” and decided that the two newest Senju brats (us) should train together from now on.They called it “reviving the Senju legacy.”I call it: Disaster Olympics.

So there we were, down at the edge of the river where the forest clears out just enough for ninja kids to cause problems. I had this idea. See, I’ve been feeling my water chakra more tely—it sort of hums in my belly and wrists when I focus just right. Not stable, but present.

  So obviously, I thought:

“What happens if I try to throw it?”

Like… literally throw chakra-infused water from my hands. No jutsu name. No hand signs. Just instincts and dumb courage.

Well, guess what?It worked. Kind of.First bst soaked Takeshi right in the face.

He stood there dripping, blinking, then smirked like a demon.

“Okay. Water versus Fire, then.”Next thing I knew, he was hurling fireballs that looked like spicy oranges at me. We were ughing, yelling, slipping around on mud, setting leaves abze, trying to outdo each other without any real control.

It was chaotic. It was awesome. It was the most alive I’ve felt since being reborn here.

  Then something cool happened.

We sat on the cliff above the river, panting, burnt, soaked, and proud of nothing we actually accomplished. That’s when Takeshi—serious for once—looked out toward the Hidden Leaf Vilge and said:

“Do you think we could be Hokage one day?”

  I blinked.Me?Hokage?

It hit different hearing it from someone else.So I asked, “Why do you want it?”

  He said:

“Because the Hokage protects everyone. They stand at the top, so no one has to suffer like the people did during the war. I wanna be that strong. Strong enough to protect everything.”

That’s when my dad showed up.Like, perfect dramatic timing. He always has that.

He sat down beside us and said, “You two want to be Hokage, huh?”We nodded like over-eager squirrels.

And then… he told us the story.

About the war. Ten years ago. The Fourth Great Ninja War, they called it. Shinobi from every nation, even enemies, united to fight something worse than all of them combined. An ancient being with the power to erase the world. Gods, monsters, lies, and heroes.

He said the battlefield stretched across the earth, and the air felt like death. He told us about Uchiha Madara, about the moon’s eye pn, about chakra trees and the dead coming back. And most of all, he talked about Naruto Uzumaki.

“The Seventh Hokage. He wasn’t the strongest by blood… but by spirit? No one came close. That boy changed the world by refusing to give up.”

Takeshi’s fists clenched. He stood up, fire literally puffing from his chakra.

“Then I’ll become the next Hokage! I’ll be the strongest, and I’ll protect everyone—just like him!”

I couldn’t help it. I ughed. Loud.I stood too, wiped mud off my face, and pointed at him.

“You? Hokage? Nah. It’s a race now, Takeshi. I’m aiming for it too. I’ve already been at the top once—I’ll do it again. This time, as Hokage!”

We didn’t shake hands or anything cheesy. We just bumped fists. His palm was hot. Mine was damp.Opposites. But burning with the same fire.

We didn’t know it then—but that was the start of everything.

End of EntryAsta drew a sketch of himself and Takeshi standing on the Hokage Monument, both wearing cloaks with “Hokage” written over the back—Takeshi’s has fire behind it, Asta’s a crashing wave.
