Chapter 1:Questions
I stared at that usually empty seat as my heart drop. My friend Priscil is not back yet. And she said she will be back in 1 day. Her st sentence echoed in my mind. “If I do not return in a day, you all can insult me all you want. For real.” She said that time, all cheerful and happy. It’s been 1 year since she dissapeared and I was seriously worried. Maybe she is ditching school using that as an excuse. Or maybe… she is one of them now. Those that went to the pce she st headed to. The haunted hallway of the school. They say everyone who went there either never returned or changed into a different person. And they all turn into the same personalities after leaving that pce.
Ha. I am just overthinking. Priscil is just one of my tomboy friends squad and she is too lucky to run into trouble. As I opened my friends chat, I see Priscil’s st message before disconnecting till now. “If I do not return in a day, insult me in front my face” with a ughing emoji. Things are getting suspicious as the time passed. 8 students went missing in 3 years and Priscil is one of them. Thats it. I decided. I am going to the stupid haunted hallway to check things out. I send a message in the chat, named “Tomboy crimes chat” and said: Hey girls, I am going to that hallway for 10 minutes. If I do not return, call me names I tell you to not call in front of me.” My friend, Kate’s message soon came. “Are you insane?! Or is your brain loading at the speed of a 2005 Nokia phone? All 8 students that disappeared all disappear at that hallway! Priscil also vanished, but guess she own me bubble tea after she return.” Kate continued in the message. It is math now. I am going to go to that hallway after school today. And while I am at it, I brought a water bottle and some snacks to eat if I am hungry. I then went to math css, excited about going to get Priscil out and get her to treat us to bubble tea.
“Ring…ring…” the dismissal bells rang. Everyone dashed out the cssroom door while I took slow steps to that hallway. When I entered the hallway, I am immediately greeted by a huge gust of red…mist? How in the world do red mist get here?! What even makes red mist?! I took cautious steps along the hallway walls. It is spattered with blood and save me lines. A thought suddenly hit me. What if… just what if… the myth is real and this pce is haunted? Suddenly, the temperature drops and the red mist densifies. I marked the wall with a marker, and kept running. Eerily, when I ran for a while, the marker sign is there. On the wall. And I only made one until then. I froze and ran even faster. The mark just keep appearing until I finally ran out of energy.
“Oh no. What did I do? Why in the world do I even come here?! I should have known the myth is real all along! I should really just stop Priscil from entering this stupid haunted hallway!” I muttered in desperation. I took out a snack and starts eating it. I made a bad choice. A very bad one. And now I need to cope with it until I get out of this pce. Wait. I brought my phone with me and I can send help! Even if I will be forced to treat them to tea after that. I immediately pulled out my phone and sends the message. Sending…sending…WiFi failed try again. I stared in disbelief on the phone screen. There is no way. “Kate, please receive the message… Caroline, please receive the message too… please…”
As the mist here thickens more, my vision soon become all blocked and everything went bck…
