‘Wait, Nemona doesn’t exist here?’
Nemona was the main character’s rival, a champion-class trainer who defeated the head champion. She was the one who taught the main character about the basics.
Since the main character is going to have to fight off the apocalypse of ancient pokemon, they’re going to need help with that.
But who…
Oh right, I heard there was an honours student in Naranja. Maybe he could help.
I got several pokeballs and started heading for school. On the way, I caught a Fletchling, Hoppip and Pawmi, which I named Pyro, Baabu and Zapp. Ember also reached level 10 along the way. All that time spent training it has paid off.
I reached Naranja Academy. They were having a Pokemon battle tournament. Unlike in the games, I suppose there were things to do before the Treasure Hunt.
I signed up and went to classes. Maths was easy, but History was definitely not my strong suit. I had to stay behind to catch up on some info with Ms. Raifort, the History Teacher.

Then came the tournament.
Ember and Pyro easily cleared through several waves, but they were a bit worn out. They were extremely motivated.
Then came the honours student, who was able to wield 6 Pokemon, one of the few who could. I decided to hide the fact that I could use 4 and just sent out Ember, intending to play it easy.
‘Ha, a bug! You think that will be good enough for the honours student, Felix? What a pity! I’ll kick you out of this tournament in a flash! Go, Floragato!’
A… floragato. Against a fire type. While Ember hadn’t learned any bug moves yet, ember was still a good attack.
Well, maybe it was incredibly strong?
’Ember, use Smokescreen!’
I covered the entire field in smoke, hiding in it. Unlike the games, smokescreen made it difficult for either side to hit each other, which is why Ember was a menace. It could sense presences using their heat signature.
’Now, use Ember!’
I half-expected it to jump aside. Instead, it just took it.
’Floragato, what are you doing? Fight back!’
’…Ember, try that again…’
Same thing happened. Was it a trap?
This happened with his next three Pokemon as well. Ember was capable of single-handedly demolishing the entirety of his team.
‘How… could this be.’
i watched as Ember’s level rose to 28. It was time to evolve.
How… did I just reach level 28 in the most easiest battle ever…
