Gryff and Brenn walked up the stairs of the Wild boar with a girl between the two. She was currently grabbing onto the side of Gryffs stomach, pinching it hard enough for it to tear off.
Nat knew Gryff had accepted a job from Sven, asking her to help provide a distraction the day before.
She didnt what Gryff had been planning, even if she did, she would have gone along with it either way, Tonight's job was simply too important for her to fuss over a few rumors. Though that didnt mean she had to like it, her face, almost as red as Brenn.
‘She seems less than enthused.’
“If you don't succeed, you better not bother coming back, I ain't the forgiving type.” Nat said, pressing her fingers harder into Gryff, channeling a slight bit of mana to make sure he felt it.
‘At least someone’s laughing’ Gryff thought, the echoing laughter of the tavern reverberating the floors, rumors already spreading of the two lucky boys. “Maybe don't fling chicken grea- ow, ow fine… you don't have to worry,I've yet to fail at a job.”
“Only reason you aint dead” Nat replied, opening the door to her room, It was rather small with a simple desk for paperwork and a shelf filled with books. Despite the manner she showed when eating, though most of it was simply to annoy Gryff, her room was spotless.
After picking up a book related to the rune of light, she threw herself onto her bed uncaring for the two youths in her room. “Windows right there, it’ll lead to the back of the building, make sure not to linger.”
“Thank You, Nat” Brenn and Gryff said before jumping out of the window despite it being on the third floor.

After switching with another group two middle aged men with body armor hidden in their street clothes stood guard at the gate of a large mansion. Despite it being the middle of the night distance warm glows of fire filled the sky, not long ago messages started arriving of fire spreading through the entire district, usually they would have let the city burn, but most of the fires had target the ther warehouse, gambling dens, every source of income was currently under attack
It wasn't just Georges gang either, multiple gangs had been targeted, the arsonists still unknown, still human were the type to look for reasons. Almost everyone in the mansion was outside, fighting off the fire and the gangs invading their turf, retaliation for the fires, blaming any neighboring gang for starting the blaze.
“Hey, That a kid?”
“Yeah, must've been looking for a safe place from the fires, I'll go scare 'em off.” One of the two men approached the boy pulling out it his gun as he walked, “Hey kid this aint a safe place to be in fuck off bef- Gryff? ” Half and halfs weren't rare, but the man knew of only one with stone-like skin.
Before the man could pull up his gun, Gryff jumped from the ground, caving in his skull with his knee, flying into the air before crashing into the ground with a thud.
Seeing this, the man’s partner raised his gun into the air, bullets wouldn't have had any affect on Gryff, but its loud sound would alert the compound of attackers. However, Before he could pull the trigger Brenn came at him from the side, cutting the head off of the last guard.
Without stopping the two kept running, Gryff smashing through the fence. Despite being able to jump the walls, Brenn presumed they were enchanted. Unwilling to risk being caught so early, the two decided to go through the front gate.
Ordinary the large number of guards would have spotted the two before they could get inside, the entire compound proceeded to mobilize to apprehend the two, but thanks to Gryffs distraction the place was relatively empty.

Still some precaution had to be taken, the two stopped at the front door, before a light blinked twice from the window above. Kat had been able to disable the front alarm allowing the two to enter the main house unimpeded.
Gryff walked in through the double doors first, scanning the area for any sign of magical traps, before signaling Brenn to follow. The two always proceeded the same way, Gryff heading in first, the lack of mana radiating from him making him undetectable to traps. Brenn followed behind, placing wards along the way, alerting them if anyone was coming from behind. The two quickly sneaked up the stairs channeling mana onto their hearing when they reached a corner.
The footsteps of three guards could be heard patrolling the area, coming closer to them. They waited quietly in the dark, letting the guards draw near. The two quickly sprung into action when the guards turned the corner, Brenn shooting stone projectiles from his hand at the two furthest guards, and Gryff grabbing the throat of the one closest to him. The stone projectiles shattered the skulls of the two guards, while Gryff crushed the throat of the guard in his hand.
The two dragged the guard underneath the table, the lack of lighting making them hard to notice. Despite the fires outside and the moon glowing brightly the large house was filled with darkness. The house featured a lack of windows, providing privacy to George's customers, a boon for the two intruders.
The light shining from the lanterns of the guards made them easy to notice, Brenn only able to follow Gryff even Brenn could not see following Gryff by hearing him, relying on his companions night vision.
After dealing with another patrol the two found the window they had seen at the front entrance, providing a great view of the courtyard below. Standing next to it was a little girl, seemingly 12 cycles, with black hair and eyes reminiscent of the people from the north.
Despite the guards dead below her, she had a smile on her face while running up to Gryff. Despite their age discrepancy she was only slightly smaller than Gryff. “Brother, you’re here.”
‘Brother’ Gryff hated when she said that word, she was no sister of his. However he hid such thoughts from her, not wanting to lose a decent pawn. “Kat I told you to call me Gryff, brother is a bit stiff, did you manage to manage George's office?.”
The girl simply nodded and started walking, waving Gryff to follow. Gryff followed along, ignoring the glare from Brenn. While Gryff despised hearing her call him brother, Brenn was rather happy whenever she did, despite the hatred of his family. He still cared for his younger sister, likely not being involved in his attempted fratricide, at least he hoped she wasn't.
The two followed Kat, not bothering to hide their presence, anymore. The trail to George's office was littered with bodies, while they had taken the time to sneak around, Kat had simply decided to kill everyone patrolling the route.
Despite her size, or more so because of it, Kat had been able to easily kill the patrols, hiding under furniture to ambush unsuspecting guards from behind before stepping back into the shadows to wait for more. Those she hadn't been able to catch by surprise fell in the same manner, approaching her without a shred of caution, before having a knife stuck in their throat or a stone casted at high speeds shattered their skulls.
She wasn't able to see in the dark like Gryff, nor did she have the skills to move around with just hearing like Brenn, she simply memorized the layout of the compound during the day. The fools even lead her to the Georges office, bringing her to show off their new prize. With her emerging looks, George had decided to put a hold on her, wanting to find an appropriate customer for her.
“They fed me quite well and even gave me a few dresses to put on. Of course since brother Brenn always told me to show my thanks, I killed the maid servants swiftly so they wouldn't feel any pain.” Kat said happily, she hadn't seen her brothers in a week and was excited to tell them about her mission, chatting all the way to George's office, ”Anyways, we're here.”
Brenn threw a concerning look at Kat. “That's not what I meant… I understand why you killed the guards but the servants as well?”
“You always mutter about wanting to kill scumbags? So I did” Kat said, throwing a confused gaze at Brenn. “Brother Brenn really is stupid sometimes.” she knew brother Brenn knew a lot, but could only think his comment was out of stupidity. The maidservants were as bad as the men, only someone complicit would let them live.
Three Cycles ago Gryff and Brenn attacked a warehouse, after killing every guard Gryff went to attack the servants as well, not wanting any witnesses. However Brenn stopped him, refusing to let him kill the bystanders, after a bit of yelling the two simply let them go. Proceeding to loot the place before burning it down, finding a group of women and children in the process. They had not come to rescue the kidnapped women, simply disrupt the business of one of their rivals. However there was no reason to leave them inside either, freeing them and directing them to Sven the two watched the brothel burn to the ground.
However a small girl refused to leave Gryffs side, seemingly a bit traumatized after witnessing the horrors within. After returning home a fight ensued, Gryff wanted to abandon the girl, but Brenn refused to comply. Yet when the girl saw them fighting she had taken Gryffs side, she refused to listen to Brenn, only stating “you let them go, so you must be bad too”.
“Indeed, Brother Brenn can be an idiot sometimes.” Gryff chuckled as he opened the door to the office.
It was rather tidy, books were neatly stacked in the shelves on the left and a cabinet containing glass bottles was on the right. Heading to the right, Gryff opened the cabinet and started pouring a drink… down his throat.
“So Kat did you spot where George keeps his valuables.”
“Of course Gryff.” Kat rushed to the painting she had seen taken down before, unveiling a safe hidden behind. She moved the dial in the pattern she saw before, hearing a click as it opened.
“Good job” Gryff took a bottle for the road and examined the content. There were folders neatly labeled and stacked alongside the paper certificates used in the inner districts. Gryff took the neatly stacked folders checking for information involving the noble, confirming the evidence was there Gryff set it aside and took everything else in the safe, the job was to burn the evidence but nothing was said about the rest of the contents.
