I need to think fast, or I’ll lose myself. My hands and feet are tied — but I can still talk. So, I have my teeth. My hands are bound with some kind of belt. If I try hard enough, maybe I can chew through it.
I tried. After a few minutes, I gave up. But then I noticed something — the green-eyed furry had made a big mistake. He forgot to take the spoon. I hid it. The spoon had a slightly sharp edge. I began cutting the belt with it.
A few minutes ter, I heard footsteps. The blue-eyed furry entered the room.
“Did you see the spoon? Please be honest. If I see it — I’ll have to infect you.”
It was risky, but I lied. “No, I haven’t seen it.”
He searched me — like airport security. But he didn’t find anything. I had hidden it inside a sofa cushion, deep in the soft stuffing.
Once he left, I kept cutting.
After over an hour, I was free. I didn’t hear any sounds, so I slowly sneaked out of the room. One of the doors was half-open. There was a kitchen — and a window.
Under the table, I saw my rucksack. I grabbed it — and got an idea. I opened a kitchen shelf. There was a huge knife. A few seconds ter, the knife was in my bag.
I climbed onto the table and opened the window.Suddenly, I heard someone running.
It was Blue.
“Don’t move! Come back, please. Don’t make me infect you!”
I knew it wasn’t a bluff. I was almost out of the window when he sprinted toward me. I quickly pulled the knife from the bag and threw it at him.
It cut across the top of his shoulder. He stopped, staring at me in shock.
Then Green came in and started shouting.
“What did you do?! Why?! We helped you! We wanted to build a new community — and you could’ve been a part of it! We could’ve changed the world! But you refused! I hope you die from starvation, and that wild animals eat your bod—”
I didn’t listen. I was already running — out of Oslo, away from this madness.
