“And, for the millionth time, I understand that that’s your current perspective.” Zay said, “And I’ll just continue telling you about what happened now.
So, after my disastrous marriage I wasn’t going to get married again, but I did sometimes go out and party and would have one night stands with people but would always refuse to take things any further than that.
Well, eventually one of those one night stands ended up getting me pregnant even though I’d been using birth control, and I figured that I’d give the kid up for adoption so that the kid wouldn’t grow up with me as their parent and then have me kidnapped someday if my enemies ever found me.
Well, it turned out that the world can be too cruel of a place to allow such plans to happen sometimes…
I was walking through the city one time and I suddenly heard some people who were in an alleyway fighting, and I quickly sped up my pace so that they wouldn’t drag me into it.
Unfortunately, though, a couple of them rushed out of the alleyway, grabbed me, and dragged me into the alleyway too.
I don’t want to go into all of the details about what happened, but I will say that I was raped and that I was also kicked and punched.
Those monsters would have probably killed me, but then some people entered into the alleyway and told the men that they could either get lost or die.
Some of the men ran, but the others decided to fight the newcomers.
The newcomers quickly killed the men who hadn’t fled, and they immediately rushed me to the hospital for medical treatment.
I asked them who they were, and they said that they were members of a group called The Vigilantes but didn’t give me any more information than that.
The doctors were able to get me physically back to normal, but the unborn baby had been murdered by the men who had raped, beaten, and had probably planned on murdering me.
Something inside of me broke after that, and I was filled with a constant and unquenchable rage at violent aggressors that I knew would lead me to taking action against evil people like those who had brutally attacked me and had killed my baby.
That baby had deserved the best life possible, and I had been preparing to make sure that my baby went to a very loving couple who would give the child a wonderful life, but instead my child had been murdered and while I was glad that some of the men responsible had been killed I was furious that some of the men had been allowed to escape.
And so I soon managed to find someone who was really good at hacking, and I asked him if he could use his hacking skills to get any video camera footage from when the attack/murder had happened.
He was able to, and we were able to figure out where the men had gone to and where the men lived.
I thanked him and paid him, and then I purchased some guns and I went to where the men lived and I killed them.
But even after killing them, my rage was boiling even more than ever, and so I began trying to figure out how to find other people who had committed similar evil deeds so that I could kill them too.

As I was doing research, there was a knock on my door, and I went over to the door to find that there was nobody there anymore but that there was a note for me.
I read the note, and it said, “Call this number if you want to be a part of what we’re doing. -The Vigilantes”
I quickly called the number, and I had a long discussion with the person who answered the call.
The person explained what The Vigilantes were about, and made it very clear that what they mostly did was figuring out what people had committed murder and gotten away with murder and hadn’t been imprisoned for it and then they would kill those people.
The person told me that me having been saved in the moment by some people who were members of The Vigilantes was not usually how things went because what they usually did was get proof of murders that hadn’t led to the murderer being imprisoned and then they would kill the murderers.
I said that I absolutely wanted to join them, and I agreed to abide by their rules, and I’ve been a vigilante killer for The Vigilantes ever since then.”
I sat there in stunned silence for a while, and words didn’t seem to be able to be sufficient to try to comfort Zay after hearing about what had happened to her.
After a while of silence, I said, “I’m so sorry that those evil people committed those atrocities, and I’m certainly not going to deny that The Vigilantes is saving Iives through their vigilante killing.”
Zay was now crying, and she nodded and said, “Some people need too be stopped, Vex. They just need to be…” through her tears.
We sat there in silence for a while longer, and then we finally reached a hotel to stay at for the night, and the two of us were soon asleep and then before long the next day arrived.
Then Zay drove me further the next day, and then she finally said, “This is as far as I can take you, Vex. And so now you get to decide, will you join The Vigilantes, or will you get out of this car and never see me again…”
I wanted to tell her that this wasn’t my fight…
I wanted to tell her that I was thankful for the ride but that I couldn’t trust myself to follow the rules that The Vigilantes had.
I wanted to walk away from the car and wish her the best.
But I didn’t feel like I could just part ways with her for some reason, and so I said, “I don’t know if I can join The Vigilantes, but I want to return to your city with you and maybe even help you find your parents someday. Is that alright?”
“That is acceptable.” she said; and so she did u-turn, and we began traveling back towards her city…
We still weren’t talking much as we drove, but inwardly I was still having a fierce debate with myself.
Couldn’t I just say at any moment that I’d changed my mind and that I wanted to get out of the car now?
I mean, this was crazy! I was heading back to a city that was very close to where law enforcement wanted to put me into prison for life for murder!
Hell, if anyone were to figure out who I was then they’d probably turn me in to get handsomely rewarded for it!
I should be traveling as far away as possible from my city! Getting close to where my city was again was crazy! Was I crazy!?!
Suddenly, as I was thinking, a bunch of cars surrounded Zay’s car and forced her to stop driving.
“Oh no!” I said in a panicked tone of voice, “It’s the same people who kidnapped your parents! This is all my fault because I caused you to drive so far away!”
“Don’t try to resist!” Zay whispered furiously, “If it’s the same people then we’re dead if we fight back against them! And they might let you leave if they’re just after me…”
I wanted to scream and fight the masked people who were now entering the car and removing Zay from the car, but her words were true and me fighting them could lead to both of us being killed on the spot!
The masked people soon drove off with Zay and left me by myself and fuming in the car! Just then I heard what sounded like a phone ringing, and I searched around the car until I found the phone.
I answered the call, and a voice said, “Don’t worry, Vex, we were hoping that this would happen. Zay has an undetectable tracking device, and we’re using it to track her location. With any luck, those masked people are going to lead us straight to where Zay’s parents have been held captive for all of this time…”
