Chapter 283: Sword God Training

Dj began to outline the path toward Sword Godhood for Bee and Becky. “Alright, here’s the deal. First off, you gotta hit Sword Magic Level 1, then move up to Level 2, and finally, Level 3. Mastering Level 3 alone can take years—it’s all about forging a deep bond with your sword. This ain’t just about swinging it around; you need to get to know its soul.”

He paused before continuing. “Once you’ve got that connection and the sword’s soul is fully revealed to you, that’s when you’ll officially become a Sword God.”

DJ then leaned in. “But given the urgency, I’ve got a more intense training plan. It’s gonna push you to your limits and beyond, and you’ll face challenges you never thought possible. But it’s a quicker way to unlock your true potential.”

Sybil stepped forward. "And what about me? I want to get stronger too."

Gaiza and Elena followed suit. The women surrounded Dj, each eager for greater strength. Dj, with a calm demeanor, raised a hand.

Dj raised up a hand. "Ladies, ladies, one at a time. We're gonna make everyone stronger, but it's a process. Patience is key here."

The lively chatter around Dj's impromptu training session was interrupted by someone speaking mischievously. "Well, well, Dj sure is getting a lot of attention, isn't he?"

The group turned their heads to see Jayla, a young woman with distinctive pigtails and a unique gothic style. She casually strolled towards them. Dj raised an eyebrow at her arrival.

"Jayla? I didn't know you left your domain," Dj remarked,

Jayla smirked. "Well, I had to slip away while Roy wasn’t watching. Heard there was something intriguing going down here, and you know me—I can’t resist a chance to shake things up."

Dj chuckled. "You always know how to make an entrance. What brings you here, other than stirring up trouble?

Jayla twirled a strand of her golden-blonde hair, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Oh, just the usual. Thought I'd crash the Eastern Annual Tournament and add a little chaos to the fray. Plus, I've got this little trinket." She held up the Star Jewel, a Goddess item, with a sly grin.

Dj turned to the group, a playful smile on his face. “Everyone, meet Jayla. She’s got this love-hate thing going on with me. One minute she’s all sweetness, and the next, she’s ready to rip my head off."

Jayla scowled at Dj's introduction, crossing her arms. "Oh, please. Don’t buy into his dramatic flair. He loves to make everything sound like some twisted soap opera."

Dj chuckled. "Dramatic flair? Come on, Jayla, you know it’s true. Last time we crossed paths, you said we had to go through you to get the Star Jewel."

Jayla rolled her eyes. "Well, I couldn’t just hand it over without adding a little thrill. What’s the point in a dull exchange?"

Dj shrugged. "Fair enough. Looks like Jayla’s here to shake things up in the Eastern Annual Tournament. Should make things more interesting."

Jayla glanced at the group, her eyes lingering on Dj and Becky. With a mischievous smile, she declared, "If I win this tournament, I'll give Dj the Star Jewel. A promise."

Dj raised an eyebrow. "Really? That's unexpected. Is that a promise?"

Jayla nodded, a confident glint in her eye. “Yep. But only if I win. And if you win, Dj, I’ll do anything for you. Anything. Maybe even be your girlfriend."

Dj's expression shifted to one of mild discomfort. “Uh, thanks, Jayla, but I’m not really interested in that anymore.”

Jayla's playful demeanor turned into a scowl. "What? You ungrateful little... Fine, have it your way. But don't come crying to be mines when you regret this."

Jayla turned away with a huff, crossing her arms in frustration. Dj shook his head. In the background, Becky wore a scowl,

Becky turned to Sybil, her frustration evident. "Who does that girl think she is, saying she'll be Dj's girlfriend?!"

Sybil placed a calming hand on Becky's shoulder. "Hey, calm down. Dj made it clear he's not interested. Let's focus on getting stronger for the tournament instead."

Becky took a deep breath. "You're right. I just don't like people messing with Dj like that."

Later that day, Dj made his way to the Eastern Sword School, seeking out Okun for a friendly spar. As always, Okun greeted him with a nod.

Okun unsheathed his blade. Dj mirrored the action with a confident smile playing on his lips. The clash of steel echoed through the training grounds.

Okun charged at Dj with precision. His blade moved with the fluidity of a seasoned warrior, aiming to test Dj's abilities.

Dj, with a relaxed yet focused demeanor, met Okun’s charge effortlessly. His blade moved with a natural ease and executed blocks with seemingly minimal effort. Okun's eyes widened with amazement. He could see the fluidity and grace in Dj’s movements. With a single, decisive move, Dj disarmed Okun, sending his sword skidding across the ground.

The clang of steel against stone echoed in the training grounds as Dj lowered his blade. He offered a respectful nod to Okun. Okun sheathed his sword and looked at Dj with curiosity.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

"Dj, it seems you've obtained Sword God form," Okun said while raising one hand under his chin. "How did you achieve such a feat so quickly?"

Dj nodded. "It's a long story, my friend. But for now, I need to borrow one of the training rooms. I have a feeling Gustavian is still up North, and I need to prepare for what's coming."

Okun nodded. "Of course, Dj. Take one of the training rooms whenever you need it. We'll catch up later. Just be careful, and don't let your guard down."

  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dj took a deep breath, preparing to share the secrets of the Sword God form with the eager group before him after entering one of the training rooms. Aliana stood by his side. The rest of the team, Gaiza, Elena, Bee, Becky, and Sybil, stood in a line, dressed in the distinctive novice uniforms of the Eastern Sword School.

The uniforms were form-fitting blue jackets adorned with silver designs along the edges. The emblem of the Eastern Sword School was proudly displayed on the left chest. They wore matching blue pants. Around their waists, each member sported a novice belt—except for Bee, who wore a belt of slightly higher rank.

Dj, with a calm and collected demeanor, began the lesson. "Alright, everyone, listen up. Achieving Sword God form isn’t something you just stumble into. It takes serious dedication, discipline, and a connection with your sword that goes beyond the ordinary.”

He motioned to the blades at their hips. "These swords? They’re not just tools; they’re extensions of who you are. To reach Sword God form, you’ve gotta forge a bond so tight with your sword that you and it are basically one. It’s about feeling its soul and letting it guide you in the heat of battle."

Aliana interjected. “And remember, it's not just about power. Sword God form is about balance, control, and the ability to harness your magic in harmony with your swordsmanship."

Dj nodded in agreement. "Exactly, Aliana. Now, let's start with some basic exercises to attune yourselves to your swords.”

Dj led the group through a series of exercises. Each member focused on their sword, striving to deepen the connection between blade and wielder:

  1. Sword Meditation: Dj guided them in a meditation session, urging everyone to clear their minds and concentrate on the essence of their swords.

  2. Sword Control: The group practiced intricate sword movements, starting slow and deliberate. Dj emphasized the importance of precision and control.

  3. Elemental Fusion: Dj introduced the concept of fusing their elemental magic with sword techniques. Aliana conjured icy blades, Bee wielded ice and water magic, and Sybil infused her strikes with a gentle yet powerful wind.

  4. Team Coordination: Gaiza, Elena, Becky, and Sybil synchronized their movements, creating a fluid dance of blades. Dj emphasized the significance of teamwork, stressing that unity among the group would be crucial in their journey to Sword Godhood.

  5. Sword Magic Intensity: The novices gradually increased the intensity of their Sword Magic. Sparks flew as Dj encouraged them to push beyond their limits. Bee's magical concoctions intensified, and Becky's fiery swordplay erupted with fervor.

And now the final training of the day began, which was Sword Combat:

Becky charged forward with relentlessly with her hammer poised to strike. Dj effortlessly sidestepped her attacks, his movements a dance of finesse and agility. Becky swung with all her might, but each blow met only empty air.

Frustration etched across her face. "Why can't I land a hit on you?"

Dj replied, "You're focusing too much on power, Becky. Speed is just as important. You need to try and outmaneuver your opponent."

Becky adjusted her strategy. She focused on outmaneuvering Dj. With a precise swing, she nearly managed to graze Dj.

Dj’s eyes lit up with approval. “Nice job, Becky. You’re really finding your rhythm now. Your combo of speed and power is becoming more on point.”

Becky’s cheeks flushed with a proud smile. “Thanks, Dj! I’ve been putting in the work, and I’ve been itching to land a hit on you. It’s amazing to get so close!”

Dj smirked “You’re doing great. Just keep practicing, and you’ll be landing hits with ease. Remember, it’s all about finding that balance.”

Becky’s smile widened. “Oh, you don’t have to tell me twice! I’ve got a lot more where that came from. I’m gonna show you just how far I can go!”

  Round 2: Sybil vs Dj

Sybil, her blade infused with the gentle caress of wind magic. She launched herself at Dj with remarkable speed, though there was a noticeable lack of force in her strikes.

Dj gracefully evaded Sybil's attacks, by raising one hand to catch her blade, he managed to halt her assault. "Sybil, what are you afraid of?"

Sybil paused with a stunned look. "Afraid? I... I'm not sure what you mean."

Dj studied her with perceptive eyes. “Your attacks are missing something, Sybil. I know there’s more strength in you. So, what’s really stopping you?”

Sybil hesitated. "I... I guess I'm afraid of hurting someone, of going too far."

Dj nodded knowingly. “Finding balance is key, Sybil. You can’t afford to hold back. Learn to control your strength, because not everyone will play fair. Now, let’s see what you’ve really got.”

Sybil took a deep breath. With great focus, she summoned a powerful wave of wind magic, channeling it through her blade. The force of the gusts was enough to propel Dj backward. His feet skid across the ground.

When the wind subsided, Sybil rushed forward, her face was flushed. "I'm so sorry, Dj! I didn’t mean to push you back like that…"

Dj, brushed himself off with a calm demeanor. "No need to apologize, Sybil. That’s exactly the kind of power you need to harness. It’s a part of who you are, and you need to let it out more often."

Sybil's eyes widened in surprise. "You really think so?"

Dj nodded. “If you’re afraid of pushing too hard, you’ll always hold yourself back. Embrace your strength, and learn to control it."

Becky, having listened to the exchange between Dj and Sybil, stepped up behind her. “Look, I don’t think Sybil’s afraid of getting stronger. I’ve been with her practically all my life. We’ve always had lousy magic affinity, but ever since we started using Dr. Kintovar’s tech—like my hammer and Sybil’s sword—things have been different.”

Dj glanced at Becky, intrigued. “So, you’re saying there’s more to Sybil’s hesitation?”

Becky nodded. ““Exactly. Sybil’s had a massive power boost lately, and yeah, she’s still getting used to it. She’s just a bit jittery right now. But once she gets to know you better and trusts your guidance, she’ll really start to shine.”

Round 3: Gaiza and Elena vs Dj

Gaiza, channeling the power of water, surrounded her blade with a liquid. She attacked fierctly with each swing leaving trails of water in its wake. Elena, on the other hand, focused on her swordsmanship, delivering precise strikes with calculated movements.

Dj, facing the dual assault, gracefully evaded their attacks. After a series of exchanges, he halted their onslaught. "Good effort, but there's something missing," he remarked.

  Gaiza and Elena exchanged glances.

"You both need to find a greater purpose behind your blade," Dj explained. "Your skills are there, but your strikes lack the drive to truly connect. Think about why you’re wielding that sword. What’s the purpose behind every swing? Let that purpose fuel your moves and guide your blade."

Taking Dj's words to heart, Gaiza and Elena nodded in understanding.

  Final Round: Bee vs Dj

  Bee faced Dj.

"Big brother, you better be ready!" Bee declared with a mischievous grin playing on their lips.

Dj chuckled, twirling his blade. "I’ll admit, you’ve got some moves, but let's see if you can keep up with me."
