Amongst the powers that be, it is well known that Earthling souls are powerful and are highly sought after. So much so that there is a line for any souls they can summon up from the unknown dimension that they originate from. They are so sought after that there are deities who have dedicated their entire existence to finding the Earth dimension which must assuredly be highly magical and fantastical to produce such powerful souls. Too bad they would not find it using that assumption as a dimension such as the one Earth resides in is an uninteresting and mundane one that everyone looks over or straight up ignores.
Woe to those who waste away on a fools quest and woe to the GM who didn’t notice the human soul Justin floating about alongside the three hundred thousand sentients that had been randomly fished up from the multiverse. One Earthling soul is worth ten million ordinary souls or a billion units of soul power; twice the amount the Game Master currently had. Whoever wins the bet on Justin is going to have a happy day not that it matters right now. Justin was ruminating on his past.

I’m proud of my death. Ok that came out wrong, what I mean is that I died with a heroic end by saving two lives from a falling steel beam. Pushed them away is what I did and got crushed for it. It was not a quick death. I screamed in agony before I perished by blood loss and perhaps shock. The scene passed through my head numerous times while I was thinking of my family and a future that could have been.
My grieving continued even after an angel told me “By God’s will, you are to leave this dimension and do as you wish until the end of time where you will be judged like anyone else.” That experience made me briefly think that it is nice to get a confirmation on some things. Death still sucks and recent events just serve to make me angry.
I mean seriously! Deities’, reincarnation and I would not be surprised if flipping Fate exists too! Now I’m stuck in a gladiatorial arena for the entertainment of these deities’, I’m dead and I didn’t get to go the Heaven! &@#% list profanities here &@%!(
…
It took me another hour to get over my emotional outburst. My conclusion was: stuff happens so suck it up and if life gives you lemons make lemonade. My life ended on a heroic note and I have an opportunity to make my future fool-proof… according to this extensive list of reincarnation options the [Soul Skill: Preserved Reincarnation] prevents memory wipes and soul power drains during reincarnation. It’s expensive for a lame sounding skill, like a thousand points. To give context of how expensive this option is a thousand points can have you reborn as a dragon, a crown prince or give you immortality. In general it seems soul skills are expensive because they persist beyond a single reincarnation.
I know that because it took me ten hours to go through most of the reading material. I now know that reincarnating as a single cell bacteria is free and that scares me.

Yep, ten hours. I open the ‘build your mecha’ menu since I finished motivating.
I’ve had a couple of ideas, mostly inspired by media. Let’s see… powerhouse mecha, hive/mothership, transformer. I’m leaning towards a mecha based on ideas like ‘exodia the forbidden one’ and Power Rangers. You know, Combining multiple robots to form a stronger one. The next words I read gave me doubts on what I could do.
I’ve read about this, the Games Arena relies heavily on something called The System, whatever that is, to achieve fantastical feats contained within such small material bodies. The limiting factor is how much power your soul can bear. For entertainment purposes there are no limitations to Soul Power; which I consider unfair but then again it is a game not a sport.
As a mundane human I cannot assume that my soul power can stand up against any opponent no matter how weak. So I immediately look at the first and cheapest core type on the top of the list. What the beep.
With a cost like that I can imagine how big other mechas can be. A quick calculation measures a lesser liquid metal core at 909,091 cubic metres in size and its liquid body at 90,909,100 litres using one million BP and 9091 SP. That’s ridiculous! I soon look at the bottom of the list and therefore the most expensive.
Omega Star Core is obviously out of my budget due to the sheer Soul Power requirements. After 5 hours reviewing the entire list from both the core and body lists I came to the conclusion that just about anything can be afforded but the real limitation is how grand you can get with Soul Power. Of course one can simply create a small cost core and invest everything else in body. A viable strategy but real power seems to lie in the core.
With every scrap of information absorbed at the forefront of my mind it is now time to build my mecha.
