Quickly analyzing them both, he looked at the stats.
He also noticed the bag of holding, but for some reason when he tried to Analyze it, it wouldn't work.
*Well, this is some pretty decent gear. This pickaxe is extremely strong, and by mining I should be able to increase my physical stats while fighting against the Rock Crabs should give me more levels and mental stats.*
Remembering he had 9 stat points left over, he quickly put them all into strength. Looking around, he saw a sign on the floor. Left for foreman, right for mining.
*Welp, right it is.*
He quickly began jogging until he found the mines, which took about 10 minutes. He would have collapsed not even a quarter of the way through if he didn't keep reminding himself that all this pain is just fake and from a game. he found himself in a 5 meter tall clearing. He was alone here, and he could clearly see mixed about with the gray stone a bluish glow. Quickly going over to it, he lifted his pickaxe above his head and swung down.
The pickaxe quickly fell and made a crack in the stone. Lifting it up agaion, he swung again. This time, a few pieces of bluish stone fell. They quickly shrunk down to 1/5th of their normal size though.
*What the fuck?*
[/window]New skill unlocked: Mining![/window]
*What kind of... Uh nevermind. At this level for 5 square meters I mine I'll only actually get one. I guess I should start leveling this up. It'll take me a long ass time to get anywhere, but oh well.*
He continued mining until his endurance ran out and he collapsed. After a few minutes he would get back up and continue running, not caring about the pain he was feeling in his muscles.
While he was mining, he managed to hear a rapid clinking in the background. Quickly turning around, he found a Rock Crab. it was just under a meter tall and was 1.5 meters long. Analyzing it showed that it was a Z10 Rank and was level 103.
He quickly multiplied it's mass with his gravity magic and decreased the weight of the pick. Using his hips to add more rotation, he swung the pick sideways straight into it's face. It screeched as half of it's face was forcefully torn off. As for Jayson, he could feel the impact in his numbing hands. They still weren't used to the feedback caused by the force he hit with. Even while mining slowly it would hurt.
Quickly shaking his hands to get rid of the feeling, he swung down once more, right into the center of it's head. A loud crunch was heard, and then the body collapsed.
Leaving the points off to the side for now, he went back to mining. Slowly, over the course of a few hours, he had built up a small amount of mana stone. He didn't know how long he mined for, but it was long enough that his Rationing and Hydration skills weren't able to keep up anymore.
Putting the rest of the stone into his bag, he began running down back to where he woke up. Once there he continued running, towards the foreman.
After another 10ish minutes, he made it into a large white room. There was a man sitting behind a desk. He had a golden monocle on his left eye, with slick black hair and a chiseled jaw. He sat straight, his arms folded forwards as if he had known that Jayson had been coming all along.
"Well, what're you waiting for? Show me your sack." - Foreman
The guy had a deep and gruff voice, almost like that of a heavy smoker. HE quickly gave the man his bag, and the man quickly poured the contents into another bag and handed it back.
"You've currently mined out 10 Bells. You are 0.000001% done." The foreman got up and left, leaving Jayson there stunned. All that work, and only 10 Bells? This would take a very, VERY long time.

Another week passed, and Jayson had kept on mining. He got his mining skill to Level 89. Each level gave an extra 0.1% efficiency, so he was now at 28.9% efficiency. He was quite surprised at how quickly he was gaining levels, but it probably also because of the pickaxe. If he had a normal one, he would have to use much more strength in order to mine and end up getting tired much faster.
With it, he was able to go for longer and longer durations. So far, he had mined 113 Bells. it was quite bad, but as he Leveled more he would start making more and more money. Any either way, he had roughly 400 years in-game to play if the game kept going for another 80 years.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
As he going back to the mines though, something changed. Out of nowhere, he could hear the clicking of crab legs. Sure he had dealt with them before, but the issue this time was the amount of clicking. Looking towards the noise, he was surprised. There were around 200 Crabs stacked upon each other, racing to see who would get to him first.
*Damn, I might actually not be able to do this. Each one is at least Level 100, so they should have much more stats than me. Maybe I can try that...*
That, refering to his new thought-up plan. it had to do with Blink, but using it in a different manner. Instead of blinking himself, he would blink them, into each other. He had tried earlier with a rock and found that as long as the one casting the magic wouldn't be put into a solid object, anything else would go.
Quickly spreading his magic, he doubled their weight with his
The abomination that came out wouldn't stop screeching, as it, or the multiple crabs all felt themselves being conjoined. Not wanting to get deafened, he create a Gravity Point inside it and crushed it's innards.
As it's screeching finally ended, he began doing the same thing with other groups. Some he would blink into the floor, some into the wall, and others into each other. If any of them got close, a few swings of his pick killed them. A few minutes later, he was out of mana, but they were all blinked together. Since they could no longer move, he tok the time to regen his mana before killing them all. As he killed the last one, he was blinded by pop-ups.
*What...the...fuck...*
*To start off, the stat points. Its pretty cool, but really, level 100000+? How do you even get there? How long would it take us, even with the 5x speed compared to reality to get there? Next, finding a way to use a new spell. Quite nice. Next, skills leveled up. Okay. Then Mass Dark Horse and Kill Transaction... lets see how it works.*
He quickly used the skill to see what would happen.
*Hmmm, I have almost 600 coins. And this interest should be fun. Once I get more coins even if I don't kill anything I'll get more. Fun. I'll go see how much everything costs later. Right now I should probably put all my stat points in.*
With all of the stats gained from the pop-ups plus the stats gained through doing tasks repeatedly, and then the 122 stat point he had, this is what he ended up with. For Stat points, 22 went into Wisdom, 29 to Strength, 11 to Endurance, 25 to Agility, and 35 to vitality.
Overall, his stats where starting to shape up. He was now confident of being able to fight against another Horde of Rock Crabs like the one he just faced, but he would wait until another one appeared before he tried moving down deeper into the mine. He would also have to boost his agility tremendously before he went down there, as he could only expect it would start taking longer and longer to go from one area to another...or he could set up some Stellar Gates, but he would leave that for later.
With one week left until the end of the beta, Jayson decided to continue mining, trying to gain as much strength as possible. After the beta finished and he would be getting his Deep-Submergence Capsule, he would be able to play for much longer.
Grabbing his pickaxe, he ran back into the mines, prepared to continue gaining strength.
