21 – Leonine Misbegotten, the Tower of Return, and the Coastal Cave.

I reached down and brushed the golden rune stones beneath the shallow waters. I saw the golden mist coalesce into the shape of Edgar. I drank my wonderous physick and readied my soldiers of Godrick ashes. With these preparations complete, I walked through the fog. The Leonine Misbegotten looked like a far more refined version of the other misbegotten. Its most striking feature was its red mane. As the misbegotten charged towards me I summoned my soldiers and readied to cast the Rejection incantation.

As the Leonine Misbegotten rushed at me I cast rejection and bounced them back. My soldiers and Edgar rushed in to attack it. The Leonine Misbegotten made a sweep attack and I jumped up to bring my sword down on its back.

The Leonine Misbegotten didn't st long with four people smacking it. It died in just a few moments and at the end I obtained the Grafted bde great sword.

I teleported back up the castle and made my way to Edgar.

"I'm in your debt. I'm no longer bound by duty. Once I've rescued Irina, I will spend my remaining days with her. Thanks to you, I will be reunited with Irina. And devote my remaining days to her. Irina has a gentle nature, though. I only hope it remains intact."(Edgar)

I choked back the tears that were beginning to form, and I nodded and made my way back down to the castle entrance. I then began a battle with the guardian golem. My Fme Sling incantation did massive damage to the already broken golem, I was able to win with minimal effort because of that. I then teleported to the isoted merchant's shack. I mounted Torrent and made my way to the Tower of Return.

Once there I made my way up the dders until I got to a chest. I opened it and let myself be enveloped by silver mist. I felt a simir sensation as my teleportation by grace. When the mist cleared, I saw a grand entryway, with a set of stairs leading up to it. Looking to my left, I saw the Erdtree, in its divine radiance. It was closer now than it was from Limgrave. It was perhaps the closest I could get without being granted access to the capital city itself. Despite me being within the capital city of Leyndell I could not activate the lift behind me that would grant me access to the rest of the city.

I walked up the stairs and touched the grace at the top. I then proceeded through the entryway. I saw the golem on the other side, and I cast Order's Bde to enchant my sword with additional holy damage. I then proceeded to dodge the golems attacks and knock it over before stabbing the golem's chest. Once the golem was dead, I walked over to a nearby chest and opened it to obtain a very powerful talisman. The Blessed Dew talisman. This talisman would automatically restore my health over time. An effect that would be very much appreciated during my journey around the nds between.

At this point I really wanted my second talisman slot which means I would need to fight Margit the Fell Omen soon. But I could put this off for a little bit longer. I teleported to the bridge of sacrifice and approached the pce where Edgar was kneeling over the dead body of Irina, sobbing uncontrolbly.

"Irina... How could this be... My daughter deserved better... The fault lies...with me. I chose duty over my daughter's safety. And that is how fate has answered... I'll find them. The foul wretches responsible for this. I'll hunt them down and exterminate every st one of them. Rest assured, Irina. It will be done."(Edgar)

He didn't seem to notice me. I wanted to offer myself up as punishment for not forcing him to visit Irina sooner, for not taking Irina somewhere safer, but instead I walked away.

  ...

I teleported to the first step. It was time to tackle the Coastal Cave. I mounted Torrent and rode to the cave's entrance. Once there I began walking down the dark tunnel until I heard a voice.

  "Oh... It... hurts..."(Boc)

BOC!!!! I walked quickly until I reached the site of grace. Right next to the grace was Boc, beaten and bruised and lying on the ground while curled up in pain. I quickly approached him and checked if he was okay.

"Oh, what are you doing here? You must leave this pce at once. They'll rush in and beat you to a pulp. You'll end up just like me."(Boc)

I simply shook my head and after confirming that he was alive, I lit up my ntern and proceeded down the cave. I killed every single demi-human in my path until I reached the rge room that held the Chieftains. I walked into the room and summoned my wolves to keep the smaller demi-humans busy, and I cast Order's Bde to boost my weapon with holy damage. I then systematically cut and sliced my way around each of the Chieftains until they fell. I then cut down every st one of the demi-humans left in the cave. I barely even registered the pain from the few wounds I did receive. Once they were all dead, I grabbed the sewing kit and sewing needle and brought them back to Boc.

"Wait, is that what I think it is? You got it back for me? My sewing needle! What made you go and do a thing like that.... My mum was a seamstress... and that sewing kit was all I had to remember her by. I always wanted to be just like sweet old Mum. Then, I suppose I-I can't just curl up and die, can I?"(Boc)

  I nodded.

  "Thank you. You're very kind."(Boc)

I left the cave. There wasn't much more I could do for him. I proceeded back down the cave and through the rge main room into a tunnel at the other end. I left the cave to find myself on the isnd off the western beach of Limgrave. Walking up the hill I approached the Church of Dragon Communion. Within the ancient, damaged church I saw a short pilr with a bowl atop it filled with a maroon-colored fme. Behind the pilr was the stone corpse of an Ancient Dragon.

I retrieved some of my dragon hearts and raised my hand to the bowl. I felt the power within the draconic hearts. I allowed the ritual altar to infuse draconic power into the heart. I then proceeded to eat. I could feel the power of the dragon's hearts filling me, I could feel something within that power trying to force its way into my mind. Something trying to usurp control of my body from me. Something trying to devour me. But then I felt another power, this one came from within me. It pushed pack against the force of the dragons. It reversed the situation. I felt the echoes of the dragons will within the hearts go sck, as whatever was already within me crushed them and devoured them. I felt the power that the echoes of the dragons will wielded become my own.

I knew that this power was not grace. This power was something else, something foreign. My thoughts shifted towards the menu. The menu manifested itself through grace yes, and it interfaced with the power of grace, but the core of the menu was like this foreign power. It was nestled deep within me, and felt like it didn't belong in this world.

Huh? That's weird... Does this mean I'll never turn into a Magma Wyrm?
