“Cool. Can you fetch too?” asked Jonah, smirking.
I was too shocked to say anything. My life had become one bad manga, and I was the main character in it. I kept an eye on the soldiers closing in on us and gripped Jonah’s shirt lightly. He nodded and grasped my hand taking a step back.
“There’s nowhere to go and don’t you want to know what my amulet does?” the fire witch said smiling.
I didn’t like the sound of that.
“Alright, I’ll bite. What does your marvelous amulet do,” Jonah asked, rolling his eyes.
“You won’t be able to use your shadows against me and her. Well her water powers are useless,” she said palming the amulet.
Jonah smirked. “You really don’t know much about us if you think that’s all we can do,” he said, summoning a bit of wind to him.
She summoned fire around her and smirked. “Fire beats Wind, Otherworlder.”
“Who said about using it on you?” he said as he began writing runes in the wind and stringing them in an array. I watched him and squeezed his hand while I summoned earth walls around us as the fire brigade began to shoot fire at us. Jonah chanted and the water in the air coalesced around the fire witch.
“Get ready to meet a calamity from our world,” he muttered, adding wind and I smiled as a hurricane began to trap the fire witch. So much for her fire power but there were others to take care of now although they seemed frozen as their leader was defeated again.
“Get them you fools!” screeched the fire witch as she tried to get out of the hurricane.
Maryanne: Use my power, Myra.
Jessica: What! And do what? Heal them to death?
Strength: She’s got a point, Maryanne.
Mark: What are you hiding?
Jack: Now would be a good time to tell us.
Maryanne glowed black. “You’ll see but it might be too much for Myra.
I nod and shot my Earth power again, but I feel a difference and suddenly the power flowed deep into the earth and caused an earthquake around me, knocking a few soldiers on their behinds in shock. They got up and ran away, shocking me.
“What did I do?” I muttered switching to wind and shooting a few blades at a soldier except these blades glowed a darker silver and when they cut into the soldier, they severed his head completely. I stood shocked as his body collapsed and blood spurted out of the wound. I felt sick to my stomach and nearly collapsed. Jonah caught me before I could reach the ground.
“Myra! Stay with me! I can’t beat these guys by myself,” he said, blasting another fire soldier with wind jets.

“I-I killed someone! I killed…”
“Hold on!” He screamed and I wrapped my arms around his neck, as he dodged a fireshot. He chanted and the familiar violet bubble came into view. I cling to him and cry.
Strength: Woah! What was that?
Jessica: We killed!
Mark: We scared them off our backs
Roy: That was awesome!
Jack: I get it. Those were the darker sides of the elements right, Maryanne?
Maryanne: Yes. I control them. All of them but Myra isn’t ready for such darkness.
Strength: No, she ain’t
Jessica: She better get used to it fast. The fire witch is going to break out of her prison soon!
Roy: Yeah! She is. Like right now.
` Jack: Shit!
A large flame overtook the hurricane making it a hurricane of fire and slowly it began to shrink until a glowing figure could be seen coming out of its remnants. I shuddered. The firewitch was free and she was not happy. She stalked us and smiled.
“You can’t stay in your protection forever,” she said, knocking on the glass ball.
I wiped my tears and let go of Jonah. Right now, was not the time to break down and cry. We were in extenuating circumstances. Which gave me a thought. She thought I was Kin, but I wasn’t. My powers came from somewhere else.
Strength? Why don’t we try using you? I’m pretty sure she hasn’t stopped your power I said in my head.
Alright! Let’s do it!
I smiled as I felt power flow over me, and water came out of my hands. Jonah smirked and squeezed my shoulder. The fire witch frowned and pointed her amulet at me but like I realized it did not affect me. I wanted to slap myself. I had been fighting blind because someone said I was incapable of something. They say words have power on their own. I got ready to face the fire witch as Jonah conjured his own water. The fire witch blasted the glass orb with a pressurized fire blast in its center trying to shatter it. Jonah smirked and wagged a finger mockingly before the bubble was let down and we charged the fire witch. I went in front and shot a pressurized blast of water at her. She dodged like smoke and appeared behind me. I was too slow, but Jonah shot out his hand and a purple barrier went around me blocking the fire blast. He shot more purple light at the witch, making him take a step back.
“So, you’re a filthy hybrid as well,” she said, and he smirked.
I watched as Jonah blocked the fire witch and shot at her with silver and purple light. Looks like he had it handled. I turned to the left-over soldiers who were watching the fight and summoned water to me. It glowed darker than usual, so I tested it on the first soldier. The water wrapped around him and suffocated him. Another death. The other soldiers ran, and I turned back to the fight. Jonah was getting ready to wrap another hurricane around the witch. I smirked and summoned some water to trap the witch from behind but before I could, chains of fire shot from the fire witch and wrapped around me. I struggled but the witch laughed.
“Give up or I’ll burn your little friend to cinders,” she said.
“Don’t listen to her, Jonah. I’m fine!” I cried. The chains became hotter searing into me, and I screamed. The fire witch laughed and the chains cooled. I whimpered and tried to wrap a coat of water around me, but the chains began to sear me again and I stopped and stayed still.
“What will it be?” the fire witch asked Jonah, who was glaring at her.
He’ll run, I assured myself. He’ll leave me like before and run. At least one of us will get home.
“I’ll come quietly,” he said instead, shocking me. I watched as fire chains wrapped around him too and then the fire chains were searing me so strongly that I lost consciousness.
He stayed were my last thoughts.
