Chapter 15 It’s Lila Now

Kon had been watching over Lila since she woke up and all three representatives were currently watching the same thing, waiting to see how she was doing.

  “In. Out. In. Out.”

“It seems she is doing fine so we should get down to business.” Mab was the first to speak up just to get a glare from Kon while Asmodeus just gave his usual all-knowing smirk.

“I must agree with Ms. Doom and Gloom. What shall we do with her? I’m not willing to give up such a talent.”

Kon and Mab both turned to him like he had just spoken blasphemy. Not like a demon would ever do that right?

“I’m not willing to give up a new toy. Especially not with what she offered to me.” Mab gloated but when she laughed so did Asmodeus. This entire conversation made Kon agitated. Though Asmodeus’ laughter confused Mab.

  “WHY IS MATH NOT MATHING!!”

Upon hearing Lila’s yelling, they all turned to the holographic screen to see her acting strangely. This had actually reset the mood of the entire room. Mab was beginning to doubt her own standing with owning the name Lian Hughes, all because of Asmodeus’ behavior.

Asmodeus was intrigued by what was going on with her while Kon was just happy that she seemed okay.

“Lady Kyubi, why don’t we bring out little hellion into the discussion so she can represent her own interests.” Asmodeus suggested this in hopes that progress would be made because as things are no one will.

“I agree. Though I might just take some time since she seems to be going through her status right now.” Kon replied as she got up and left after turning the screen off. Kon has been alive long enough to know that when a king of Gehenna wants to speak to someone alone, it’s safer to humor them. Besides Kon wanted a moment alone with her newly adopted daughter.

Once she left, Mab and Asmodeus were silent for a moment.

It didn’t take long for Mab to get annoyed with Asmodeus’ cheeky smirk.

“What’s going through that demented head of yours?”

  “I know something you don’t~”

He couldn’t help but chuckle at this. Mab dashed towards him in a smoky flurry as she lost her temper. She was the queen of air and darkness ruler of one of two sub-factions in Tuatha. Being split like this made Tuatha the second most stable organization in the big three of the council factions. She was not afraid to prove how she got and maintained her position.

For this arrogance, she was caught off guard when Asmodeus’ tail lunged towards her. A snakehead formed at the end and forced Mab into solid form as it held her neck in its jaw.

Gehenna was divided into seventy-two sub-factions that were still at war with each other to this day. Asmodeus was considered one of the strongest in such a realm. Many forgot this since he usually shied away from the battlefield. People thought it was out of fear, but he just grew bored of constant warfare.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

“You like to refer to yourself as the queen of air and darkness. All I see is a delusional princess of gossip and broody goths. If you’re not going to play nice then go mope in a corner with your edgy slaves.”

He had gently set Mab and dusted her shoulders and leaned back in his chair. Mab was speechless. She was restrained while her target never even got up like she was never even considered something worth taking seriously.

“Let’s make a deal then.” Mab offered gasping for air but was still able to regain her domineering attitude, even if Asmodeus didn’t feel threatened at all.

“If I can command her like I know I can, then the girl comes with me. You will even get Kon on board one way or another.”

“I do love a good game. Tell me this. What if you can’t command her?” He asked as his grin grew ear to ear, showing rows of dagger-like teeth.

“Then I will back down and agree to what you and Kon agree to.”

Asmodeus stayed quiet for a bit to pretend that he was actually thinking it over. He had already decided and knew that he could squeeze out Lila’s old name and get it returned. He ended up agreeing without any changes because he believed Lila’s current state was perfect for molding. If he failed, then Mab was another target to put on Lila’s hit list to motivate her to follow the path he wanted.

He believed that with her old name gone most of her trauma and beliefs were ripped out with it, even if the scars might remain the damage should be minimal. From what he witnessed she was a ball of primal instincts with the knowledge of how society works. He figured out what her lust was.

Kon was on the other side of the door listening to her daughter. She had assumed that now she was deciding on what class to pursue. It was common to have a desired class to pursue even though they could select one after completing the requirements for all of them. Kon genuinely hoped she could help her daughter on whatever path she wished to pursue.

She stayed and waited as per GAT’s sanctuary rules. While Kon was now here as a guest of the seeker of sanctuary, she was not allowed to enter without GAT’s consent as she was not on the list of those to trust immediately.

After waiting a few more minutes the guild member showed up and explained the situation to Lila. She agreed and came out to follow Kon.

“How are you feeling?” She inquired.

“Better now. I was just killing time by spending some EP and looking at class options.”

“I’m glad you already reached level ten but please don’t be so reckless with your life anymore.” Kon couldn’t help but sigh at this as they began to walk back to the meeting room. “If you don’t mind me asking what classes do you have available?”

Lila was silent as she debated whether she should say anything to her, but Lila's instincts were telling her to trust and believe in her. So with that, she pulled up her class options but decided to be vague for now, in case her instincts were wrong.

  “I have a… Three-star warrior class, an odd class, a four-star blacksmith, a four-star mage, and a nope.”

Kon was impressed. The vast majority of people call it a blessing for their first class to even reach three stars so having two four-star options was a sign of good talent. While Kon was extremely curious about the odd class and the class she said no to, she decided it was better to respect her boundaries as they barely had a relationship at the moment.

Once they arrived, Kon sat down, and Lila was left at the end of the table.

Kon could sense that the tension from Mab was all but gone. Instead, she could feel magic swirl around Mab as she began to activate her magic arts.

“Lian Hughes. Kneel before me and swear yourself to the Unseelie of Tuatha.”

‘How dare she use name magic on my daughter!’ Kon’s eyes went feral, and it took every ounce of control not to lunge at her and rip her throat out.

Lila’s reaction was different. She slightly cocked her head sideways as her violet eyes stared back into Mab’s eyes and a smile on par with the ear-to-ear grin appeared on her face.

“It’s Lila now. You stupid bitch.” Lila responded as she gave her the finger.
