When Louis linked me to the clinic. I could tell by his voice how urgent it was. Nick had relieved me from sitting with Monk. I was just about to call another family to tell them their loved one had been found. I dropped the phone and ran to the clinic. Lou was tending to one of the patients and all he said was room 47.
I walked in the room and there sat a man I recognized but I hadn't seen in over 400 centuries. My uncle, Uncle Mircea. I thought he was killed in battle and his body was turned to ash. I pulled up a chair and sat beside his bed. We just looked at each other for a long time before either one of us spoke. He grabbed my hand and said “My nephew, I thought you had passed away by the hands of your brother”. I laughed and told him no, Radu is also alive and living in Romania. He is doing well and is my second in command. Although we had brotherly fights and fought wars on opposing sides. We do love each other and also protected each other and kept one another alive during the war. Mircea told me how he was captured and the horrific things that were done to him. Silver whippings, stakes almost piercing his heart, raped, sodomized by men and women, drugs that caused hallucinations and made to fight until death just for food.
Watching this man who is a master general in war and torture break down crying over what was done to him through the years was painful for me to watch. He had done some brutal things just as I have but that was long ago and times have changed and we have changed along with them. That is the reason so many supernaturals have lived for many centuries.

I tell Mircea about our family and his great great nephew Maurice is named after him. Of course he wants to meet Monk right this instant. I explained Monk's condition to him. He jumps up and yells TAKE ME TO HIM NOW! I do as he says and I take him across the hall to room 48 where Monk is still in a coma. I introduce Jackson to his great Uncle Mircea and Mircea promises to tell us everything after he wakes up Maurice. He tells us we need to combine our blood. Justina, Jackson, Dianna and myself need to combine our blood and awake Maurice's vampire side which will heal his magic abilities but it will awaken other abilities in him and make him stronger but he needs to be trained properly so he doesn't become a Ripper Rogue. I stare at Mircea for a while and say, that is a term I haven't heard in a few centuries. Jackson looks at me and I explain. A Ripper is a Vampire who is uncontrollable and who is driven by blood instinct. It is almost like Blood Lust except Blood Lust is a genetic condition caused by hunger. A Ripper just bleeds out his victims regardless of being full or not. He kills just to kill, he has no moral compass about him or her. He kills no matter what age or species. Since Maurice will be awakening his vampire abilities at such a late age the chances of him becoming a Ripper is high. Therefore he will need proper training to be able to keep his instincts from taking control.
Justina and Dianna enter the room along with Lou. I explain every detail to them about what Mircea has told us. Dianna says we have the Vampire King and Vampire General here. Surely you both can train him properly. Mircea and I agree to do just that. I tell them sometimes I forget that I'm King when it comes to my family, but they are correct. I am the Vampire King and it's time to show my power.
We all agree for Lou to draw our blood and have it administered to Maurice.
