The hundred-meter dash had been the easiest. One flash and my time was recorded as 0.5 seconds.
In the long jump, I jumped and then used an axis jump mid-air, crossing the whole jumping pit in one go.
High jump was basically me, Axis jumping to a certain height. But I had to be careful, you see, the teleportation did not stop momentum. If I gained too much speed, I might crash. So I had to balance my speed by inverting my direction with reverse portals pointing upwards.
A slight hiccup came at the ball throwing.
Teleporting the ball didn't count as throwing, as the exercise was to note the physical distance traveled by the ball. So instead, I had to come up with a clever way.
I dropped the ball into a portal with another one vertically very high up. The ball repeatedly fell through the air with increasing speed as gravity did its job. And once I was ready, and the ball began smoking due to air friction, I changed the exit portal's orientation, and the ball shot through the air and went out of bounds.
Bingo!
"Damn, dude! You could use that trick to trap villains, too!" Kirishima was really smart for a macho muscle head.
"Naah, man, maintaining portals takes too much stamina."
The rest of the exercises I did manually. But my prowess far surpassed the nonphysical quirk owners. Of course, it was nowhere near Iida or Ojiro.
It was not because of Brilliant Life either; that stat boost wasn't insignificant, but not that significant.
The reason for my superiority was the two quirks.
Yeah, have you ever wondered why the guns here are seldom used?
That's because a quirk comes with a passive stat boost of its own. Yep, even the weakest and most useless one, too.
It made us quite durable against normal bullets. To truly hurt us, you would need armor-piercing (AP) rounds, or you would have to empty several clips for it to be effective. That's why even after getting tossed around like ragdolls, the heroes still stood up. You do know that there are many cases where ordinary people die because they hit their head on the floor after slipping or something, while our heroes smash into walls regularly on a daily basis and walk off with a shrug of their shoulders.

The passive effect of two quirks compounded and made me stronger.
Just like 6 powerful quirks in the case of One for All.
And as for guns, of the 60% population that had quirks(I reduced the number from 80% to 60), roughly 20% of them had hardening, blocking, or extreme dodging quirks that made bullets useless. A good number were animalistic ones who had ridiculously high endurance and vitality that could not be hindered by one or two bullets. Which is why during the raid on Shie hasaikai, the police asked Erazerhead to erase villain quirks before they could shoot.
A weapon is not reliable if it is ineffective against a third of the population it is to govern.
And just so you know, most criminals had good quirks.
But let's set all that aside. I was curious to see if Midoriya's tests will go the same way they did in the show.
They did.
I had also watched Yaoyorozu's attempts at each task with rapt attention. And her success, I now understood was in her adaptability and Creativity.
She uses a pole she made for the high jump. Dude, pole vaulters take several-meter-high jumps. She almost matched Asui. The strength test found a strange contraption to bring the two rods on the tester closer. She created a rocket and skates for the hundred-meter dash. A small bazooka to launch the ball for ball throw.
Her scores and her methods almost felt like cheating. No matter the problem, she knew something to counter it. The few tasks she didn't smash were probably because the tools to smash them were not cost-effective, and she had to conserve her stamina to perform at her best in the other, more valuable tasks.
I just couldn't wait to get my hands on her quirk. Only one month to go.
The class ended with Midoriya's broken finger and the revelation of Eraser Head's identity.
"And I was joking. Nobody's going home. I just wanted you to push yourself."
Midoriya looked like he had come back from the dead.
"I am surprised none of you figured that out before. I guess I should have said something." Momo said in an amused voice.
So far, the plot had been going word for word, except for the presence of the Invisible Girl. But since it was going to blow up anyway, I decided to let go of it in small stuff. I wasn't smart enough to manipulate masters like All for One anyway.
"Ummm, Professor Aizawa eliminated a whole class of students last year, so the risks weren't as minimal as you might think, Yaoyorozu." I quipped, drawing attention. And soon they turned to Aizawa as if asking for confirmation or denial.
Aizawa ignored us all and sauntered off.
Slowly, the high school life started to get into a rhythm. And of course, the Food was to die for. I also figured out who got pushed into class 1B. The Sugar Rush guy.
I had expected it to be Hagakure. But well, life and lemons it is.
About the friend groups, well, I don't know if Toru Hagakure's absence affected it or not, but the major relationships I remembered were intact.
The Izuku Ochako and Iida Trio had formed like in the original.
Kirishima had become fast friends with Denki Kaminari and Mina and had developed some sort of respectful relationship with Bakugo. Hanta Sero(Tape) had matched the trio's energy and joined up later.
For me, a new circle of silent ones had formed. It started with Jiro and me mutually respecting each other's habit of listening to music. She had befriended Momo. On my side, I had struck up a conversation about dark shadow with Tokoyami. I had always been fascinated by it. That developed into a mutual respect for each other's powers and abilities. Especially since I had scored second in class, and he had scored third.
We were a quiet type group by and large.
Asui(Froppy) and Toru(Invisible) Girl had started hanging out with Ojiro(Tail Guy) and Shoji.(Dupli-arms). Although Shoji and the animal whisperer Koda were silent fringe members.
Aoyama(Naval laser) and Mineta(The pervert) were outliers, and so was Shoto Todoroki. Though the latter was in that section by choice, while the former two were also by choice, just not theirs. Although Mineta hung out with Kaminari when he could, bonding over their shared appreciation of the female form.
