Ticket to the Future

Deep in his thoughts, Elias pushed the heavy cart, completely unaware that he had already traveled two blocks. Stopping at the entrance of his building, he mechanically entered the code, stepped inside, and rolled the cart into the hallway. Glancing automatically at the mailboxes, he suddenly froze: an envelope was sticking out of his box, number 25.

?Stepping closer, he pulled it out and recognized the emblem of the famous French agency "Window to the World," one of the most prestigious and leading agencies in the entire world. His heart raced with excitement, and Elias could hardly believe his eyes. He hurriedly tore open the envelope, discovering an invitation to participate in an artists' competition. He had sent his work to various agencies but had long since lost all hope; he had submitted his portfolio to this particular agency almost a year and a half ago.

?Without hesitation, he took out his device and activated the virtual Fairy, immediately asking, "Is this invitation from the 'Window to the World' agency your doing?"

?"Do not be surprised, Elias," the virtual Fairy replied softly. "You sent your inquiries there yourself."

?"But how do you do it?" Elias exclaimed, bewildered.

?"You do not understand, Elias; the path of life is multifaceted and twisted by fate," the Fairy continued. "It is not like a straight line; it is rather an intricate weaving of possibilities and chances that you created yourself. I simply choose the easiest and most direct route from that multitude of options."

?"No, that is enough for today," Elias decided and turned off his device.

?He rolled the cart to the freight elevator and began unloading the bags of feed. Reaching his floor, he moved everything to the door and opened it. Entering the apartment, he paused, taking in the familiar yet unpleasant sight.

?"Well, friends, did you have another zoo party?" Elias sighed.

?The apartment looked as if a small tornado had passed through: scraps of expensive torn magazines, shreds of ripped bags, and pillows torn to pieces were scattered across the floor. Echo the parrot's cage lay on its side.

?"Looks like I’ll have to clean up until evening again."

?Moving all the bags into the hallway, he joyfully announced, "Alright, friends, today we feast—a banquet for everyone!"

?Odis, the wise dachshund, catching the scent of the food, grabbed his plastic bowl in his teeth and, wagging his tail happily, ran to Elias. Silvana elegantly leaped onto his shoulder and began to rub gently against his ear. Meanwhile, Ruby, with his eternally insatiable appetite, was already impatiently rummaging through the bags. Echo the parrot, excitedly shifting from foot to foot inside the overturned cage, repeatedly chirped, "Mess, mess, gangsters, gangsters!"

?"Odis, where is Nox?" Elias asked.

?Odis ran to the window frame and began to bark loudly at the open vent.

?"I see," Elias said. "Wise Nox does not like company. He doesn’t like what Silvana and Ruby are up to."
