Eliza is awaken from the relieved sleep. It felt as if nothing went wrong. She wonders around as she is trying to guess what has happened to her. She walks around aimlessly in the Basilica-castle. She tries to get back to track where she was now. However, none seems to be convinced.
Hitherto, she bump onto the gathering room, the room which has the biblical ceiling painting of Our Lady of Fatima above but the door is half opened. Eliza heard some discussions in Ruskyiev among all the aristrocats. She hid from the back of the door, listening despite knowing nothing of the language.
“ We truly have to devour her! Her flesh is as pure as a newborn and blood as holy as the christ!” Vladimir exclaimed loudly.
“ She is going back to America soon,” Says Olga
“ Perhaps, we may gather all her things and let her go back to America,” says Father Viktor.
“ In fact, she literally enters that half opened door which I deemed to have a word” Swetlana, who barely spoke speaks up.
“ It’s such a problem,” says Anton.
Eliza’s body froze now. She truly does not understand everything that has been going on. She then decided to withdraw just to face Mr Kion Nazarev who stood behind her back with a neutral charming face.
“ What are you trying to hear, perhaps, Miss Kalinin?” He asked in polite tone.
“ Oh well, I just have a feeling I maybe have caused trouble and now, I perhaps should step in and apologize…” She says feeling guilty as she is.
“ Miss Kalinin… I do not understand, what have you done wrong?” He steps in for her and held her hands, but she stood on her ground.
“ Mr Nazarev, I have sinned. And it is my duty as a postulant to apologize for the troubles I have caused her. Please, just let me confessed.” Says Eliza with guilty looks and she walks in the room, appearing herself. The others already knew she is walking in without any words.
She stood behind the entrance, both hands place in middle of her stomach as she clasp both together. Everyone paid attention to her, even Vladimir who was the loudest among the whole members.
“ I admit my sins, I have peek on the sacred facilities a lot, and worse I have done, entering the sacred tall room, I am deeply apologize and your highness, you are welcome to tell my Chapel’s leader about my behavior” Eliza admits and she bows down, frowning with full of guilt.
Duke Dmitri Stephanov stood up, went to her circling. “ You…went inside of it? How is that possible? The tall room is always locked.” He said, laughing as if she was insane.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“ L-locked? What do you mean? Your highness, I’ve went there when it was half opened by itself! I saw dead bodies of believers piled up as well as a baba yaga that chased me-” Before she could continue.
“ BABA YAGA!? HAHAHAHAHAHA WHAT AN AMUSING JOKE!!” Says Bishop Orlov.
“ I have been operating that closed room for a long time and since when there is dead bodies and baba yaga? Sister Eliza you are just sinning much more with your assumption.” Says Anton Kaminsky with slight smirk
“ Everyone, please believe me! I truly saw it in front of my eyes when Basilica-Castle went pitch black! The dead bodies were positioned on pews as if they were praying and a baba yaga was lunging at me and tried to kill me, I swear in saint of Divulge blood I WOULD NEVER LIE!!” She says, now kneeling and begging to be trusted.
Then she went to Olga, holding her shoulders whilst weeping and says. “ Olga, you would believe me whatever I say is it? Please Olga tell me you would!” She begged and Olga slightly smiled gently whilst holding her and said “ It's alright” , and at last that was the only response she could say.
Duke Dmitri continues again in Ruskyiev “ If miss Kalinin insists, let us go to see” he says, stood up and walks to outside. Swetlana gets up and kneels a little to Eliza, and says “ his highness is going to the holiest door to open it, follow him” She said and then leave to her own shadows as usual.
“ I’ll follow along” Olga volunteered. Alas, everyone gathers up and follows Duke Dmitri to the holiest door. Eliza held Olga’s hands and just go to where the Duke is taking her. As she passed the familiar passageway, she stared at the whole walls and ceilings of saints and all of them seemed to rather be observing her.
Just as everyone gather outside the door, Duke Dmitri observe the door for a moment. The door is occupied as if it was truly never opened and he took an initial to unlock it with the key he kept in his pocket. Just as he unlocked the door, Eliza closed her eyes in fear.
Duke Dmitri opens the door and says “ Sister Eliza, take a brief look here.” He said.
Eliza, still in fear walks near and her heart skips a beat in deepest fear. Just as she open her eyes to see, her eyes widened and she was absolutely flabbergasted. The room is pure white, made of quartz and has the family biblical pictures of the Royal family from the 1700s, the Chistyakov royal house.
The nightmares Eliza herself saw was nowhere to be seen now, how is it all possible?
“ You seen what I have seen, sister Eliza? You are perhaps afraid of the dark you are imagining things” Says Duke Dmitri, checking her temperature by placing his pale yet cold palm on her face and Eliza resists then leaves.
Eliza hid her own face, truly feeling at the edge as if the world was colliding among her. She locked herself in a room, praying rosary all day as well as reading the bible starting from Genesis. She couldn’t believe the evidence she saw was truly gone.
Until then, she heard door opening and it is Sister Swetlana, entering and then took some books as well as relics. “ S-sister Swetlana, what are you doing? Those are the things I will bring back to America tomorrow!” She said.
Swetlana cuts her off with “ we keep these in care, don’t worry” he said before turning around and leaving.
Eliza’s diary:
The day before leaving to Newark
The whole experience has left me in bizarre. Yet if we go back to the earliest moment, it was truly sweet. I have found another family here, yet it is sad the time had passed truly fast. Whatever it is, I have learnt a lot of things from members here, Father Viktor leading prayers, Bishop Orlov bible gospel lessons, getting warm care from Olga as well as ethics class from Mr Nazarev and relic lessons from Mr Kaminsky.
When I have the best time soon after Chapel of Fatima turned into best institution, I will surely visit this place again
- Eliza, will be back to Newark.
