(Pidgey. Pidgey.)
I look above as I see several Pidgeys circling the lab. The weather was quite warm that afternoon. The walk to Pallet Town has been quite a journey. Looking at all the familiar houses, streets, and Pokémon reminds me that I’m home and that I’m not leaving anytime soon.
I start walking up the stairs to Professor Oak’s lab. I never get tired of seeing this place. Visiting the old man is always nice. He has done so much for me, and in return, I’ve helped him with his dream of completing his Pokedex. A feat that only a few of us had the honor of doing.
Finally, I’ve arrived at the front door. I gave the door two knocks and waited for someone to answer. I heard the rustling of someone inside, until finally they opened.
“Oh, hey, what brings you here?” Daisy stood in front of me, looking like she just woken up from a nap. Her eyes haven’t had the time to adjust.
“Good to see Daisy. Is Gramps here?” Daisy looked confused for a sec. She rubbed her eyes and looked back at me. Her eyes widened after finally realizing who I was.
“Aster! It’s you!” She gives me a jumping hug. “You really did it! Oh gosh, you wouldn’t believe how loud I screamed when I heard the news.” I hug her back. We both laugh until she finally lets go and leads me inside.

“You’re actually the first one to arrive back at Pallet. I guess everyone decided to celebrate in their own respective places.” She laughs as she makes room on a nearby table. “Please sit. You’ve got to tell me about the moment.” She pulls a seat for me. I grab it and sit down, taking off my belt with my Poké Balls attached and placing them gently on the table.
“So this is it. The team that helped you on becoming the strongest. How did that go? Gosh, there is so much you need to tell me.” She grinned from ear to ear. It wasn’t hard to tell how over the moon she was. She was an Oak afterall. She was the successor to the old man.
“Lets wait until Gramps arrives first.” I check my phone to see my messages. “We’re also waiting on her.”
Daisy gets up from her chair. “Of course, I should make tea and prepare snacks for your Pokémon.”
“Thank you, Daisy.” She leaves for a nearby room, leaving me in the familiar sight of a messy lab. I stare back at my Poké Balls on the table. I’ve come a long way with this team. I look at the nearby PC. All the Pokémon I’ve collected and friended have helped me just as much. I grab one of the Poké Balls. A label taped on the Poké Ball reads ‘Best Friend’. “Well, let's start with you.” I look back at the others. “It’s time to come out and play.” I throw the pokeball not far to release my best friend. The one that started my obsession with all this.
“Wobbuffet! I choose you!”
