Chapter 1: I’m Not Crazy, I’ve Just Gone to Another World. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

  “Bzzz—”

A loud buzzing, accompanied by a sensation of dizziness, disrupted Elysia’s reasoning.

What is this… where am I?

Forcing herself to suppress the nausea, Elysia tried to grope for something in the darkness, but she could not control her body.

It was as if she… no longer had a body.

Before she could understand what was happening, a beam of pure white light tore through the darkness before her eyes.

In an instant, Elysia felt as if she had regained control of her body.

  She immediately opened her eyes.

“This place is…” Elysia tried to say something, but an explosive pain throbbed in her head. Countless strange words flooded her mind, along with a memory, the short life of a nun named Elysia.

  “No… I can’t pass out…” Elysia murmured.

She didn’t know what would happen if she lost consciousness there, but she had a strong premonition in her heart.

  I will die.

At the thought of death, something like a survival instinct, or perhaps pure madness, emerged from within her, forcing her to move her hands in search of something around her.

A sense of crisis reminded her that she needed to keep her mind clear.

  “(Suramarian) Sister… Sister Elysia?”

A trembling, nervous voice sounded beside her, as if afraid of being heard by someone.

Regardless of the fact that she understood that unknown language, the voice made Elysia nervous.

  Elysia’s hand grasped some object.

Even with her vision blurred and doubled, she could distinguish it, it was a candlestick, whose ornaments and golden surface revealed its luxury.

Even if it wasn’t an antique, it could still be sold for a lot of money as a modern craft.

Elysia’s right hand grabbed the candlestick and shook it, throwing out the candle and revealing the metal spike at the center.

Without hesitation, she raised the candlestick and violently drove it into her own left hand.

  “Thud—”

The sound was the same as a blade piercing flesh, and blood splattered onto Elysia’s face.

The pain of having her bones pierced made Elysia’s entire body tremble, and the intense pain was accompanied by a brief moment of clarity.

Taking advantage of this short period of clarity, Elysia pulled out the candlestick and pointed it, bloodstained, at the person who had just spoken to her.

She finally saw clearly who the person in front of her was.

A middle-aged man, with a gentle expression and a cultured appearance, wearing a black cassock.

“(Suramarian) Sister Elysia, what is happening to you?”

The man looked worried. Upon seeing Elysia pointing the candlestick at him, he took a step back.

When she realized that he would not approach, Elysia quickly looked behind her and confirmed that there was a side door to escape.

As she turned around, Elysia also looked at where she was.

There were rows of tiered desks, like in a classroom, but the decoration was different from any university she could remember.

On the contrary, it looked a bit like a… church?

  Why am I here…?

But the most important thing now was that there was a door behind her.

After confirming the exit, Elysia turned back to the man again, retreating slowly until she pressed against the door.

Enduring the pain, she pushed it with her pierced hand, still holding the candlestick firmly in the other.

  Fortunately, the door opened smoothly.

Sunlight poured into the room, dispelling the darkness of the hall. Elysia’s body fully retreated into the wooden corridor, and the sounds of footsteps, conversations, and bells echoed in her ears.

“(Suramarian) Sister Elysia! What are you doing here? Aaah! Your hand!”

A sweet voice sounded beside her.

For some reason, upon hearing that voice, Elysia felt relieved.

As Elysia relaxed, her body was once again overtaken by dizziness and fatigue, and she fell unconscious.

But she still held the candlestick firmly in her hand.

  ….

  ...

  ..

Sunlight entered the room through the windowsill, and the wooden floors and mattresses exuded a fresh and cozy aroma under the warm sun.

  “Ah—”

With ragged breathing, a young girl with light-blond hair suddenly sat up in bed, her chest heaving, and looked around in panic, as if she had had a nightmare.

In fact, the dream was real, but it was a dream about the life of a girl named Elysia.

  I… am Elysia?

A nun affiliated with the Church of the Goddess of Hope at the monastery outside the city of Suramar?

  This isn’t Earth…?

  And most importantly, a nun!?

Looking at her delicate little hands, Elysia had already recognized the reality of her dream without even considering other possibilities.

In the dream, she had lived the entire life of the girl Elysia, from being abandoned by her family, taken in by the Church, all the way to what had just happened…

  A girl…

Even if she wanted to reflect on what had happened, the simple fact of having turned into a woman was already enough to push her to the brink of collapse.

If my appearance were the same as in the dream...

Then she would be about fifteen or sixteen years old, about 1.68 meters tall, with thin eyebrows and a gentle gaze, always wearing a smile.

Eyes as blue as the sky, so pure and capable of evoking sympathy at first sight.

Blond hair, slightly wavy at the ends, and delicate features, she easily reminded people of the “angels” preached by various orthodox churches.

Now I should be called Elysia...

At any other time, in the face of a girl like this, she (or he) would certainly try to pursue her, even if it failed, there would be no regrets.

But why… why does it have to be me who becomes this beautiful girl!?

Whoever wants to become a woman, go ahead! I don’t want to!

After complaining silently for a while, Elysia blinked her beautiful eyelashes, turned her head, and began to look around.

The white curtains and sheets… reminiscent of a hospital. The strange decorations, completely different from Earth, and the unfamiliar religious symbols reinforced the fact:

I’m not crazy, I’ve just gone to another world.

It is still a strange world that closely resembles the Victorian era, but isn’t it. There seems to be a mysterious power in this world, and as a nun of the Church, she has the opportunity to come into contact with it.

But who was that man who made me feel such a strong sense of crisis, that suffocating feeling, as if I were on the verge of life and death when I arrived?

And the girl who called me, who was she?

Elysia stared at her left hand, which was intact and as if it had never been injured, and was stunned.
